Lunar New Year Godfest Review and Analysis

Godfest basics

When making the decision to roll or save your magic stones, you need to determine if the featured pantheons can benefit or complement your teams. Chasing for one specific monster is unwise as you will most likely be disappointed and should ideally have Godfests that overlap with many target cards. Remember all monsters that come out of the REM will qualify for Skill Inheritance so do not be too hasty when selling dupes. For a more detailed team building help, please refer to my full list Popular Leader’s and their Full Sub List Post. Lastly, to find more information about a specific pantheon or monster, refer to my Master List to better refine your search. If you are considering to purchase a Four Gentlemen card, please read my Review and Comparison HERE.

Introduction

Happy Lunar New Year! Hopefully you have been spending time with your family and loved ones along with feasting upon copious amounts of food. In order to mark the year of the Rooster, the Lunar New Year Godfest will feature the newly Reincarnated Egyptian 1’s along with (surprise surprise) Chinese Celestial pantheons. To sweeten the deal further, we will also be benefiting from 5x GFE along with +20 to a random stat.

For the most part, the Egyptian 1 pantheon is capable of forming powerful and fun teams. Even with the diminished value of leader skill restrictions due to an active skill clause, they can still clear plenty of content while Isis and now Horus being powerful subs.

On the flip side, the Chinese Celestials have not aged as well due to a lack of new evolutions and buffs for quite some time now. In addition, they somewhat struggle in a heart cross meta due to their board changers only producing three colours. However, there has been a gradual shift back towards colour board changers so there may be a shift back towards the Celestials in the future.

Where to spend your Red Pocket Money will be up to you, but this is a modest Godfest for the most part.

As a side note, I changed the format for the analyzed cards and would like to know what you think.

5x and 6-star GFE

As we saw from Player’s Choice Godfest, 6-star rolls are incredibly rare, but are somewhat irreplaceable on numerous endgame teams. This heavy reliance on 6-stars is taxing on players as the gap between pantheon/5-stars is ever widening.

With that being said, 5x GFE  events are the best times to acquire those coveted six stars. The corresponding pantheon is important; however, you should focus on the featured Godfest Exclusives this time.

Presently speaking, Kaede Ult Kaede, Dark Kali Dark Kali, and Kanna 3233 are the most relevant 6-stars from a purely endgame point of view. Kaede duplicates are instrumental on their own team along Ronove’s Ronove teams. On the other hand, you can never have enough Dark Kalis for both subs and inherits on Ra Dragon 3265 along with Kanna being a new staple sub for the same team.

As another general trend, the newer GFE tend to be stronger compared to the older ones (Sonia, Metatron, Odins). Granted this can change with new evolutions, but newly released cards tend to be better positioned against the next few months of Powercreep.

With all that being said, neither day features all of the top 6-stars so which day you choose to rol will be based on your own personal needs. It is also worth noting that the newer GFE are available on both days.

Day 1 overview

Egyptian 1

3272 Isis 3384 3273 3385

The Egyptian 1 pantheon features some of the oldest cards in Puzzle and Dragons. They have risen and fallen over the course of their lifetime with their newly released Reincarnated evolutions breathing fresh life into their potential. However, they will never achieve the same level of relative greatness as before due to the fact they have active skill clauses built into their leader skill. This greatly diminishes their potential as you are forced to always use an ability to deal sufficient damage for end game content.

On the flip side, Isis remains one of the strongest and most popular subs due to the dominance of Ra Dragon 3265 while Horus has gained new potential with his Reincarnated evolution as a base for Skill Inheritance.

