Godfest basics
When making the decision to roll or save your magic stones, you need to determine if the featured pantheons can benefit or compliment your teams. Chasing for one specific monster is unwise as you will most likely be disappointed and should ideally have Godfests that overlap with many target cards. Remember all monsters that come out of the REM will qualify for Skill Inheritance so do not be too hasty when selling dupes. For a more detailed team building help, please refer to my full list Popular Leader’s and their Full Sub List Post. Lastly, to find more information about a specific pantheon or monster, refer to my Master List to better refine your search.
Introduction
The One True Pairings Godfest coincides with the June Bride REM and gives players a challenging decision to make as where to spend their Magic Stones. This Godfest features a diverse array of powerful leaders and subs along with the soon to be Awoken 3 Kingdoms Pantheon. We have also just had the highly anticipated Awoken DQXQ who should be some indication as to the power the 3 Kingdoms have in store for us. It is just unfortunate they are being paired with the lackluster Egyptian 2. For Day 2, the featured Norse Pantheon contains some of the most desired mono colour subs along with fantastic leads in their own right. Lastly, the Samurai series features some of the strongest actives in the game who are phenomenal as an assistant for Skill Inheritance.

jjj Day 2 |

Day 1:
The Three Kingdoms are finally starting to get their awoken evolutions, but are still considered some of the strongest subs in the game with only an ultimate evolution. This is because they combine fantastic awakenings, unique active skills, and great synergy for their respective teams. However, with all that being said, their Awoken Evolutions are starting to be released and will hopefully find their way to North America soon that will cause a dramatic shift in the meta and powercreep. Overall, the Three Kingdoms are one of the strongest pantheons and are worth pursuing.
On the other hand, the Egyptian 2 pantheon is in an awkward place in today’s meta. They are a relatively new pantheon, but old enough to not have kept pace with the rate of powercreep. Furthermore, none of these cards have an awoken evolution (and probably will not for some time) and this further diminishes their value. Relatively speaking, they make reasonable subs for their respective teams, but may be outclassed by other options.
Rolling in Day 1 will mostly be for the coveted Three Kingdom gods who all have a solidified place on their respective teams. If only we had a better pairing than Egyptian 2.

Cao Cao Dragon / Attacker –— Attacker / God — 1 turn delay 9 turn CD |
Cao Cao is an incredibly powerful mono fire sub due to his active combining an orb change and delay along with synergistic awakenings. is best matched with Awoken Shiva due to the heavy reliance on TPA awakenings. However, you can still use him to great success on Gadius and Raoh teams due to the single awakening and being the only high end delay fire monsters have.
One thing to keep in mind is that his other evolution will gain Dragon Killer and another awakening which is more suitable to fire row teams (who still need a good leader) along with God typing (which mean Shiva Dragon sub potential). |
Awoken Sun Quan Healer / Physical —- 2 turn delay. 2x ATK water for 2 turns 13 turn CD —- Sun Quan Dragon / Healer —- God / Healer 2 turn delay, 2x ATK Healer types for 2 turns 13 turn CD |
Awoken Sun Quan now is able to enhance water type monsters for 2 turns instead of healers. This is quite a dramatic shift as it opens up new opportunities to use for both usage as a sub and assistant via Skill Inheritance. As a sub, Awoken Sun Quan can be used on every mono-water team as a replacement for Awoken I&I as your damage enhancement and his physical typing grants him a spot on Blue Sonia teams. In addition, he is capable of covering the water/fire attributes on rainbow teams although his active will mostly be used for the 2 turns of delay.
As a leader, Awoken Sun Quan is capable of forming a 36x ATK / 4x RCV team when matching Fire and Water along with using an active skill. This could be paired with Awoken Hermes to bolster your HP, but the awkwardness and low output will probably have him used mostly as a sub. In his other evolution forms, Sun Quan is a powerful and highly desired sub as he can cover the awkward water and wood elements on rainbow teams along with providing 2 turns of delay. The 2x damage for healers is simply icing on the cake, but may benefit numerous cards. With the advent of awakenings buff, his other evolution has relevance due to possessing a skill lock resist and dragon killer awakenings along with regaining the god typing. This is important for Neptune Dragon , Awoken Ra , and Ra Dragon teams as the added god typing allows you to benefit from their full leader skill. Sun Quan is also an excellent candidate for Skill Inheritance as the delay can prove invaluable.

