Match 4-8 connected dark orbs

Awoken Pandora Awoken Pandora is one of the most powerful leaders in Puzzle and Dragons as she combines both burst and survivability. Dark monsters have historically been the strongest colour as they have amazing synergy and a deep sub pool. Thankfully, there are a number of dark devils to draw upon and only main weakness is bind removal options. Awoken Pandora plays similarity to Awoken Lucifer Awoken Archdemon Lucifer teams in that they both share the same durable row-based playstyle. You can read my Awoken Archdemon Lucifer guide HERE. Lastly, you are able to control your damage through dark row Dark row activation as well as stacking actives to unleash some of the highest total burst damage in the game.

Pros:

  • Ability to control your damage as this is becoming more relevant with specific absorption shields that require you to hit less damage
  • Bolstered health and recovery allow for easier stalling and removes the need to bring damage mitigation
  • Leaders have a combined 6 dark row Dark row , 2 skill lock resist Skill Lock Resist , and 2 time extend Time Extend awakenings
  • Recover Bind Bind Clear awakening awakening can be powerful provided leaders are not bound
  • Spectacular burst damage potential
  • Active is an amazingly powerful tool to generate dark orbs, hearts, and haste
  • A pretty girl with flowers and a magical box

Cons:

  • Vulnerable to binds. This is becoming a more relevant issue with unbindable leaders becoming more common and dungeons having more pre-emptive binds
  • Bind removal sub options are quite limited and unable to fully utilize Yomi Dragon Yomi Dragon
  • Row based teams face a tougher time against bosses with higher combo shield requirements as rows take up more space on the board.
  • Ideal team building is quite REM heavy as you wish to focus on Dark row awakenings
  • Reliant on actives to form multiple rows in order to achieve high burst damage
  • Orb hungry as you require 8 to hit your 25x multiplier
Ruby Rose vs Golden Keeper
Ruby Rose vs Golden Keeper

Many people have asked what is the ideal number of Dark row awakenings to have and it comes down to a bit of math:

  • Each Dark row awakening adds 10% damage
  • Every matched combo adds 25% more damage
  • However, a connected 6 match deals 1.75x your base attack value while 2 separate combos is 2x base attack
  • Thus you need 4.2 Dark row to “break even” (instead of matching 2 unique sets of 3 dark orbs)

This is excluding the ease of matching additional combos along side your row. Thus you wish to have as many Dark row to help compensate for the loss of combo potential. However, your two leaders already provide 6 dark row Dark row awakenings and any sub you bring can be seen as an added bonus.

Claire combines style, grace, power, and beauty all into one amazing monster! Sporting 2 dark rows Dark row and 2 TPA awakenings along with the often overlooked enhanced heart orb +heart awakening. . +heart significantly increases your healing potential along with retaining the enhanced status when converted into dark orbs. Only drawbacks of using Dark Valk is a lack of Skill Lock Resist and removing heart orbs with her active. Granted this synergizes well with most other actives, but you may need to heal and deal lethal damage in the same turn.

Awoken Anubis is another viable single orb changer that converts jammers, poison, and wood orbs to dark. This provides some synergy with Zuoh Zuoh along with preventing the need to bring other actives to remove full boards of poison. The 5x counter attack has niche uses versus bosses with perseverance provided you can survive their 1% execution ability. Unfortunately, Awoken Anubis ‘s awakenings are not very synergetic unless you are in need of extra Time Extend or baiting out fire binds.

Vampire is  a farmable option for a fast orb changer. Sadly his awakenings and base stats are quite  poor and will most likely be a placeholder until you have a stronger sub. On the bright side, his active can be combined with many other orb changers to create a dark heavy board.

Grisar is a luxury farmable sub sub who is now more easily obtainable through coop and Mythical Plus Devil Rush. Once max skilled, Grisar provides a light to dark orb change along with haste on a 7 turn cooldown. Awakenings wise, Grisar provides 2 dark rows Dark row along with the coveted Skill Lock Resist  which eases team building. Furthermore, his base stats and art are top notch. The main downside is  his active competes with other popular orb changers and cannot be used in conjunction with any dark board changers. Lastly, his amazingly high base attack value is critical to bursting through the 10M defence PreDRAs Fire PreDRA in Arena 2.

Halloween Vampire is essnetially a less pretty and powerful version of Summer Dark Valk due to less awakenings, lower base stats, and lower sex appeal. Bright side, his hair is pretty fabulous.