Reincarnated Horus
3272
Devil / God / Attacker
3,875 HP / 2,164 ATK / 630 RCV
1,000 Total
Enhnaced Fire Orb Enhnaced Fire Orb Skill Boost Skill Lock Resist Skill Boost Time Extend Skill Lock Resist TPA TPA

Active Skill:
Enhance all fire orbs
+2s to orb movement time for 1 turn
4 turn Cooldown

Leader Skill:
4x ATK with 4 colours. 5x ATK with 5. 2x ATK & RCV when active skill is used
100x ATK / 4x RCV

Pros Cons
  • Flexible Leader Skill
  • 1,000 weighted stats
  • 100x ATK
  • Short cooldown can inherit easily
  • Double SBR Skill Lock Resist
  • Cover Fire & Water
  • Can use orb changers
  • Active skill reliant for damage
  • RCV is tied active skill
  • Damage is okay
  • Wrong chicken
Impressions

Reincarnated Horus has always traded a higher damage multiplier for greater consistency. This worked well when he was first released as there were fewer options to choose from along with most of the content not requiring amazingly high multipliers. However, in today’s meta, it is just not worthwhile as we now have access to board refreshes and time extends. Thus, the safety net is no longer required and is actually hurting his potential overall.

A 100x rainbow leader is perhaps average nowadays. Unfortunately, being average is not really good enough as you ideally want to have a card who excels in one particular aspect. Furthermore, having a large percentage of your multiplier tied to the usage of an active skill truly kills Horus’s potential. Without an active skill, you will only be able to achieve 25x ATK along with 1x RCV. If his RCV component was passively built into his leader skill, he could at least stall. Sadly, if you want to heal, you must also use an active and run the risk of killing the floor as well.

With all that being said, Horus has some merits, most notably his potential to act as a sub on various teams. His base cooldown is only 4 turns and allows you to easily inherit something over top along with covering the awkward Fire and Water elements. Furthermore, he has dual Skill Bind Resistance which can greatly ease team building constraints in solo mode. Finally, his dual TPA and massive base attack will allow Horus to achieve amazing burst damage.

Awoken Isis
Isis
Devil / God

blue + orb blue + orb Bind Immune Bind Immune Time Extend Skill Lock Resist Water Row Skill Boost

Active Skill:

2 turn bind clear
3 turn CD

Leader Skill:
3x ATK when 3+ colours attack at same time. 1.5x ATK for water when using an active skill
20.25x ATK

Pros Cons
  • Staple Ra Dragon 3265 Sub
  • 3 turn cooldown
  • Covers Water & Wood
  • Bind immune
  • Great starting leader
  • No Reincarnated evolution
  • Must retain wood subtyping
  • Lower base stats
  • Low leadership past mid game
Impressions

Isis is one of the most sought after cards in Puzzle and Dragons due to her incredible utility, active, skill inheritance potential, colour coverage, and beauty. It is sometimes challenging to find a sub who can cover both water and wood while being useful (others that come to mind are Sun Quan Sun Quan and Orochi Awoken Oorochi). However, neither of those offer the same degree of defensive utility as Isis along with a quick charging active. With an active that takes only 3 turns to recharge, Isis makes an amazing base monster for inheriting a skill. This way you can have the colour coverage and option of bind clearing along with an inherited active for only an additional 3 turns of cooldown.

Isis is naturally at home on mono water teams as she offers some offensive capabilities, but perhaps her most popular use is on Ra Dragon 3265 (or other rainbow) teams. If you have a Dark Kali Dark Kali, your team is essentially bind immune as you your colour activation requirements will always be met. Furthermore, you can clear binds from other subs with Isis’s active.

Sub potential aside, Isis makes a wonderful leader for new accounts as she will help teach you the basics of comboing along with colour management.

Isis is still lacking a Reincarnated evolution, but even if she were to receive one, she may not be used. This is mostly attributed to her mandatory role on Ra Dragon teams and if she loses her wood sub typing, she would no longer fulfill her primary role.

Overall, Isis is one of the strongest and most versatile monsters available and is worth pursuing and investing in.

Reincarnated Bastet
3384
Devil / God / Balance
4,760 HP / 1,757 ATK / 519 RCV
1,000 Total
Poison resist Time Extend Poison resist Skill Lock Resist Skill Boost Time Extend TPA Enhanced Wood Orb TPA

Active Skill:

5 turn Cooldown

Leader Skill:
3x ATK with 5 combos. Scales up to 5x with 9 combos. 2.5x ATK when active skill is used
156.25x ATK

Pros Cons
  • Scaling Leader Skill
  • 1,000 weighted stats
  • 156.25x ATK
  • Short cooldown can inherit easily
  • Flexible team building
  • Cute
  • Active skill reliant for damage
  • 25x at 9 combos is weak
  • Damage is okay
  • Base active is weak
Impressions

Reincarnated Bastet is a massive improvement to her Awoken form as it significantly boosts her maximum damage from her previous 36x. In addition, you have a higher combo threshold for additional damage (7->9) along with a stronger multiplier when using an active skill. This further cements Bastet as a glass cannon leader as she still has no defensive multiplier component.

