11 Million Downloads Celebration Godfest Review and Analysis

Godfest basics

When making the decision to roll or save your magic stones, you need to determine if the featured pantheons can benefit or compliment your teams. Chasing for one specific monster is unwise as you will most likely be disappointed and should ideally have Godfests that overlap with many target cards. Remember all monsters that come out of the REM will qualify for Skill Inheritance so do not be too hasty when selling dupes. For a more detailed team building help, please refer to my full list Popular Leader’s and their Full Sub List Post. Lastly, to find more information about a specific pantheon or monster, refer to my Master List to better refine your search. If you are considering to purchase a Four Gentlemen card, please read my Review and Comparison HERE.

Introduction

To mark the 11 million downloads in North America, GungHo is throwing a modestly more special Godfest to mark this occasion. We have been experiencing 4x GFE for quite some time now and with only a smattering of 5x to try and entice us. However, these increased rates do not appear to be any more special than Godfests of old due to the significantly larger REM pool. It is my understanding (I could be wrong) that with each new pantheon (or GFE) added, the rates to roll a particular card go down. Thus, the increased rates are merely there to keep abreast with this “inflation.”

Regardless, this Godfest features a reasonable line up along with +33 to each roll (+11 to each stat).

Day 1

Day 1 features both the powerful Heroes pantheon and poorly aging Egyptian 2. Presently speaking, the Hero series remains one of the strongest due to the prevalence of the heart cross meta along with offering powerful orb changers that help any mono-colour team. Being able to heal and deal damage simultaneously is crucial to success in high tier content. Furthermore, they all possess syngergistic awakenings that help row-based teams along with high weighed stats.

On the other hand, the Egyptian 2 pantheon is in an awkward place as none of them posses an awoken evolution along with not having an ideal home for them as none of them lead powerful teams. Their active skills are somewhat unique, but no not grant them a best in slot status for any particular team. However, this can all change with an awoken evolution as it will revamp their current active and leader skill.

In regards to the featured GFE, I feel that Day 1 is superior as it features all the top-tier 6* with the inclusion of Dark Kali Dark Kali, Kanna 3233, and Kaede Ult Kaede. I value these cards higher solely based on the fact that they are instrumental to success on the current strongest teams.

Yamato was initially famous for his 3 skill boost Skill Boost awakenings as this helps guarantee your actives are ready to use by turn 1. However, he still makes for a stellar mono-fire sub due to his 3 fire row Fire Row enhances. This makes him best suited on Krishna 3068 as ideal teams try to stack rows for optimal damage. However, if you are fortunate enough to roll rare Collab cards, Christmas Gremory 3379 and Yamamoto 3357 teams could both significantly benefit from a Yamato or two.

In addition to providing a valuable active that generates fire and enhanced heart orbs, Yamato has combo synergy with Leilan Awoken Leilan and Verdandi Verd to form 2/3 fire boards. Forming 2/3 fire boards is the best way to ensure 3 unique rows and the largest damage possible.

Finally, Yamato brings a soft bind clear to your mono fire teams through his heart generating active and recover bind Bind Clear awakening awakening. This allows him to clear 3 turns of binds through a row of hearts and is a viable option provided he is not bound.

Andromeda remains one of the best mono water subs available and is used on essentially every team due to her powerful active, awakenings, and high base stats.

Andromeda is able to provide 40% skill bind resist coverage along with three rows and a single TPA. Furthermore, like Yamato, she can act as a soft bind clearer through a row of hearts.

Her healer and physical typing provide a healthy amount of defensive stats and her triple typing allows her to be used on Neptune Dragon Neptune Dragon, Blue Sonia Blue Sonia, I&I I&I / Ryune Ryune, Sarasvati 3069, and Lakshimi 3242 teams. Essentially, every one loves to use Andromeda and you will be well served with her in your monster box.

Perhaps the only major downside is a lack of natural board change synergy as you would either have to use Summer Urd summer urd or inherit Urd Urd somewhere on your team.

Perseus is a powerful  mono wood row Wood Row card as he has the rarely seen 2 SBR Skill Lock Resist and 2 time extend Time Extend awakenings. These greatly ease team building along with providing you with ample time to match your numerous wood rows. Unfortunately, wood row teams are not very popular at the moment and his best fit would be on Awoken Liu Bei A Liu Bei teams.