Double orb changers:

These subs convert 2 different orbs to dark and either heart or dark orbs and allows for easier matching as you are dealing with only 4 elements. It is wise to bring at least 1 of these subs as they provide power through their awakenings, actives, and some utility.

To help you better chose which Pandora is right for you, please read my comparison post HERE. However, I would recommend using the Bankai Pandora evolution as a sub if you are struggling with recovery which is something most devil teams lack. Of course this can be compensated with more plus eggs, but it may make it easier in the short term. Furthermore,  Awoken Pandora requires a heavier investment in terms of evolution and skill ups. Do note higher end teams will choose Awoken as a sub because of the haste and chance to make a more system style team. Regardless of which evolution you choose, Pandora is an amazing sub on her own team as she offers dark and heart orb generation along with powerful and utility oriented awakenings. You can combine her heart making with a horizontal row of hearts to trigger 3 turns of bind removal through Bind Clear awakening and is one of the few options for removing binds. Just keep in mind that Pandora can be bound, but it is at least an option.

Persephone is far prettier in her dark/fire form and is only evolved to dark/wood because of the additional awakenings and most notably 2 Dark row . However,  Persephone is not a devil and you would need to use D.R Persephone to fully benefit from your leader’s multiplier. The 2 +heart awakenings add significant increase to healing that should not be overlooked. Furthermore, the enhanced heal orbs will be converted into enhanced dark orbs. Row based teams love actives that can flood the board with dark orbs and D.R Persephone is an amazing candidate. With the soon to be released awakenings buff in NA,  D.R Persephone has both Skill Lock Resist God Killer God Killer awakenings. Lastly, she should be receiving an awoken evolution in the near future which may make her even more powerful.

Yomi Dragon is one of the 300k Monster Point Dragons and even though she is not a devil, is at least worth mentioning because Yomi Dragon is one of the best options for bind clearing in high level content. This is becasue she is both bind immune and can manufacture heart orbs to form a horizontal row to remove 3 turns of binds via recover bind Bind Clear awakening awakening. In addition to the bind clearing ability, the other awakenings add valuable utility as well as being able to use the active in conjunction with other orb changers as it will guarantee 4 dark orb generation.

Gryps Rider is technically a double orb changer, but his net effect is changing hearts to dark with a longer cooldown. However, it is his active that is of your main concern. 2.5x boost to devil types is significant considering most of your subs are devil, just be careful about resetting your HP to 1 if unable to sweep or there is a pre-emptive on the following floor. Full board changers:

Ronia is an old 5-star Godfest exclusive who provides an amazing full board change that should generate at least 2 dark rows. Unfortunately, Red Sonia ‘s awakenings are a bit lackluster along with having fire as her primary attribute. The Bind Clear awakening makes little sense as her active cannot generate hearts and Red Sonia is not bind immune.

Bind clearing:

One of the largest weaknesses for your Awoken Pandora team is having your leaders bound. When bound, you lose your health and recovery multiplier. This causes your team to lose their durability and become very fragile to most attacks. As such, bringing a bind clearing sub is almost mandatory for pre-emptive leader binds. However, if the floor will only bind at certain health thresholds or on their first turn, it is better to bring a burst active sub to try and one shot them instead. As a general rule, bind clearing subs bring little damage to your team as they lack offensive awakenings and their active for the most part is defensive in nature. Unfortunately, the depth of subs that can clear binds that are dark devils is quite small and you cannot use Yomi Dragon Yomi Dragon as effectively due to no devil typing. Do keep in mind your 2 Awoken Pandora leaders both posses a recover bind Bind Clear awakening awakening along with a heart generating active. Unfortunately, this does nothing when they are bound.

Awoken Lucifer has amazing awakenings from a row team perspective. Unfortunately, his active is a bit lackluster and has poor value if only using for the 3 orb generation. However, it can be wonderfully effective when facing monsters with incredibly high amounts of defence and under 150,000 HP.