Like Horus, Bastet can only offer up to 25x ATK without an active skill and will make it challenging to use her efficiently in content that requires a large amount of damage repeatedly. However, when using an active skill, you are able to deal lethal damage as you can efficiently stack TPA TPA awakenings. Granted you do lose out on your maximum damage multiplier, but if your team has enough TPA, the lower combo count can be justified. In fact, 7 combos (which is a realistic amount) will result in 100x ATK and that should be sufficient for most content as she is leading a mono wood team.

When compared to Acetet Cross Bastet, Reincarnated Bastet wins out from a maximum multiplier point of view along without running the risk of flooding the board with wood and compromising combos. However, Acetet is superior from a combo perspective if no active skill is used. Acetet can achieve up to 64x ATK and gains her additional multiplier from matching 3 wood combos. This wood combo clause will usually result in an active skill being used, but will force you to bring more orb changers by comparison.

Reincarnated Bastet is better able to load up on utility-based actives as you do not require numerous wood orbs and can simply rely on the higher base multiplier and a TPA match. Another thing to consider is the risk of using God Killer God Killer on Acetet which could lead to the inability to kill certain absorb bosses (most notably Sopdet). Finally, Reincarnated Bastet has a shorter cooldown along with higher weighted stats.

Reincarnated Ra
3273
Devil / God / Physical
5,555 HP / 1,548 ATK / 406 RCV
1,000 Total
Bind Immune Bind Immune Skill Lock Resist Blind Resist Time Extend Skill Boost Skill Boost +light orb Time Extend

Active Skill:

7 turn CD

Leader Skill:
5x ATK & 2x RCV when matching 5 colours. 3x ATK for God & Devils when using an active skill
225x ATK / 4x RCV

Pros Cons
  • 25x or 225x ATK
  • Has 4x RCV
  • 1,000 weighted stats
  • Easy activation requirements
  • True Damage
  • Bind Immune
  • Can use heartbreakers
  • Forms specialized farming teams
  • Active skill reliant for damage
  • RCV is tied to colour activation
  • Challenging to stall
  • 25x with no active is weak
  • Base active is weak on dual leaders
Impressions

Reincarnated Ra is a dramatic improvement over his once game breaking Awoken form. Ra is now able to achieve 225x ATK which sounds amazing on paper, but in practice, is not as overpowering. First off, he lacks any offensive awakenings outside of a single orb enhance along with being forced to match all 5 colours. This automatically lowers your damage potential as 12 orbs are automatically considered “wasted” if your whole team is light attribute.

However, that is not to say that Ra is unable to deal damage, it is just not as overwhelming as you may think. Sadly, this damage is heavily restricted through the usage of an active skill. Without using an active skill, you have a measly 25x ATK which will probably not kill most current bosses. As such, you may be forced to either bring a short cooldown sub (such as Gunma 440) but that also means you have effecitvely lost a sub slot. Thus, his potential is somewhat marred by this fact along with not having his RCV component being passive.

4x RCV is amazing and allows for essentially a full HP heal with any heart orb match, but has to be done when matching all 5 colours. This is problematic as you may face orb troll along with not wanting to actually deal damage to an encounter as you will be dealing 25x ATK. This may push some bosses into their dangerous HP thresholds and result in your death.

Taking all of those above points into consideration, Reincarnated Ra is still able to clear plenty of end game content. 225x ATK for only 5 colours is a relatively simple activation requirement and if you are able to plan out your dungeon carefully, you can clear plenty of end game content. For example, many players have found great success using Awoken Ra to farm Machine Zeus when it first came out. It relied on using a Gunma along with Machine Killer subs and many delays. I made a variation of that team that took into consideration my own limiting cards, but have the same rate of success. You can read more about it HERE.