Awoken Liu Bei Physical / Attacker —- + 20% Max HP heal and 2 turn bind clear 10 turn CD —- Liu Bei Dragon / Attacker —- God / Attacker —- + 3,000 HP heal 10 turn CD |
Liu Bei was once regarded as a superstar wood sub when Awoken Bastet reigned supreme. However, his star has fallen quite far from grace and is in an awkward position due to his awakenings and active synergy while we wait for his Awoken evolution. But once Awoken Liu Bei goes live, his star will once again soar into the heavens as both a super star lead and sub.
Awoken Liu Bei seems to do it all, double orb change, 20% maximum HP heal, 2 turns of bind clear while being bind immune, and a 64x ATK lead that stacks wood rows . Perhaps it is his leadership potential that has everyone frantically scrambling to prepare a button team for coop farming. Double Liu Beis are capable of forming a 64x ATK / 4x RCV team when matching 9+ connected wood orbs. Thankfully, the future ultimate evolution Zeus Dios makes your life easy by being able to convert the entire board into wood on a 15-turn cooldown. Thus, coop teams would fill their sub roster with multiple Zeus Dios and simply button their way to victory. 0 skill required. Outside of a brainless and powerful leadership role, Awoken Liu Bei can be used as a sub on mono wood teams as a bind clearing sub who also is able to generate numerous wood orbs. In addition, the 20% heal has more impact on teams that multiply health or while playing coop. Liu Bei’s Wood/Fire evolution has an incredible 3 TPA awakenings However, Liu Bei’s active makes TPA combo arrangements challenging because of the chance of wood overflow. A double orb changer is better suited to oriented teams, but his awakenings puts him behind when compared to Australis or G/D Artemis . Regardless, once Awoken Liu Bei goes live, most players will immediately convert him into a superstar coop leader. |
DQXQ God / Dragon —- 8 turn CD |
Awoken DQXQ is finally reuniting the two sisters to form a rainbow/light row hybrid leader who can achieve 100x damage! This has incredible burst potential while catering to players who enjoy rainbow teams as you are still required to match 4 elements. Furthermore, you are able to control your damage as your multiplier scales from 16-100x based on the number of linked water or light orbs. This is invaluable when facing content that has specific damage absorption shields. Unfortunately, Awoken DQXQ is vulnerable to binds and also lost her bind recover awakening so you will need to carefully plan your team roster before tackling a dungeon. Furthermore, her lack of an HP or RCV multiplier may cause you problems when stalling or recovering from a large preemptives. However, you have immense sub flexibility due to skill inheritance and should be able to address any problematic mechanic. I strongly encourage you to read my detailed analysis of her HERE as I go into greater detail for team building and strategies. She is also my new favourite lead and have been almost playing her exclusively since her debut to clear essentially all the current content available.
Branching away from her leadership potential, Awoken DQXQ or her L/L evolution act as a powerhouse mono light sub due to synergistic awakenings and complimenting active. She finds an ideal home on Saria / Thor teams and can also act as a pseudo bind clearer through (in her L/L form) and a row of hearts provided she herself is not bound. L/L can also be found on Awoken Ama or any other healer team as a staple sub. For beginner players, any evolution DQXQ is a fantastic starting leader who will teach you comboing skills and provide a steady 16x multiplier. You can also mix and match with other rainbow leads to augment your damage output at the cost of a harder to activate multiplier. Overall, DQXQ is an incredibly powerful monster for beginner and veteran players. Also, two is better than one and I am thankful GungHo reunited the sisters. |
Lu Bu God / Devil / Dragon —- 3x ATK for devils. HP set to 1 11 turn CD |
Chaotic Flying General, Lu Bu has a fantastic name that will only become more spectacular with his newly created Bankai Evolution. Outside the new SBR and bind recover awakening, Lu Bu has finally got his Dragon (and now Dragon typing) back! The bind recovery is especially valuable for your dark/devil teams as you now have a more reliable means to take care of binds. Many players were already using Lu Bu as a base for Skill Inheritance to counteract preemptive binds, but you may be able to have more flexibility due to his ability to remove binds with a horizontal heart orb match.
As a sub, Lu Bu can be found on Awoken Lucifer and Awoken Pandora teams as the largest single turn nuke (ties with King Baddie ) and emergency bind clear if needed. Some may argue that a 3x nuke is excessive; however, with the pace of powercreep in end game dungeons, we may have to call upon Lu Bu’s active more in the coming months. As a leader, Lu Bu provides 2x HP and 4.5x ATK for devil types when a skill is used (3x with no skill). This allows him to form a powerful tank team that can be paired with Pandora, Lucifer, or the future Nobunaga to form a 2x HP / 40.5x ATK / 1.5x RCV devil team. That’s 40.5x ATK on a dark row team. You will obliterate everything when combined with Lu Bu’s active. Move over Red Sonia . |
Day 2
The Sengoku pantheon is surprisingly powerful even without the release of an awoken, let alone ultimate evolution. This is nearly unheard of in today’s meta of cards having 7+ awakenings and 800+ base stats. However, their actives are on par or stronger than many awoken forms and this is what makes them shine bright. I can only imagine the kind of power they will have once they do receive additional evolutions. In the mean time, they are fantastic options for assistants via Skill Inheritance.
To make this day better, the Norse Gods all have their awoken forms and grant 2x damage for their primary and sub elements along with forming powerful tank teams. They are mostly used on their respective mono-colour teams, but can sometimes play a role in rainbow teams due to enhancing two colours and providing double skill lock resist awakenings. As such, they can also be used as assistants for Skill Inheritance for the dual enhancing active. Lastly, by boosting damage for two turns, you can use on the floor prior to the boss to ensure you sweep it while conserving your other actives.
In summation, Day 2 has fantastic value and is well worth rolling if you are missing many of the featured Gods as they all bring value to your teams as leads, subs, and assistants through Skill Inheritance.