Team Building:

Team building for  Awoken Pandora generally revolves around maximizing your Dark row awakenings along with orb changers, dungeon mechanics, and adjusting your skill lock resistance accordingly. Keeping this in mind, there is no “perfect” team that can clear all the current content and needs to be fluid and dynamic to adjust to new challenges. One of the key strengths to playing a 1.56x HP / 25x ATK / 1.56x RCV team is your inherit tankiness and ability to stall on what would normally be dangerous floors. This grants you flexibility with Skill Lock Resist subs as you may be able to grind it out instead. However, a large part of your damage multiplier is tied to using an active and it may be beneficial to try and bring a sub who has a 5 turn cooldown to more readily proc your full multiplier. When deciding if you need to bring a bind clearing sub, you need to determine the nature of the binds: is it a preemptive, are you capable of stalling it out, and is it possible to burst through the floor and thus bypass the bind? As a general rule, bind clearing subs lack damage output so it may be advisable to bring a burst oriented sub instead if the bind only occurs at certain health percentages. Furthermore, binds on your subs are usually not as important and it is only when your leaders are bound that danger arises due to losing your tankiness. Lastly, all the subs discussed above are devil type and fully benefit from your multiplier. You can still use subs who are non-devil types, but they will only be receiving 16x ATK and not contribute any additional HP or RCV. The following Video showcases Awoken Pandora clearing Arena 2. The burst damage is simply amazing. PreDRAs Fire PreDRA at ~8:35. Grisar Grisar is key due to the amazingly high base attack value.

Latent Setup:

Awoken Pandora teams do not require specific latents for optimal usage outside of a single monster having rainbow resists (1% of each colour) in order to avoid 100% gravity attacks. After that, you are free to latent awaken as you please, but it is always fashionable to maximize dark resist Dark Resist latents in order to mitigate the DQ Hera pre-emptive as well as most of the scariest monsters being dark. If you are wishing to clear Arena 1 or 2, it does not hurt to have a full fire resist Fire Resist on a monster to help mitigate the damage of the Kalis below 50% HP. More reading on Latents can be found HERE.

Dungeon Playstyle:

Awoken Pandora teams play differently than rainbow burst teams as your damage is strongly tied to active usage and formation of Dark row . As such, you are going to have to stall periodically throughout the dungeon in order to unleash your explosive damage. You should always enter endless corridors to test your damage output (with a 1 or 2 rows matched) to give yourself a relative idea of how much damage you can deal. This is important because you may need to stall on a floor to acquire 8+ dark orbs to trigger your Dark row awakenings and full 25x damage. Being Dark row focused requires a different strategy for matching as it may seem “easy” at first glance. However it is quite challenging to safely manufacture multiple rows and ideally combos alongside. It will take practice in finding the best way to break up your rows because if they connect, you lose the additional bonus. This is where careful active usage and Time Extend comes into play as ways to ease your matching. Because you need to match 8+ orbs to trigger 25x, you will need to practice finding ways to safely organize your board.

noodlenoob vs Nordis
noodlenoob vs Nordis

In addition, you should determine your base recovery (how much healed when matching 3 heart orbs) as each subsequent combo adds 25% healing. For example, 6,000 base recovery will heal 12,000 HP when matching those 3 hearts and 4 additional combos (5 in total). You will need to stall throughout the dungeon and this information helps you determine if an active is needed. Also, try to make a tentative plan and mental note of which floors you want to use actives. This provides some guideline to your usage and helps you plan out your team composition and awakenings accordingly. When determining how much skill lock resist you should try to achieve, you need to determine how dangerous having your skills locked is. Can you stall through the binding floor without actives? If the answer is yes, you may not have to alter your subs if it hinders your performance on other floors. The same can be applied to monster binds: if the bind does not target your leaders, feel free to just stall it out instead of gimping your team with a bind clearing sub. Just remember your 2 Awoken Pandora both have the Bind Clear awakening awakening and heart generating active.

Pandora vs Scarlet
Hisnbrg@hg vs Scarlet

You also have to get into the mindset that you are not going to enter a descend guns blazing and sweep every floor. Stalling is key to success and is a challenge in itself. Thankfully, it is almost impossible to trigger a Dark row match. Therefore, just focus on healing and do not worry if sets of 3 dark orbs are matched as they will do very little damage.

  1. Hi! I think it’s worth noting that Pandora has great synergy with Zuoh the same way Akechi has with Haku in that they both produce 2/3 dark boards. It’s even better that you’ll have 2 Pandoras to fix Zuoh’s board vs 1 Akechi for Haku.

  2. Really great guide! I think for YomiDra it’d be worth mentioning he’s not a devil. Clear, concise, and entertaining as always, you’re an amazing writer!

I also found a stray typo in the PROS section of discussing Pandora:
“can be powerful provided leasders ” You put an extra “s” in “leaders” 🙂

  3. hi, thank for the awesome guide! i’m just wondering between having a full board of dark vs having dark and one other color on the board to create multiple full rows, which does more damage?
lastly, from what i’ve read on this article, it seems that generally the bulk of the dmg pandora deals is from full rows, so what about that 8+ orbs connected boost…? is it better to go for that full row boost or the 8 orb connected boost?