Moving outside of a leadership role, Ra is one of the most desired true damage characters in the game. His base cooldown is a short 7 turns and allows for easy inheritance or as a sub on button farming teams. He can immediately kill any high defense monster in the game and you can never have too many Ra in your Monster Box.

Reincarnated Anubis

Active Skill:

4 turns counterattack
8 turn Cooldown

Leader Skill:
5x ATK with 9 combos. 10x with 11 combos. 3x ATK when active skill is used
900x ATK

Pros Cons
  • Has some damage control
  • 1,001 weighted stats
  • 900x ATK
  • Unbindable with Bind Clear awakening
  • Active removes hazards
  • Niche counterattack
  • One true God
  • Inconsistent activation
  • Skyfall/praying required
  • No defensive multiplier
  • Active has a long cooldown
Impressions

Reincarnated Anubis is a significant improvement to his Awoken form as you only require 11 combos for maximum damage along with active skill usage and 9 combo damage being improved. This somewhat lowers the risk involved along with providing some form of damage control as you can activate 9x damage with an active skill.

A 6×5 board can provide at most 10 combos with a perfect distribution. Unfortunately, the more likely scenario is a board with 7-8 combos and after matching perfectly, praying for adequate skyfalls is required. This playstyle is incredibly risky along with inconsistent as there will be many times where the skyfalls are not in your favour.

Reincarnated Anubis brings up to 30x ATK by himself and has some potential to pair with 7×6 leaders even if they have lower damage multipliers. Unfortunately, the best option currently is to use Aten 3268.

Shifting away from a leadership role, Reincarnated Anubis has strong potential on mono dark teams due to his bind immunity and recover bind Bind Clear awakening awakening. This enables Anubis to clear 3 turns of binds with a single row of hearts. This would be more helpful if he had a heart generating active, but you can always inherit something over top his own active.

Finally, looking at Anubis’s active skill, it has a reasonably long cooldown for the benefits it provides. Most single orb changer plus hazard removal is pinned at 7 turns along with a turn of haste. Thus, you are trading haste and an additional turn for the occasionally useful counterattack. Counterattack has most applications against resolve bosses that have a 1% attack you can survive. This will enable you to instantly kill the boss as their ability will hit you and then have the counterattack hit and kill them. Perhaps the best example of this is against Zeus & Hera as their damage goes out before the healing component.

Featured GFE

Baldin Balboa Sherias Roots Sherias

Day one features both Kaede and Kanna but also all the older GFE. While the Odins have niche utility and future split evolutions, they are more of a luxury and their active skills can be replicated via the One-Shot Challenge Tamazos who can also be inherited. Conversely, the Metatron and Sonias are probably going to go a long time without any buff for the foreseeable future.

Day 2 overview

Chinese Celestials

Awoken Leilan Awoken Karin MeiMei Sakuya Haku

The Chinese Celestials are one of the most beloved pantheons in Puzzle and Dragons due to their longevity and inherit cuteness. Historically, they have been one of the most cared for by GungHo with relatively prompt buffs or evolutions to appease their fanbase. Unfortunately, they have been somewhat neglected due to the heart cross meta and a lack of relevant buffs.

However, the meta appears to be somewhat shifting away from heart crosses and if this holds true, the Celestials will regain relevancy as Haku is already looking to become an invaluable member for Aizan, Dark Athena, and Yomi Dragon.

Pros Cons
  • Flexible Leader Skill
  • Can stack fire rows
  • Sub potential on most fire teams
  • Board changer synergy
  • Dual Killer form has farming potential
  • Does not generate heart orbs
  • Leader skill is limiting
Impressions

Leilan has legs to die for along with being a mono red powerhouse with a healthy mixture of offensive and utility based awakenings. Despite not being able to generate heart orbs, Leilan can be a powerful sub on Krishna 3068, Ilm 3235, Minerva 3238, and Tsubaki Ult Tsubaki teams due to the colours she generates along with the potential to combo with various orb changers such as Yamato Bankai Yamato to form a 2/3 fire board.

