A Puzzle and Dragons Myracle

Introduction

After my dissapointing 5x GFE Godfest, I was left a little sad by my lack of REM luck. Thankfully, GungHo had introduced Myr Miru to North America and she has proven to be one of the strongest leaders in the game while being completely farmable. If you wish to read more about team building, please check out my article HERE. If you want some sample clears of how to farm her without MP Dragons, please click HERE. I had already cleared Arena 2 with DQXQ Awoken DQXQ but was still at the mercy to RNG for certain floor spawns (Ilsix being the most noteworthy) and had maybe a 50% clear rate. However, after using Myr a few times (and actually practicing the heart-cross mechanics), I was able to essentially farm Arena 2 and the only deaths would occur form human error. As such, I decided to test my luck and fingering skills in Arena 3 where something truly Myraculous occurred.

Team and explanation

When deciding which subs to bring for any challenging encounter, you want to maximize their value by striking a balance between active synergy, awakenings, and base stats. Through Skill Inheritance, you are able to further customize your team to your liking by bringing ideal bodies who can then inherit a stronger active. Of course, you have to use what you are given and it can make for some interesting team compositions.

For my latent choices, the Recovery RCV Latent and HP Imp HP have 4x the value on Myr teams due to the 75% damage reduction shield.

Screenshots and whatnot

Like in real life, I tend to not take many pictures and there are relatively few documenting my Arena 3 journey. I plan to stream runs in the future so be sure to check me out at https://www.twitch.tv/mantasticpad every Monday and Thursday at 6pm PST. However, for this Arena 3 clear, I encountered Sopdet, Ilsix, and DQ Hera prior to encountering Hera Dragon on floor 22.

The amazing thing about Myr teams is you have effectively 4x the listed HP (and RCV/auto healing) when you form a heart cross. I actually tank Ilsix’s enrage attack when under 30% HP to conserve actives as I effectively have 191k+ health. Hera Dragon is very scary as she absorbs over 2 million damage and has 39 million HP (The Radar Dragons are much scarier than the Kalis). Furthermore, she will alternate hitting you for 86k+ damage and restoring you to full health. You eventually die as the damage becomes too overwhelming so it essentially becomes a race against the clock. Due to the fact she is dark, I have to deal under 1 million damage to prevent her healing. This can be done via a heart cross and 2 light combos or a single TPA (on Fantastic, Mantastic’s Apollo will hit too hard). I had a surprise light TPA skyfall on turn 4 which gave me a major heart attack.

However, I continued to produce damage and she died just before her execution ability. I don’t think non-heart cross leaders can safely kill her.

Hera D kill shot

Moving onto Dark Kali, it was simply a matter of surviving her attacks and continously heart-crossing as I can survive any attack she produces if at full health.

Dkali kill shot

PreDRAs were simply a matter of using Awoken Ra’s skill on my Pollux.

Conclusion

Arena 3 is a true test of skill and endurance with  a healthy smattering of luck. This was actually my first playthrough (as the spawns outside of the Radar Dragons on floor 22 are essentially the same) and maybe I got a bit lucky with Hera Dragon as I can heart-cross my way to victory. I will continue trying to farm at least one of each Radar Dragon and hopefully will have the skills and luck to bypass them as well.

What have you used to clear Arena 3?

Happy Puzzling!

  1. Congrats, Mantastic! The drop rate for the Radar dragons is a real discomfort in the gluteus maximus, but even the act of clearing the last three floors of the dungeon is a true testament of one’s ability. Do you plan on returning, be it for the fun or for the trophies?

    1. Thank you Cobalt!

I am fortunate to have been using Myr (No XM or RaD) as I did encounter Ilsix, DQ Hera, and then Hera D which would have probs killed those other two lol

I plan to keep playing Arena 3 (not hardcore farm) as I can get to the final floors as it is essentially Arena 2 with a bit more hp/dmg. I do want some Radar Dragons so I can water my own ego flower

    1. Yeah, I make light rows, and light combos and just hammer away. I usually end up using an active per floor so it becomes the worst spawn for me as I need to find a place to restall

    1. Yeah it is proving to be the main reason why I am able to progress through the game at the current pace I am experiencing. I would feel pretty lost without my alt and having to find coop partners all the time/rely on others

  2. Hey Mantastic, just wanted some advice and I was unsure where to post.

I’m unsure of what to work on right now, as I don’t have great subs for Myr and don’t have Liu Bei; here’s my padherder: https://www.padherder.com/user/pandoni/

I’ve been running MZeus for farming and playing around with Kaede, but the team isn’t ideal with only one. I do have 2 Sumires and a variety of blue subs, but I don’t know if it’s worth investing in given that I have Kaede.

Sorry if my thoughts seem a little scrambled, but I was just hoping to get some feedback on what would give me the most productive use of my stamina right now….Thanks!

    1. You Kaede team has double Vishnu along with Verdandi and WeeJas for subs and that is quite respectable. You lack a system, but you have 100% uptime on skyfalls and plenty of TPA damage to go around.

For Sumire, you have quite a deep sub pool and could run (once developed) Skuld, second Sumire, Nut, and either any combo of Isis, Orochi, Andromeda, based on the dungeon mechanics.

Kaede may still be stronger due to the high TPA synergy as Sumire has a lower damage multiplier and has to make a 5o1e. However, it all depends on which colour is more invested and if Vishnus are max skilled (which they are from Padherder)

You do not need a Liu Bei to farm Myr (I farmed M+ and max skilled both mine with DQXQ and posted videos of clears with Blonia and Dtron too)

You have reasonable Myr subs with Apoc, Venus, Elia, Saria, and even Apollo (just use Myr afterwards)

      Hope this helps!

      1. Thanks, that helps a lot! My followup question is whether developing a Myr or Sumire would potentially open any doors currently closed to me with my non-system Kaede team.

Also, do you think it’s worth skilling 3 Dios’ without LB or Perseus (or Australis)?

        1. Myr is much stronger than Sumire when you are running an ideal team. However, your box is lacking a WK or DQXQ so it puts some constraints on your success

Kaede is still your best bet and you should skill up Dios on the side (when nothing better to play is around) so you have it somewhat ready in case your situation changes =)