    1. You wish to form multiple unique rows, so your example of dark + 1 colour is stronger. Each combo adds 25% damage and unless each of the 30 dark orbs is enhanced and you get lucky with skyfalls, the rows + combos is stronger. Furthermore, the row awakenings trigger twice if your orbs are separated. I have a video of Blue Sonia that shows some of the dual colour board row matching if you are interested: https://mantasticpad.com/2016/05/04/video-blue-sonia-vs-challenge-level-9-with-ilsix-and-30-resolve/

You want to go for the 8+ connected orbs and 9 is easier to fit as you can have your horizontal 6 plus 3 darks horizontally placed on top so they are connected. This triggers your full 25x multiplier and should be done at every opportunity that requires large burst damage. Looks like:

      xxxooo
      xxxxxx

where X is your dark orbs and the o is anything else.

      Hope this helps =) .

  4. Hi,

I am wondering what is your take on Armor Batman #2827, especially when comparing to Zuoh (which I don’t have sadly…)

It lacks the sub type but consider his sub type will either bring 10% (dark) or 0% (green, as his skills will likely combo with Pandora)
I think the extra state actually is much more beneficial than a second sub type, plus the fact x1.56 on all stat

His skill I think is somewhat on par with Zuoh, it lacks synergetic with Akechi but it has heals plus haste.

Awoken is decent although not as good as Zuoh.

Of cause the biggest problem is being limited collab REM…

    1. Batman has RCV which is a big deal on Pandora teams who tend to be lacking (Zuoh has 0 base) and the ability to spawn hearts and be combo-able with Pandora is a big deal. Granted you cannot use with Akechi, but every heartbreaker can be used.

If you do not have Zuoh and are fortunate enough to have Batman, I would strongly suggest using Batman as your full board changer (especially over D/D Haku)

Batman is on par with zuoh, but may lose ground if you run akechi

  5. I rolled a few times during the final fantasy collab to try and get cecil, which is an amazing sub for pandora because he’s a full board change, and a devil (and has a lot of attacks). I didn’t get him, but I did get someone that is actually very useful: shantotto. She’s an attacker and devil with amazing awakening skills and regular skill. For a 17 CD (12 if max) for changing the top row into dark orbs and the bottom row into green orbs. Here awakening skills are 4 row dark orb enhancers. Do the math, and that’s a lot of damage for just a 9x and the devil buff that pandora gives (20.25x). That doesn’t even account if you have extra dark orbs, not on the top row. However, it is ideal that you use her when there are no or very few dark orbs on the top row because you will probably are going to use her skill probably only once (twice if you stall enough), so it’s best to save for tough monsters. I recently awakened my pandora, so most of my monsters are sort of new or haven’t been used much, but I was able to expel over a million and a half damage easy with just that monster.

    1. Shantotto is quite powerful provided you can accommodate their lack of diverse awakenings. I did write a review of them in my FF Collab analysis that states most of these points. One great aspect of his active is the ability to combo with Pandora to convert the wood rows into dark and thus having two unique rows to trigger even more burst damage. I am glad you are finding usage from a less popular card =)

  6. Hi, I was hoping for some advice for advanced setups and help with skill inheritance (thanks for your guide on that). I recently got an influx of dark subs and have quite a few options to make a “standard” team for high end content. Right now, I’m rolling with claire/aluci/zuoh/akechi as subs but also have access to z8, grisar, lu bu, eschemali (si), typhon (si), dupe hakus and pandoras, shadow dragon swordsman, yomis, apocalypse, ronia.

My initial instinct is to keep aluci as a sub due to his stellar awakenings and stats and somewhat underrated active (love it for stuff like extreme metal, generating enough orbs for a row in a pinch or making a bad 2/3 board more ideal) and inheriting haku/ahaku active to combo with akechi (kind of like this more than having haku as sub and inheriting aluci). I kind of also want another panda as a sub though. For zuoh/claire/akechi I wanted to inherit loki somewhere, perhaps inherit dupe panda if I don’t run another as sub, maybe put ronia on aluci instead etc. I’ve looked through some of the jp resources as well but am really on the fence.

Also, I like the idea of an unbindable bind clearer, so I thought of putting swordsman on lu bu and having him as a somewhat staple member because even when you don’t need damage, still a nice heartbreak. Ideally, I want to reduce the number of cards I have to 297.