Sanada God / Attacker —- 8 turn CD |
Sanada is a sleeping powerhouse as he has a spectacular active that combines both a double orb changer and fire orb enhance while still lacking an ultimate/awoken evolution. With his god typing, Sanada can successfully be used on Shiva Dragon teams. Unfortunately, the enhancing component goes to waste on Awoken Shiva teams and currently, fire row based teams lack a powerful leader outside of Raoh . However, with the release of the ultimate evolution of Gadius , Sanada gains a clearly defined role on a heart/fire row team.
However, Sanada’s active is a fantastic option for Skill Inheritance as he combines fire and heart orb generation along with fire orb enhancement. Lastly, he can be combo-ed with Mori for a full board of enhanced fire orbs. |
Mori Motonari God / Physical —- All + 2 haste 14 turn CD |
Mori Motonari has less popularity because of the abundance of full board changers who are water types. This may change in the future when he receives an ultimate evolution, but for now, Mori may be sidelined if your water sub pool is deep like the ocean. Furthermore, his skill up material is tedious to acquire and may be challenging to max skill. Noteworthy teams he can make an appearance on are Neptune Dragon , Blue Sonia , and Awoken I&I / Ryune . His board change does work for Awoken Hermes , but you are gambling on a bi-colour board that is skewed to water.
However, with the advent of Skill Inheritance, Mori may have more options as he can be used for both Neptune Dragon and Shiva Dragon as a bi-colour board changer with two turns of haste. The haste allows these two dragons to feel similar to their original actives. Just a word of caution, Mori’s has a very long cooldown, and you may have to wait longer than is ideal to use his active through skill inheritance. |
Mitsunari God / Attacker —- All + 2 haste 13 turn CD |
Mitsunari is a seldom seen wood monster as wood row teams are still developing with mainly Sylvie / Freyja teams being a good home for the row based Mitsunari . Mitsunari is outclassed by Verdandi and Sylvie on TPA teams. The 2 turns of haste adds too many turns to the cooldown and coupled with a challenging to acquire skill up material, may have you waiting too long.
Perhaps with the release of an ultimate evolution will grant Mitsunari more feasibility or with creative skill inheritance uses for Dark and Wood teams (can combo with Pandora for a 2/3 dark board). |
Keiji God / Balance —- All Random + haste 8 turn CD |
Keiji has an interesting active as he will randomly change your board. This will remove locked orbs as well as give the chance at cascades to occur. If a cascade does trigger, all of your cooldowns will decrease by 1 and the boss will not retaliate. However, due to the randomness of the board change, you are not guaranteed 3 of each element. This creates an inherit risk when using Keiji ‘s active on rainbow teams. He is largely eclipsed by Light and Dark Kali due to lower stats and no guaranteed spawns. Keiji will mostly be used on Sakuya , Awoken Ra , and Ra Dragon teams.
However, many players will value Keiji for his board refresh active as an assistant for Skill Inheritance. This can be easily transfered onto your team and even mono-colour teams may benefit as a means to remove locked orbs. With an ultimate evolution, Keiji may find more viability, but also keep him in mind for when Skill Inheritance comes to NA. |
Akechi God / Devil —- 8 turn CD |
Akechi has been catapulted into the ranks of one of the most desired dark monsters in the game. This is because he combines both a double orb changer and damage enhance into a single active. Furthermore, Akechi has incredible synergy with Haku or Zuoh to create a 2/3 board of dark orbs that are enhanced. You can find him on all high end dark teams including Yomi Dragon , Awoken Lucifer , and Awoken Pandora . Overall an amazing card to own and will only become more incredible with an ultimate evolution.
With the introduction of Skill Inheritance, many players are opting to use Akechi as an assistant to benefit from his incredible active while we wait for better awakenings and stats. |