Awoken Liu Bei is considered the strongest coop leader as he is able to form an effortless push button team. Unfortunately, the lack of SBR on the core team members can leave you vulnerable to skill binds. This is where Perseus comes into play along with having a reasonable orb change combo when paired with Liu Bei.

You can still use Perseus as a sub on TPA wood teams such as Kaede Ult Kaede, Ronove Ronove, and Parvati 3243; however, you may be better served with him as an inherit for those types of teams.

Sun Wukong remains one of the strongest mono light cards available due to his active, awakenings, and high base stats. His heart generating active helps provide a steady stream of important orbs along with the potential to clear 3 turns of binds through his recover bind Bind Clear awakening awakening.

The ability to act as a soft bind clearer in coop is invaluable as you can rely on your partner absorbing the binds and having you clear them without dedicating a sub/active slot this task.

Presently speaking, Wukong is one of the strongest subs available for Myr Miru teams.

To help you better chose which Pandora is right for you, please read my comparison post. Regardless of which evolution you choose, Pandora is an amazing monster as her active spawns dark and heart orbs. This can be used in conjunction with Zuoh Ult Zuoh to form a 2/3 dark orb board. Furthermore, her awakenings combine both power and utility and is welcomed on essentially every dark team. You can combine her heart making with a horizontal row of hearts to trigger 3 turns of bind removal through Bind Clear awakening and is one of the few options for removing binds on dark based teams. Granted Pandora can be bound, but it is at least an option.

Despite the fact that Awoken Pandora used to be one of the strongest leaders in the game, it should not distract you from the fact that she is still a powerful leader. You can still clear plenty of content through her dark-devil team. However, many players have been shifting their focus to using her as a sub.

Presently speaking, Gremory Gremory is her best home. Unfortunately, Pandora is largely outclassed by Akechi d-d-akechi in nearly every way outside of a soft bind clearing option.

Set was initially hyped upon his release due to his triple TPA TPA awakenings. Unfortunately, that quickly died down due to his lack of ideal homes. One could argue that he has value on Shiva Dragon Shiva D or Reincarnated Shiva 3241 teams; however, his place is not mandatory by any means.

Providing a 50% damage increase for two turns is helpful, but is one of the weakest enhancing options available. In addition, both those teams usually have enough damage for the type of content they tackle.

Set’s active combines two mechanics into one and this can help alleviate some active requirements towards the end of the dungeon. This is because you can use Set on the second to last floor and then then another active on boss to deal lethal damage.

For beginning players, Set is a strong leader as he will teach you the ways of comboing and basic orb management.

Nut is an interesting water monster as she has a low base cooldown along with reasonable awakenings. Being able to form a column of water orbs is more helpful on TPA teams; however, you can easily use Nut as a base for Skill Inheritance in order to gain easier access to a new active skill. This becomes crucial in short dungeons that are played in solo mode as it may be challenging to stall for actives.

Despite the fact that Nut has no row awakenings, the four orb enhances blue + orb add significant passive damage to row-based teams. This largely plays into the idea of using her as a base for Skill Inheritance, but can be simply used to have a quick orb generating active.

Looking at Nut’s active, you are able to generate 1-5 additional water orbs on a 4 turn cooldown. What makes this unique compared to other orb changers is that she will spawn the orbs in a fixed location regardless of what is already there. This means you can use Nut as a way to improve an already strong board after a full board changer or to override poison/jammer orbs. Furthermore, the column that is generated can easily be converted into a TPA match by moving a water orb from the bottom or top.

The main drawback of using Nut is a lack of SBR Skill Lock Resist which could place constraints on team building in order to achieve 100% immunity.

Overall, Nut is a solid water sub and although she may not be a source of healthy fat/protein, she can strengthen your team’s output via her 4 water orb enhances.

Osiris was designed as the wood counterpart to Nut as he shares the same style of awakenings and active. Unfortunately, Osiris is seldom seen on many mono wood teams due to the sheer abundance of TPA-oriented subs. This is mostly because players would elect to use Vishnu 3070 instead due to the additional Two Prong Attack, SBR, and enhanced skyfall mechanic.

However, you can still use Osiris as a placeholder sub or as a card to act as a base for Skill Inheritance.

Overall, Osiris feels more lackluster than Nut as Vishnu is for the most part a straight upgrade.  On the bright side, Medjedra still loves him.