    Any advice/insight is appreciated 🙂

    1. Glad you decided to comment here as well =P

In regards to your questions, the unbindable bind clear via Lu Bu is mostly for a situational sub as the extra burst is largely unneeded when you have Akechi combo with other board changers. Zuoh + Akechi is enough to kill anything.

Claire is a great candidate for a base to inherit Haku’s active. She has a 5-turn CD and also a very helpful quick charging active.

I dislike using Lucifer as a sub unless you need the true damage component. I would use another Pandora in his place as her fantastic utility, stats, and RCV (should you go bankai) are fantastic. Also, the enhanced hearts can be broken via Claire for even more burst damage.

Pandora lead, Claire (Haku inherit), Zuoh, Akechi, Bankai Pandora is a solid team. Akechi can be dropped due to low stats and awakenings and having his skill inherited, but I like that team.

      1. Thanks for your response :).

Hmm, I suspected as much, hard to let go but I suppose I don’t need the god killer probably even for arena/god-heavy dungeons. Should I make an awoken haku to inherit (kind of in general wondering if the haste is worth the +1 cd usually, kinda wondering about that for like my nepdra/I&I teams as well for inheriting my dupe karin)?

I think with hypermax team, having a 3rd awoken pandora as an additional sub, the team would have ~3500 rcv without multiplier. Also, as your guide suggested, the haste might very well be more valuable than 1 less cd. Also bankai prong and additional finger as nice but eh..

Yea I think I’ll put haku on claire, and split awoken loki or lu bu/4 or 5 turn delay(maybe…) or the heartbreak+bind clear/apocalypse or ronia/ara between the lead pandora and other three subs – I think most of my bases are covered with that.

Side question: Is 2 xm, 2 uriel, and one belial with cinderella inherit still pretty good? I rolled so much for gadius or 50k gfe and got neither but I wanna make xm work. At the same time, I realize forcing it is probably bad. I have stuff like nepdra/I&I/apandora/asakuya as high tier leaders already so maybe I don’t need another. XM is kind of a cut above, but with only 2 xm and a poor man’s gadius is it not “better enough” than the high tier leads I have now?

        Thanks for your advice.

        1. Yeah, haste is so powerful on a team that has access to it on your two leaders. Cycling skills feels pretty awesome and less stalling (and risk) is needed. For the Chinese gods and inheritance, I would always go with the awoken form as the haste is well worth the extra CD.

As for Luci, you probably deal enough damage anyway. Claire is a much better base =) Use Lubu/Loki only as needed as the damage burst is somewhat overkill

Your Belial + Cinderella Q is interesting. The main problem is Gadius is so vital to your success as he is your counter to binds. Granted Belial is also bind immune (and can inherit a bind clear), you are still missing out on a full board change + combo with Uriel for burst. Also Belial is not a healer and does not fully benefit from the HP buff or full multiplier along with no bind recover awakening (and thus no one on your team does). If you had a Gadius, I would without hesitation say use the XM, XM, Uriel, Uriel, Gadius team (unless you hate the playstyle). The Belial works and is creative, but is he max skilled? Otherwise quite a long wait and you must have a Saria inherited for board change + Uriel combo

          Like

  7. Yeah Belial has some big cons, but he slightly makes up for the damage with an extra row and higher attack, and has a decent bit more hp – also a couple of skill boosts. It didn’t seem like having only 20x on one of the subs would make the difference in a lot of cases.

The board change problem is kind of a big deal, admittedly. My plan was to inherit some combination of stuff like yamato/sanada/urd to get burst boards for high hp stuff.

Belial is unfortunately only sl2. I fed ~12-15 of those dragons and got frustrated and quit farming it after getting only one skill up :/, so I would have to wait a bit to be able to farm them again.

It certainly isn’t a perfect solution to having no gadius, but perhaps it’s still effective enough until I can perhaps roll one from a 4x gfe or something. But overall I still imagine you’d say that nepdra/i&i/apanda are generally better without the ideal xm team?

One more inheritance question (sorry for the trouble, just want some good second opinions before I fling around significant resources) concerning nepdra team inheritance. My team so far has been andro/hermes/akarin/i&i. I recently rolled a mori and am inclined to replace i&i, only losing ~200 hp, with him since I probably only need the boost for a few cases.

Another option though is to inherit him, though he has good typing/awakenings that will certainly be improved by his ult. My tentative plan was to use dupe andro, water dragon swordsman, orochi or urd maybe, dupe karin, and i&i as inherits for the team (probably would make an awoken i&i from a dupe since I don’t wanna use up my hyper one). Any advice on where to put what and who deserves the team slots?