Freyr Attacker / Physical —- 2x ATK Fire & Water. 1 turn haste 12 turn CD |
Freyr is the first of the Norse God series and finally ditched the little pigs in favours of two magnificent swords and a majestic rainbow. Amusing art aside, Freyr is an amazing card for augmenting your Firepower. His awakenings bring a healthy mix of offensive and defensive utility and the double SBR eases team building. Unfortunately, you cannot use Freyr on Shiva Dragon and Xiang Mei teams which are arguably the strongest for fire. This can be frustrating as Awoken Shiva and Gadius are your next best options as a sub.
As a leader, Freyr pairs wonderfully with Raoh to form a powerful 1.5x HP / 14.625x ATK / 2.5x RCV team for Attacker and Devil types while prioritizing fire rows . Tank teams are able to effectively stall on most floors and can unleash amazing burst damage through orb changers and Freyr’s active. Through Skill Inheritance, Awoken Freyr is able to be used as an assistant for both fire and water teams. |
I&I Physical / Devil —- 2x ATK Water & Dark. 1 turn haste 12 turn CD |
Awoken Idunn&Idunna doubles both your fun and damage! They are perhaps Puzzle and Dragon’s most loved pair (although DQXQ is a strong contender) and it is no surprise GungHo has kept them relevant through a powerful Awoken evolution. I&I is a staple sub on every high end water team as her physical typing allows her to be used on Blue Sonia . Other teams include Awoken Karin , Hermes , Lakshmi , and Skuld . Even without a god typing, You may still elect to use her on Neptune Dragon teams due to the sheer power of her active and awakenings.
I&I also pair wonderfully well with Ryune to form a 2x HP / 14.06x ATK / 2.5x RCV team that is capable of clearing essentially all the content PAD has to offer. For a more detailed analysis, please read my Full Guide for more information on team building and strategy. I&I / Ryune teams are effective due to their high survivability that allows them to stall on what would normally be dangerous floors for other teams. They can effectively control their damage and choose when to unleash amazing burst damage and sweep a floor. Through Skill Inheritance, Awoken I&I is able to be used as an assistant for both water and dark teams. Overall, I&I is a highly desired monster due to their sub and leadership potential and fantastic art work. |
Freyja Devil / Attacker —- 2x ATK Wood & Dark. 1 turn haste 12 turn CD |
Freyja is a mono wood powerhouse with 3 wood row awakenings. Many wood teams are shifting towards a more row oriented playstyle, and Freyja is leading the charge. When paired with Sylvie , you form a tanky 2x HP / 14.06x ATK / 2.5x RCV team that is capable of clearing end game content. Unfortunately, your sub pool is less diverse compared to water teams, and their popularity is diminished compared to I&I / Ryune . You may be able to form a fantastic mono wood team, but may struggle to find dedicated friends.
As a sub, Freyja works on all mono wood teams as your strongest option for damage enhancement. Furthermore, her devil typing allows you to use her on the restrictive Awoken Astaroth . Lastly, the two SBR alleviates some team building stress and allows for more sub flexibility. Through Skill Inheritance, Awoken Freyja is able to be used as an assistant for both wood and dark teams. |
Thor Devil / Attacker —- 2x ATK Light & Water. 1 turn haste 12 turn CD |