Leilan’s dual Killer form has niche situational value when farming specific content.

As a leader, Leilan forms a 16x ATK team with 51% damage reduction from Fire, Wood, and Light enemies. Has situational uses and does shine bright in those types of dungeons and is capable of clearing end game content.

Perhaps as GungHo slowly edges away from a heart cross meta will Leilan along with her sisters gain more relevancy.

Pros Cons
  • Flexible Leader Skill
  • Can stack water rows
  • Sub potential on some water teams
  • Board changer synergy
  • Dual Killer form has farming potential
  • Cute
  • Does not generate heart orbs
  • Leader skill is limiting
  • Water has a deep pool of board changers
Impressions

Karin has always been a somewhat neglected Chinese Celestial due to the fact that water has historically had powerful full board changers. This still holds true today as water has access to Mori 3103, Blue Sonia Blue Sonia, Ryune Ryune, and Skuld Skuld ult evo who are all able to perform the role better for the most part. Granted Karin may have other board changer synergy that other may not have as she has access to Sitri 2993, Hermes A Hermes, and Hatsume Hatsume, but for the most part, the others are stronger.

Given the fact that she does not do anything better than the other available options, Karin may simply be regulated to an inheritance option on mono dark teams if you require synergy with Pandora Awoken Pandora (which Meimei MeiMei does better).

Regardless, you can still use Karin on mono water teams and her Water/Wood evolution has potential due to her double Killer awakenings.

Pros Cons
  • Flexible Leader Skill
  • Powerful awakenings
  • Sub potential on some wood teams
  • Board changer synergy
  • Dual Killer form has farming potential
  • Popular inherit
  • Does not generate heart orbs
  • Leader skill is limiting
Impressions

Meimei may not be your little sister, but she is regaining popularity on mono wood teams with the release of Vishnu 3070 and Reincarnated Bastet 3384 teams. Both of these teams are reliant on TPA awakenings and Meimei’s active skill allows for easy comboing and numerous orbs. All of this translates into a large burst board for either team. Unfortunately, Meimei’s active skill is largely outclassed by Verdandi Verd solely because she generates heart orbs. As such, you may find value in using Meimei’s more offensive body and inheriting a stronger active over top.

With all that being said, Meimei is the perfect inherit on dark teams (excluding stat bonuses) that run Pandora Awoken Pandora as you are able to form a 2/3 dark, 1/3 heart board.

Pros Cons
  • Scaling leader skill
  • Bind immune, bind clear
  • Situational gravity for resolves
  • Value as an inherit
  • Inconsistent and somewhat low damage leader skill
  • No defensive multiplier
Impressions

Awoken Sakuya was one of the most anticipated evolutions at the time of her release as she was a fan-favourite. At the time, it was a major upgrade as it allowed Sakuya to have both the capacity to clear binds along with the chance to hit 100x ATK. Unfortunately, her leader skill is inconsistent and unreliable as you cannot realistically hit 100x every turn and being left with only 49x-64x with 7 or 8 combos is frustrating. Even though these numbers sound strong on paper, they are quite lackluster in practice as you are forced to match other colours and only able to stack TPA awakenings. As such, row-based teams or even mono-colour TPA teams will easily outclass Sakuya’s damage due to being able to flood the board with their primary colours.

Despite the lower leadership potential, Awoken Sakuya has gained value as a sub on a variety of teams as her bind clear comes with a 20% gravity component. This is unique in the realm of bind clears as you are able to use it offensively to either chunk down a dangerous boss or to help bypass resolve. One of her best homes is on Sherias Roots Sherias Roots as her Dragon typing and water coverage help alleviate team building constraints. In addition, you may also find value inheriting Sakuya to capitalize on her dual purpose active.

Pros Cons
  • Flexible Leader Skill
  • Powerful awakenings
  • Still relevant as a sub on:
    • Yomi Dragon 3266
    • Aizen 3359
    • Dark Athena 3193
  • Board changer synergy with Akechi 3110
  • Dual Killer form has farming potential
  • Popular inherit
  • Does not generate heart orbs
  • Leader skill is limiting
Impressions

Haku is surprisingly the most powerful Chinese Celestial in this current meta due to the leadership potential of Yomi Dragon 3266, Aizen 3359, and Dark Athena 3193. All three of these leaders are powerful in their own right and Haku’s synergistic awakenings and active skill make her an amazing sub. Furthermore, her board changer has gained more value through Akechi’s 3110 evolution that helps keep him in line with other sub options.