    Thanks again for the help.

    1. Well the thing about Gadius is he is your best counter to binds due to his bind immunity, bind recovery, and board change active. He solves numerous issues by himself and without him, you will feel quite vulnerable. Belial has less HP & ATK due to no multiplier bonus, also he has less RCV which is your main limiting factor on XM teams. Also, if he is not max skilled, you are going to have some major problems with waiting. I would hold off on purchasing a XM as you are missing one of her core subs.

Your other teams will clear similar level of content (maybe more) and XM will rotate back eventually so no need to rush into a purchase.

As for inheritance options on Neptune Dragon, Mori is a strong candidate, just be aware that you are going to have to wait for a VERY long time to use his active. Dropping I&I for Mori makes sense for most content as you should have more than enough damage in most cases.

The thing about Skill Inheritance (SI) is that it is not mandatory. I only use it on a select few cards as a means to bridge gaps in my team. You always want Andro, Hermes, Karin, and Mori’s active. You would only be situationally inheriting something onto something like Awoken Isis as a means to counter binds. You have the bind clear and bind immunity, but can use an orb changer once that part of the dungeon is over. Of course you can inherit something onto your Neptune Dragon as his active (and friend’s) are weak and you do not need 2.

For example, my friend and I were doing Linthia M+ with Lakshmi. I inherited Hatsume (to combo with Ryune) on my Lakshmi and she put Ra onto hers. We did not modify our subs and only did what was needed to counter the dungeon

      1. Yeah…It’s too bad gadius is that core. 80ish rolls on pcgf and only gfe was lkali 😥

I probably am a little too overzealous. It’s just that I’m always a slight step behind the meta and hype so it gets frustrating >.<.

Mori on nepdra does worry me as I'd need to wait a good ~22 turns for mori active :/. I'll probably choose andro.

I guess I am overvaluing SI. The subs' actives are pretty good already. Maybe I'll put water swordsman on isis to not worry about having the bind clear in that short 3 turn window. I don't think I want isis as a permasub though, so I don't really wanna hyper it for situational use (though I guess I could find other teams for it), but that could make a difference so idk I'll have to consider it more. I suppose in general I'll be more sparing with inheritance.

        Thanks again.

  9. What are your thoughts on A. Persephone vs. D/R Persephone in replacing Akechi on A. Panda/UUEvo Panda/Zuoh/Akechi/Claire team?

    Maybe something like –

    A. Panda
    UUEvo Panda (Inherit Delay)
    Zuoh
    A. Persephone
    Claire (Inherit Castor)
    A. Panda (Inherit Apocalypse)

3 heart OE would be a lot of extra RCV. Main issue would be bind clearing.

    Like

    1. The thing about dropping Akechi from your team is you lose out on the enhanced dark orb component. Granted you should be able to have high burst damage already, but it is something to consider, especially if tackling high end content as you do not have any extra damage enhance. Yes, Zuoh -> Pandora is strong, just something to consider and test prior to dropping from the team.

Your proposed team (and SI choices) is strong and A Persephone is a very powerful option who will help address the RCV problem. The skyfall mechanic is also helpful and the enhanced orbs do add modest damage to your team in lieu of Akechi. Lastly, you are always going to struggle with bind clearing and you need to determine if you can work around it (aka not preemptive leader binds)

    1. Zuoh and Hanzo are a powerful combo if you want to conserve your leader skills.

Loki is largely unneeded and Ronia is the wrong colour. Anubis competes with Pandora for wood (but has nice RCV) and Haku is mostly outclassed by Zuoh.

Its a bit hard to work with those cards, but if you had to, I would do Zuoh, Hanzo, and either Loki, Anubis, Haku. Just choose what you need more =)

        1. Just be careful of using too many Zuohs due to 0 base RCV. His active is stronger, but you may find it challenging to heal. Would work fine in short dungeons where stalling is not needed

This on a 10 turn cd seems with devil type seems to make typhon the ideal bind clear sub. However I am pretty new and would like your thoughts:)

I’ll give her a first try with this team: Zuoh, Bankai Pandora as a compensation for Zuoh 0 RCV, Hanzo as a fast orb changer and DDHaku. I’m lacking a SBR and an unbindable bind clearer (still waiting for NA/EU release of Bankai Lu Bu: bind clear + SBR – my only option is a SI DMeta/cd 10 heartbreaker-bind clearer).