Thor is sadly not the hunky beefcake you see flying around in cinemas and his art work may make you cringe upon closer inspection. Poor art and fashion choices aside, Thor is an incredible mono light card as both a sub and leader. When used as a leader, he pairs wonderfully with Saria to form a 2x HP / 14.06x ATK / 2.5x RCV tank team that has an amazing sub pool to draw upon. For further reading and team building advice, please read my Full Guide. Light has a fantastic array of subs to draw upon that are row oriented and can easily surpass 10 row awakenings with the right subs. You are able to safely stall on various bosses and can unleash spectacular burst damage with your various orb changers.
As a sub, Thor can be found on mono light and rainbow teams due to his light and water enhancement. Most rainbow teams are light heavy and by granting 2x damage, you should safely sweep any floor. Perhaps his most synergetic rainbow pairing is on Awoken DQXQ as she greatly benefits from his 3 row enhances. Furthermore, Ra Dragon teams could use Thor despite the lack of god typing if you (for some reason) need the damage enhancement and the two SBR awakenings. You can also utilize Thor’s active for skill inheritance as a means to conserve sub slots of those have more favourable awakenings/typing. Through Skill Inheritance, Awoken Thor is able to be used as an assistant for both water and light teams. |
Loki Physical / Devil —- 2x ATK Dark & Light. 1 turn haste 12 turn CD |
Loki is the last of the Norse Gods and has the highly desired Devil typing. This allows him to be fully utilized on both Awoken Pandora and Awoken Lucifer teams as a powerful 2x damage enhancemer. Some players will argue the necessity on using Loki on Pandora teams as with the right orb changer combos, you should be able to obliterate any boss in the game. However, he is almost mandatory on Lucifer teams for high end content. The enhanced heart orb awakening augments your healing potential and can be used in conjunction with other heart breaking actives to produce enhanced dark orbs. Without a God typing, Loki will most likely not be used on Yomi Dragon teams in favour of stronger options. Other potential teams Loki can make an appearance on are Awoken Yomi and Dark Metatron .
Another interesting aspect of Awoken Loki is his potential as a rainbow sub due to his light and dark enhancement. Many rainbow teams are light heavy and the additional dark coverage and two skill bind resists ease team building constraints while still providing damage enhancement. Overall, Loki is a vital sub for mono dark teams who wish to push end game content as he allows you to safely burst the most durable of bosses. |
Conclusion
Day 2 is a much stronger day to roll for as all of the featured gods fulfill valuable roles as leaders, subs, and assistants via Skill Inheritance. Day 1 could have been incredible as the Three Kingdoms are some of the strongest cards in the game and are near the top in terms of power due to their newly released evolutions.
Let me know what you hope to roll this Godfest and how many stones you have saved up/budgeting.
Happy Puzzling!
I won’t have many rolls on this godfest, as I blew all my stones on the June Bride REM. Well, five actually were accidentally spent on the regular REM, as I was speeding through the menus too fast and hit the wrong machine. It didn’t go too bad, as I did get a Hanzo, but I would have rather used the June Bride machine. Anyways, I’ll probably be rolling on day two because the Samurai series is just so good in general, and because I have a million (more like 3) random Sylvie friends and plenty of good wood row subs, so a Freyja would be nice.