Hathor is a victim to extreme powercreep as she was released far too late into the game to keep abreast with other cards.  25x rainbow leads began to go out of style around her release and she has not received substantial buffs to keep her viable.

She is capable of forming a 1.82x HP / 20.25x ATK / 1.82x RCV rainbow team that requires 5/6 elements to trigger activation. This would have made her stronger than the first few evolutions of Sakuya, but the game shifted away from rainbow leads before Hathor could develop a following. Presently, Hathor is mostly a pretty box cheerleaders and potential candidate for skill inheritance as gravity assistant. She could also be used as a mono light sub for gravity, but is relatively eclipsed by Awoken Sakuya Sakuya in that department.

However, I want to emphasize her value as a gravity assistant as she is one of the few options available. You may not use her very often, but it does have value when required.

Nephthys follows the relative trend of the Egyptian 2 pantheon by featuring 4 enhanced orb awakenings and being largely outclassed by other options for her respective role. Even with the buff to her active skill to allow 2 turns of damage enhancement, she will still feel inferior to Loki Awoken Loki or other damage boosters.

Unlike Set, Nephthys only enhances dark orbs (instead of generating extra orbs) and still requires another orb changer to deal damage. Furthermore, if you are planning to use her active on the second to last floor (as your second turn of damage carries over), you will have wasted the majority of your burst due to the orb enhancement. Thus, you would probably need to use Nephthys on the boss itself and negating the two turn enhancement buff. This may seem a little nit-picky; however, it becomes crucial to min/max at higher levels and you need to be careful of what actives/subs you bring to the party.

Looking beyond Nephthys’s active, her God and Devil typing allow her to be utilized on all the popular dark teams: Yomi Dragon Yomi Dragon, Awoken Lucifer Awoken Archdemon Lucifer, Gremory Gremory, and Awoken Pandora Awoken Pandora. The 4 enhanced dark orb Dark Orb Enhance add a sizable damage increase and ensure 80% of all spawned orbs come with an enhance. Furthermore, by being able to enhance dark orbs with her active, you can correct badly spawned full board changers for Yomi Dragon.

Day 2

For a long time, the Norse Gods reigned supreme as the best option for damage enhancement as they could provide 2x damage for two turns. However, with the introduction of the Armoured Knight and Gemstone series, the Norses have lost their edge. 2x damage enhancement is powerful, but pales in comparison to the Gemstone princesess and while the Norse have better sub potential, most players choose to inherit their enhancers instead. Inheriting your enhance allows you to choose which awakenings you want on your team along with being able to use a different active should the dungeon be exceptionally long. Perhaps one notable benefit for the Norse Gods is the double SBR awakenings that greatly ease team building constraints in solo mode.

On the other hand, the Sengoku (Samurai) pantheon remains one of the stronger ones due to their powerful and unique active skills. All of them feature dual purpose actives that allow you to do two different mechanics at once. This is crucial in high end content as you need to maximize your active skills and the Sengoku can allow you to bring one less ability. Their new ultimate evolutions also allow them to be used as viable subs on their respective teams due to their large array of beneficial awakenings.

Unfortunately, the Godfest Exclusive line up more lackluster as it is missing all of the crucial 6-stars required for the top tier teams.

Freyr is the first of the Norse God series and finally ditched the little pigs in favours of two magnificent swords and a majestic rainbow. Amusing art aside, Freyr is powerful card for augmenting your Firepower. His awakenings bring a healthy mix of offensive and defensive utility and the double SBR Skill Lock Resist eases team building. Unfortunately, there has been a diminished need for damage enhancers as most are now inherited or the teams themselves have large multipliers. In addition, the usage of Sanada 3101 further lowers the need for damage enhancement.

As a leader, Freyr pairs wonderfully with Raoh Raoh to form a powerful 1.5x HP / 14.625x ATK / 2.5x RCV team for Attacker and Devil types while prioritizing fire rows Fire Row. Tank teams are able to effectively stall on most floors and can unleash amazing burst damage through orb changers and Freyr’s active.

Awoken Idunn&Idunna doubles both your fun and damage! They are perhaps Puzzle and Dragon’s most loved pair (although DQXQ Awoken DQXQ is a strong contender) but are somewhat on the decline due to powercreep.