Other fully evolved dark devils I own are Lumiel, Lu Bu, Gryps Rider (and Lilith as a situational sub), also Awoken Lucifer is on the way.

    Any suggestion?

    Like

    1. Zuoh, Bankai Pandora, and Hanzo are all great options. D/D Haku is not worthwhile as you already have Zuoh and she does not bring much to the party. If starved for RCV, Lilith is a respectable option as she has reasonable awakenings and situational active (1.5x enhance and poison)

You may be better running a Lucifer team once you get him up and running as he is much stronger now due to SI and can use Gods and Devils

        1. Yomi Dragon is still arguably the best dark bind-immune card; however, with the advent of skill inheritance, Dark Metatron may be the superior option as she can inherit a bind clear active while providing 3 row enhances. The need for Yomi D is diminishing and we need to see if Lucifer teams receive new cards to use to see if it is worthwhile

        1. Summer Pandora works similarly to Uuevo Pandora and I would still replace Loki unless you really need the burst damage. If you inherit Satsuki onto Claire, you gain a 2/3 dark board + 1/3 fire and could potentially have enough burst that way without bringing Loki (who is mostly used only on Kali)

    Lilith +:
    Necessary for Arena 2
Can fuse into more permanent sub later on for 200+’s
    High RCV
    Lilith -:
For Arena 1 and most other dungeons, useless skill
    Low HP

    Akechi +:
    Great awakenings and AS
    Akechi -:
    Already have one on team
Can’t really fuse into a more optimal card in the future to transfer +’s
Will be a while before skilled up

I’m pretty stuck as to which one to invest in, so I any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    p.s. great guide 🙂

    1. I would take it one step at a time. Focus on Arena 1 and remember coop exists to make the active management easier.

Aside from Lilith and second Akechi, who else do you have at your disposal? The second Akechi can be used as an assistant for Skill Inheritance (eg. placing on Uuevo Pandora). Let me know what else you have to work with

This is just my personal opinion, but Arena 2 is not a good place to farm. It has too many unpredictable spawns that simply ruin your day (Vishnu and Ilsix to name some) and the reward is not much better than A1 outside of satisfaction. Regardless, lets get you an Arena 1 clear!

Lastly, pluses are much easier to get now (10 + per 25 stam in Star Den) so you will have a 297 team sooner than later

      1. Thanks for the quick reply! That was kind of my thought process — to focus on Arena 1 first. My only other options would be 1) Cyberdragon Diadem (I’ve used before, useful actives and AS but non-devil) and 2) maybe Anubis? I haven’t got much else. Would dual Akechi really be that bad that I’d use one of the above instead of it? And one other thing that I realized — Lilith’s poison can also be useful for resolve bosses, which are quite the pain.

With that in mind, what do you think? I realize that +’s are MUCH easier to obtain now, but I’d like to avoid fusing 200 into something that might be temporary / nontransferable. Thanks!

        1. One more thing: I just realized I also have neptune, who’s awoken form has AS: poison enemies and devil/attacker 2.5x atk for 1 turn, 15 CD. Could this be a viable skill inherit for, say, claire for predra/kali situations? If so, I wouldn’t need lilith on my actual team, which narrows down my choices. Sorry, this just got more complicated — I just want to make sure I consider everything before making this investment. I’ve got too many monsters that need + to let any go to waste. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated! 🙂

          1. Most resolve bosses have a status shield so the poison idea will mostly go to waste. However, it does work against Hino which is a dangerous spawn in Arena

I would stick to all devils as you need all the RCV you can get. Anubis acts as a pseudo board changer-saver due to the removal of poison orbs but competes with Pandora for wood orbs. However, his stats are quite high and the large time extends make a difference. He could be used as a base for your Akechi and also doubles as a bind clearer if you should inherit that. However, I still would not put pluses on him as you will probably find someone better in the future, but he can be successfully used in the mean time.

Inheriting Neptune is a viable way to provide burst damage and Claire is the best base for that (she could also inherit Akechi should you find a better vampire replacement).

My main concern with Pandora teams is low RCV combined with the need to stall for actives

Are Pandora, Akechi, Claire, and Zuoh all +297?