Presently speaking, there is no other dark, fire, +1 tri-colour board changer that leads to a 2/3 enhanced dark board and the Haku Akechi combo remains one of the strongest burst skills (which amusingly also generates heart orbs).

3268 Gadius Typhon Ryune Saria Sylvie Fenrir Viz
Fenrir Urd Skuld ult evo Verd

Compared to Day 1, Day 2 has a much stronger roster of featured GFE as it only features the newer cards. As a generalization, newer cards are stronger as they are usually released a bit stronger to keep abreast with Powercreep. As such, if acquiring newer and more powerful GFE is your priority, Day 2 will be your best bet.

Conclusion

The Lunar New Year Godfest does feature an impressive array of GFE on Day 2 if you do not care for Kaede or Kanna as the oldest cards are not featured at increased rates. However, the pantheon pairings for both days is only okay at best.

My opinion is based on what would be the best cards to roll assuming you have nothing to being with. Each box will vary on a case-by-case basis and it is still up to you to decide which day to roll in.

Which day is most appealing to you and what do you hope to roll?

Happy Puzzling!

  1. Did two rolls on my alt just for fun: Bastet an GrOdin

I’ll put 40 stones on day 2 for my main, as an Aizen and Krishna player there’s some useful cards I hope to get.

      1. Worst Godfest ever 😦

Lots of useless silver: 2x Kano, Mitsuki, Dragonette, 2nd Thanatos

2nd Sherias as the only GFE, 3rd Haku (so I can have all three), and Karin… this one is the only card out of six I was chasing (and the last in my list), well, I want to use her as an assist for Aizen or APandora – well, I’m not using her team anymore.

        At least, I’m reaching 400k MP :/

          1. Yes, I’ve never had bad luck like this, that’s frustrating after gathering 45 stones 😦

I’ve also got a Thuban from my last roll… I’ve got better subs for my Krishna, Is he inheritable as he lacks a UE? Krishna has already inherited Yasutora Sado, Gadius (Saria), ACaoCao (Fire Dragon Knight), R/RSanada, R/LAres. I like the active of Sado, but this one has haste and short cooldown (and a bit worse stats)

  2. Hi Mantastic! I’m the guy who asked you several times about devil row team building and really appreciate your help! I was wondering if I should try rolling for Gremory!

As you know, I have a lot of devil row teams (current using a.pandora) with a.pana, ult. panda, zuoh, haku, oda, lubu, loki. I also have 2 diadem (phantom charge for rows possible for inherit) and heroic blade inhertied on oda. I was wondering- with this team I did beat a1 once; the dream team now needs akechi to pair with haku. Should i focus on this a. panda team or try a gremory- seems to be more op (to be rolled); if so- should i roll this godfest (if so which day) or save up specifically for the samurai godfest? Also, the other stuff like aten/ kaede seems good for my building ronove team

Any advice/ comments welcome! thanks again!

    1. Well Gremory is generally the superior choice in the vast majority of scenarios as a leader when compared to Pandora.

However, if lacking Akechi, it may be wise to wait for a Samurai godfest that overlaps with a 5x GFE event (may have to wait a while) in order to maximize your chances. This godfest is not the greatest imo as you split up Kaede/Kanna and Dark Kali

So based on all of this, Day 1 may be the best to roll for you as it at least has Kaede featured

  3. Day 1 rolles once each on main and alt account. i got Ra and Horus. not what I was going for, but first godfest I’m satisfied with in 2 months.

Told myself i would only roll one i saved up 50 gems on each account. That’s not happening, lol.

  4. Pulled on day 1: went from 83 stones to 38. Got way too many silvers, 2 fake golds, a dupe Gronia, a dupe Spica, and Bastet (the only new card). They need to get rid of silvers from godfests because this is ridiculous. Also, what should I do with my dupe Gronia and Spica?