I&I used to be able to form a powerful tank team, but that has been quickly blown out of the water and the overarching need to damage enhancement is lower by comparison. In addition, splitting your offensive awakenings between rows and TPA effectively wastes one of them as most teams only focus on a single matching pattern. Perhaps the best fit would be on a Reincarnated Lakshmi 3242 as she tends to mix and match rows and TPA throughout the dungeon.

Thor is sadly not the hunky beefcake you see flying around in cinemas and his art work may make you cringe upon closer inspection. Poor art and fashion choices aside, Thor is another viable damage enhancing option and has modest leadership potential.

When used as a leader, he pairs wonderfully with Saria Saria to form a 2x HP / 14.06x ATK / 2.5x RCV tank team that has an amazing sub pool to draw upon. For further reading and team building advice, please read my Full Guide. However, most players are beginning to drop their Pandor and Lucifer teams and Gremory does not require a damage enhance. Thus, Loki is in an awkward place as a sub due to no ideal home.

Another interesting aspect of Awoken Loki is his potential as a rainbow sub due to his light and dark enhancement. Many rainbow teams are light heavy and the additional dark coverage and two skill bind resists ease team building constraints while still providing damage enhancement. However, you can simply use his active via Skill Inheritance.

Sanada is one of the strongest fire cards as he has a spectacular active that combines both a double orb changer and fire orb enhance. By combining both a heart and fire orb changer along with a fire orb enhance, you remove the need to bring a damage enhancing active. This is crucial in high end content as you free up an active skill slot and can further refine your team to counter other dungeon mechanics.

Sanada gained an additional buff that provided an additional fire row and a stat increase. The additional health is important as he is still far too ATK oriented and survivability is more important in the majority of situations.

Sanada is a wonderful sub on Krishna 3068 as ideal teams try to stack rows for optimal damage. However, if you are fortunate enough to roll rare Collab cards, Christmas Gremory 3379 and Yamamoto 3357 teams could both significantly benefit from a Sanada.

What makes Sanada so powerful is his combo synergy with Urd Urd to produce a 2/3 enhanced fire, 1/3 heart board. This will deal lethal damage to essentially boss in the game.

One last thing to note is that Sanada can be combo-ed with Mori Mori Motanari for a full board of enhanced fire orbs.

Mori Motonari had less popularity because of the abundance of full board changers who are water types. However, this all changed with the introduction of his new ultimate evolution. However, with the advent of Skill Inheritance, Mori may have additional options as he can be used for both mono water and fire teams. Keiji has an interesting active as he will randomly change your board. This will remove locked orbs as well as give the chance at cascades to occur. If a cascade does trigger, all of your cooldowns will decrease by 1 and the boss will not retaliate. However, due to the randomness of the board change, you are not guaranteed 3 of each element. This creates an inherit risk when using Keiji ‘s active on rainbow teams. He is largely eclipsed by Light Kali and Dark Kali Dark Kali due to lower stats and no guaranteed spawns. Keiji will mostly be used on Sakuya Sakuya , Awoken Ra Ra , and Ra Dragon Ra Dragon, teams.

However, many players will value Keiji for his board refresh active as an assistant for Skill Inheritance. This can be easily transferred onto your team and even mono-colour teams may benefit as a means to remove locked orbs.

With an ultimate evolution, Keiji may find more viability, but may still be regulated to an assistant via Skill Inheritance due to the random-ness of his active unless you need a 100x glass cannon leader.

He was once marred as a either a skill inherit assistant or a less ideal sub because of the low base stats and awakenings. However, with the release of his new ultimate evolution, Akechi is now incredible and the only real fault I can find in him is low base Recovery.

One thing to keep in mind is where you plan to use Akechi as his D/L 3110 is superior on non-row teams and row teams that lack numerous orb enhances.

Conclusion

The 11 Million Downlloads Godfest features two strong and two weak pantheons. It is just is just a shame they decided split the Heroes and Sengoku up into seperate days. The 5x GFE rates do help entice players to roll and from a purely end game perspective, Day 1 is superior from a GFE point of view.

Let me know what you think about this Godfest and which day do you plan on rolling.

Happy Puzzling!

  1. The only 3 rolls of Day 1:

          Osiris
          dupe Salamander
          dupe Balboa
          Gryps Rider
          Kaede
          Dantalion

Nothing that helps my current teams but I will definitely make a new one for Kaede.