            Like

            1. Everything (except vamp) ranges from 220 – 297, but the caveat is that most are maxed in ATK and HP, meaning RCV is by far the lowest across the board. My current team is sitting at 2500RCV, so a little over 3k with helper. Thus you make a good point about Anubis — his high stats (esp. 600 RCV) allow him to rival a +200~ Akechi/Lilith even unplussed, which helps my investment dilemma and allows me to save +’s. Skill inheriting for bindclear is also a very powerful ability for a devil team that I hadn’t considered. So I guess it comes down to 2 decisions that I’d love your input on: (1) finding the most optimal sub for my team, and (2) where to put/store my +s. It seems that regardless of (1) I shouldn’t be +ing Anubis or Akechi, so what if I just dumped 200 into Lilith? I could eventually use her on the team to clear Arena 2 if I’d like, or if I get lucky enough to pull a better sub, I wouldn’t feel too bad fusing her. However I could also dump them into my secondary teams ASakuya/ADQXQ, which I like to play but don’t plan on beating Arena with any time soon. So, I’d like to hear your final thoughts, and sorry, I promise this is the last of it ^_^

              1. Sorry, l lied, last thing, I promise. I don’t know if this makes a difference, but JP just released Akechi’s new ult (+2 rows, + 1 SB, if I read it right http://puzzledragonx.com/en/news.asp?nid=564). Boasting FOUR rows, 2 SB and improved stats, is it now viable to include & plus a second Akechi, or better to wait and hopefully pull a panda#2? (If it changes anything, the 200 eggs I have consists of +99HP & +99RCV, so his RCV would be decent should I chose him).

                1. Akechi just drastically shot up in power! His active is one of the best in the game and now that he has a fantastic body, he makes a viable sub. Only problem is waiting for him to come to NA

I would not plus Anubis, just use him as needed for bind clears. Lilith is not worth the pluses as you would want them soon and may end up fusing her away prematurely

As for DQXQ, her team is amazing (my current fav) so she is worth investing imo

                  1. In your opinion, would it be viable to use 2 Akechis on a team in light of the new ult? The fact that standard teams today utilize 3 of the same Panda actives makes me think that 2 Akechis (better skill, more rows, and now respectable stats) is justified. Could the new “optimal” panda team replace UUevo panda with another Akechi, or is his RCV (assuming it doesn’t get substantially buffed) still too low?

                    1. I wouldn’t replace Uuevo pandora because she provides a huge healing burst through the enhanced heart orbs along with time extend (which the team badly needs imo)

  15. I was wondering
Could you use something like A. Meimei’s board change+ haste skill inherited onto a low CD monster as a “poor man’s” Zuoh?
I’m short a sub and I have a fully skilled and awoken A. Meimei and plenty of dark devil monsters sitting around and taking up space.
My current build is A. Panda/Bankai Panda/Ronia/Akechi/Flex/A. Panda friend
I plan on replacing Ronia as soon as I get something else with rows or get Zuoh.

Until next GF, I’m stuck with what I have already.
Last GF didn’t give me what I needed.
I got lim instead of Zuoh and I have literally no light monsters at all.

      Phone autocorrected it haha

And 90% of the time, my flex spot is usually D/D Haku but I swap depending on the dungeon.

      1. I still read lim as Ilm =P

As for Meimei’s active, that is a very solid choice and a way to make your own budget Zuoh (who makes hearts now). You can inherit Meimei onto your flex sub’s active and who ideally has high rcv and low base CD.

I actually use Awoken Karin on my Claire for the same result (just doesn’t make hearts like Meimei after Pandora)

        1. I actually replaced Ronia with my IS A. Meimei sub and that haste made my day 100x better.
Cleared Myr descended with it!! Thanks for your help!!

  16. Hi, I finally have my awoken Pandora and I tried to build my (still premature) team around her. Using your guide (I tried) I have with her Anubis, Haku (2nd evo), Yomi (2nd), and Akechi Mitsuhide, and switching to H Alarune when I need to. Does that look okay? For reference, I also have Nepthys, Sephiroth, Goetia, Sleeping Beauty, another Haku, Fallen Lucifer, and Hanzo. Thank you!!

    1. I would swap out Yomi for Hanzo as he can combo with your Haku and is a quick orb changer

Over time, you will phase out Anubis, but keep him there for now as he has high RCV

  17. I think you could add the new ulti evo of Lu Bu in, with the Bind Recovery and the SBR awakening, I think he start to be a really good sub in A.Pandora Team! What do you think?

    Like

    1. He is becoming a much stronger devil sub now with his new Ult evo

Fantastic damage enhance and ability to passively clear binds would make him wonderful as he has flexibility

  18. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but Awoken Pandora gives x1.25 for all stats, + additional multiplier for 4+ dark orbs. Her attack multiplier is actually something like x1.56 ~ x39