    Like

    1. Gronia is mostly a SI sub as there are presently no viable row teams. Spica is mostly a niche sub used for God Killer and dual SBR (such as on ALB teams)

And I am sorry for your rolls =(

  5. So I rolled twice today and got Satsuki (dupe) and Kanna who I’d been chasing! I think she now replaces Light Satsuki on Myr and Indra on Ra Dragon. Thoughts on inherits for her? Thinking of just moving my Orochi from Satsuki to her. I do want delays as an option for both teams and she is the only common sub.

    Like

    1. Congrats on Kanna!

You should 100% replace Indra with Kanna. Do you have the ideal team as in theory you should put Orochi on Isis if yes for stat bonus

As for Myr, who else is on your team?

      Like

      1. My team for Ra Dragon is A Isis, D. Kali, R. Kali and Kanna. For inherits I have the purple time extend dmg booster (works about the same as the +skills one for this team which I don’t have), two Orochis, one red Orochi (hydra), Indra. I don’t have any extra Kali inherits and haven’t set any inherits yet. Obv Isis, Kanna and Ra Dragon are options to slap inherits on.

For Myr/Loki I use Apocalypse, Sun Wukong/ADQXQ, ADQXQ/ADQXQ, Satsuki/Orochi. I could use both Satsuki and Kanna and go for more of a TPA based Myr team with Apoc and Sun Wukong.

        1. When using inherits, try your best to match colours, thus do Ra Dragon with Indra, Isis with Orochi, and Kanna with Sheen (purple gemstone). Leave your Kali’s as is OR if you wish, inherit Zeta Hydra onto R Kali for the stat bonus. You will probably not use the delay and simply have it as free SDR

          1. Which Indra? Old three turn no haste or new two turn with haste?

Also curious on putting damage boost on Kanna when she already has it? Just need only one and the free SDR?

            Like

            1. Generally speaking, you choose the the 3 turn shield as the extra turn usually outweighs the haste component.

The idea of inheriting a damage boost on Kanna is to improve upon her lackluster active skill as you do need to run an enhance in most scenarios

  6. YOLO rolled once on main and got Kanna (W00t!). On Alt, got trolled with silver Berserk. Maybe an ok inherit on a mono-red team?

  7. Mantastic! Your blogs are always great. Thanks for keeping up the “Fantastic” work! I have never asked for help and have been doing well by myself on the game so far (780 days and counting). Special bundles aside, I am non-IAP. I have had tremendously better luck with the REM than you have, and I’m not trying to brag, but after spending some stones on the current godfest looking for Isis, per your recommendation in this blog, I actually got Gremory.

I’ve been waiting to get her since she came out. I have some solid choices for Dark/Devil/Rows and I wanted your opinion on how to build a good team and then how you think it still stacks up against Myr. Given that I have a Myr team capable of beating most end game content (still don’t have DXQX!) I feel like Gremory has more potential if you have the right cards, so here is what I built and some of the other cards I also have that I considered:

    L: Gremory (2999)
    1. R. Anubis (3385)
    2. A. Vitra (2980)
    3. Akechi Mitsuhide (3109)
    4. A. Tsukuyomi (2325)

    Pros:
    *Dark rows
    *Some dark enhances
    *Time extends
    *SBR = 100%
    *Active skill for jammers/poison
*All monsters contribute/don’t take away from HC meta.

    Cons:
*No full board changer (I have 2 D. Kalis I could use as assist though, but that doesn’t seem as efficient as a dragonbound, which I don’t have)
*Not a single TPA (on purpose?)
*No awoken skills for jammer/poison resist

Here are some other valid subs I considered:
    Lu Bu (2905)
    Durga (3072)
    A. Okuninushi (2985)
    Zuoh (2746) (no hearts)
    Ulquiorra Shifar (3361)
    A. Loki (2396)
Goetia (1758) (currently assisting A. Yomi)
Thanatos (923) (weak card, but awoken skills rock)

I have a number of other good dark cards, like Eschmali and D. Meta who are all hypermaxed, but obviously they don’t stack in here. Should I be considering non-dark, devil cards?