  4. Hi mantastic, i rolled LKali, 3rd ronove, Apocalypse, hathor, phoenix rider and kakkab, i have a DMeta team, should i use kakkab or should i try to get grisar from invades? also which dungeon is better to try to get him? thanks.

    1. Grisar is best obtained from Ultimate Devil Rush as he is a guaranteed spawn along with providing a hefty amount of Rank Experience per clear

What other cards do you have available?

  5. Bought a few stones for day 1 because I really, really wanted a Yamato or an Andromeda. Instead, I pull nothing from the Heroes pantheon and THREE Egyptians. 2nd Set, 3rd Ronove, 2nd Osiris, 3rd LKali, 3rd Sumire, and Hathor. And the card I’m honestly happiest about? Snow White – the only fairy tale girl I didn’t have (and she’s not even in this gala…wat).

Still, Ronove is 15K MP and I’m probably going to find something to shove Set’s and Osiris’ pluses onto…if I don’t sell them too. Hathor’s inheritable gravity is nice to have, I can probably throw a decent Sumire system together for 5×4 dungeons now, and I have more LKalis than I know what to do with. I’d be happier if PCGF and the previous 5x GFE didn’t troll me so hard 😛

  6. Sitting this one out as I’d be chasing wukong and Urd. Thanks everyone for posting results to help cement my decision. Good luck to all in the REM slot machine!

  7. Looking for Yamato Takeru and Eschamali on my main… got 3rd LKali (sold for 15k MP), 2nd CaoCao and 2nd Andromeda.
After awakening my first CaoCao, time to redo a R/G CaoCao ^^’

Alt: LKali (O_o) and 2nd Verdandi

Well, there’s a lot of LKali rolls as I can see from other posts :/

    1. I would take a light kali over silver roll =P

One thing to keep in mind with dupe pantheon gods is their killer forms. Killer awakenings have tremendous value and may be worth considering for the dupe

      1. Well, LKali > silver for sure, at least I’ve got a lot of MP 🙂

As for CaoCao, I’m using an ACaoCao in my Krishna team, which should be more useful between R/G or R/D CaoCao? For sure the killer awakening should be more interesting (R/G is for my old Verdandi team, but I’m thinking of dismantle that team, I’m using Krishna in tricolor dungeons)

        1. I would still stick with Awoken CaoCao over the other options as he has bind immunity which can act as a base for a bind clear along with being able to remove poison orbs.

However, R/D is generally better compared to R/G for row teams

          1. Yeah, ACaoCao with FDK inherit is a staple unbindable bind clearer for me.

My team is Krishna, Sanada, ACaoCao (FDK), Gadius (Saria), R/L Ares. I’ve got a Yasutora Sado from the Bleach collabo, who shoud inherit his active? Ares?

    1. I hope I get one soon……

Instead I got Snow white x2 and Hathor

Here’s to hoping Awoken Hathor is like a mini Radra like 2.25/81/2.25 or something

Although knowing my luck now that I have rolled Hathor Egyptian 2 will be forgotten.

Happened to my Lmeta back in the day. Happened to my Satsuki.
      Happened to my Saria.

RIP Egyptian 2 now that I own one of you, you will never be relevant again.

      1. Well considering you own all of them, one is bound to become relevant with their next wave of evolutions =)

Fun fact, Light Metatron was my 3rd +297 back in the day for my Sakuya team. Now she is barely touched

  8. Somehow I hoped for a 2nd Kaede, but instead I got Ame no Uzume. So now I have a really strong red bind cleaner.

It is just hard to decide which team to use or (in my case:) to make. ReShiva (I like the playstyle) or ReMinerva (I have the better subs).

Not enough TPA (only Shiva, Set, Urd), but that is not really the point, as Sanadaa and and the few TPA guys sounds enough.
Minerva isn’t able to use Sanadaa (it breaks my heart), but Minerva, Terra, Gadius and Belial sounds legit… also the Arena friendly def and the bind immunity.

    Damn, this was easy :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

    1. Generally speaking, Minerva is a better end game leader, but Shiva is easier/faster to play. Both have their merits and they do have some overlap with subs.

Shiva is able to hit around 2m on a single TPA and 7 combo board and that is usually sufficient for most content so not having tonnes of TPA subs is not too detrimental to success.

As for your Minerva team, it looks like it would work well =)