Well Hanzo is quite a reasonable roll considering it was outside of Godfest. Can combo with Haku and Zuoh so you got that going for you =)
I agree with you that day 2 is far better as both pantheons are very powerful and relevant

I got a Fire Dragon Swordman…he has a +…and…¿is a good skill to SI, I guest? >_<

The Fire Dragon Swordsman is quite powerful for skill inheritance as doubles as a bind clear and fire orb generator. The galas switch over on Day 2 I believe.
Are you going to roll any more oO

I don’t think so. I already have a max lvl Akechi and an Awoken Loki is a future project so I thing I will pass.

One roll on June Bride machine: Achechi (oh yeah!). (very) Long term program: Awoken DQXQ team
Three rolls on day 2 Godfest: Mitsunari, Okunikushi, Thanatos.
I’m a non-IAP player, but I felt lucky*: DMeta (my to go team) with inherited Shadow Dragon Knight, DD Haku, AHaku, 2x Hanzo, Lu Bu, Bankai Pandora and a second Pandora I want to awoken.
Is Thanatos of any use for skill Inheritance?
* and very unlucky when we talk about red cards
A bit OT: What do You think about Beach Valk and/or Beach Pandora in a DMeta or an APandora teams? Do You think it’s worth saving stones ’til PAD Island REM?
Thank you for your blog, it’s very very useful!
(I’m sorry for my bad English, but I’m an Italian who studied French ^^’)

Forgot to mention I also have got Zuoh, Satsuki and Lucifer.

Your English is far better than my French or Italian =P
Congrats on your Akechi! What a Fantastic roll! He will be a great asset on your future DQXQ team
Thanatos is not much use as there are very few situations where you need to resist light damage.
Beach Valk and Summer Pandora are powerful cards, but considering you are non/light IAP, it is not worth pursuing a rare Collab roll as the rates are horribly low. Also, the Valkyrie is only slightly better than her REM counterpart while Pandora is on par.
You probably do not need Lu Bu on your team and would be better off with an orb changer (unless you need the HP reset). Also, try to find a friend to pair with that has a powerful active as Dark Metatron’s is not that needed.

Thanks for your advice 🙂
I think Lu Bu is pretty solid (HP reset, unbindable, 2 rows – can’t wait for his Bankai evo) but I felt he’s a bit situational. Unlukily I haven’t too many options for a orb changer: Lumiel, Vector Finn, Zuoh all with lvl. 1 skill (six runs on Mytichal Prison last friday: five angelits, one devilit ) and an unevolved Hamal. Actually I can trow in a DD Haku (lvl. 4 skill) or a Bankai Pandora (lvl. 2 skill), the latter can be comboed with inherited Shadow Dragon Knight. Luckily a couple of friends have Eastern Seven Star Formation on their DMeta.
One last thing: I’m approaching 300k MP, should I get Yomidra?

Thanks for your detailed analysis! I was really hoping to pull DQXQ or Liu Bei from this godfest, so I blew 11 rolls on day 1… only to get a bunch of troll golds and silvers (read: Chrono Turtle and Basilisk). The only decent pulls I had were Hathor, Osiris, and Sherias. Sherias is turning out to be a wonderful gem of a card, since he has an L. Kali active and is a decently strong leader, good enough for most content (maybe not late endgame, though). I’m finding it hard to find Sherias friends, though…
LikeLike
Yeah, Sherias is quite a good early-mid game lead, but you won’t find many friends due to how new they are and the whole-host of other leads available. However, you will still gain great value from Skill Inheritance or as a sub =)
Hopefully Hathor and Osiris receive meaningful evolutions soon