How can I optimize aside from the obvious, such as reducing skill count and I creasing plus eggs? Thanks for your help!

    1. Glad to hear you managed to roll desirable things form the Godfest along with enjoying my content =)

Generally speaking, Myr is superior to Gremory from an ideal team POV as you do not have to use active skills to unlock your full multiplier.

For your team, you do address many issues that plague Gremory, but you are lacking orb changers along with a full board option which can be frustrating

Do you happen to have any Pandoras, dupe Akechi, Mitsunari (the wood card who creates dark, hearts, and wood orbs along with 2 turns haste), or Apocalypse?

Looking at your team, Vritra does not bring much from an active skill POV along with Yomi as both are damage enhances which are unneeded for Gremory

As Goetia is assisting Yomi, you may find value in inheriting Oku on your Vritra to provide some utility through the delay

From a farmable option POV, you can always acquire a Grisar to provide another orb changer with a fast charging ability and haste

You should also try to pair with a Gremory friend who has a full board changer

      Hope this helps!

  8. woot! I got carat!I am really excited to SI her onto my Sarasvati for my mono water team!
So I decided to pull a few more times (maybe not the best idea, but trigger finger). I was hoping for a dup ronove, a gremory, or another 50k monster. Instead, I got
    Anubis (first one)
    Sun Quan (third)
Valkry (15k is nice, very pretty card)
    Carat
    strawberry dragon (time to stop)

Lot’s of water in their, feels like a heavy water gala (as opposed to light?)

Mantastic, I have quite a few cards in general, can you give me any recommendations on Anubis for how to use? Thanks!

    Like

    1. Congrats on your Carat!

As for your Anubis team building, it is mostly a manner of bringing utility and a few board changers to tackle the dungeon. You can also abuse the SI system to gain additional stats, but for the most part it is matching the whole board every turn and praying for skyfalls

  9. My plan is to pull once each day per acct. Today, I pulled Kaede on main, first one :). Alt got trolled with a silver.

My main has a bunch of green subs (verd x2, revo parvati, revo ceres, vushnu, michael, artemis, asteroth, ruel, osirus, meimei x4, godin, sasuke, balboa, australis, gzl, many of them have tpa awakenings.) RNG loves to give me green 🙂

      1. Day two: main got Goetia, alt got balboa #3. meh. I guess goetia could be an inherit on mono-dark. third balboa is probably not useful.

      1. Edit: I rolled the godfest with my extra gems and I got some cool stuff. I got Kraken Rider, Gale Cyberdragon, Alnair, Blazing Maiden, Princess Valkyrie, and Haku, if that helps anything.

  10. 10 rolls leeza (dupe), kraken rider, dkali, carat, verdandi, fenrir, saria, aten, typhon, mori

All in all amazing rolls considering its my first for most of them and now im at 3/4 ideal radrag subs, too bad im new and cant even farm rogues for mp yet lol.

So i run krishna and i was wondering if verdandi would be a good inherit on my krishna, my only green to red board changer is hatsume and i dont use her since i got 2 sanadas, dantalion (maybe replace danta with her?), and tsubaki

    Like

    1. Congrats on your rolls!

As for your Verdandi question, she is a very powerful inherit on Krishna teams if you are lacking a full board changer. Expanding upon that, you can also use Saria as well if you have someone like Chiyome to combo with

  11. I’m a little surprised to see Fenrir at 50k MP value – I get that it’s basically an on-demand nuke, but is he really that useful as a lead?

  12. Seems like Kannas were raining down on day 1: I rolled aiming for her to complete my Ra Dra team (already got Isis and two DKalis), and she only took 4 rolls to come out. I also got Indra and Orochi for inherits, so needless to say, I’m excited.

As for the review: it’s a bit too late for that now, but it may be worth comparing Revo Horus with Ace Horus, as the two have drastically different actives. That said, the Ace version is still just a sub with a relatively common active, so I can see why you’d skip over it.

    Like

    1. Congrats on such a stellar Ra Dragon team!

As for Ace Horus, it is really not that great, we already have plenty of Light Kali style actives you can inherit/replicate and are better off in the majority of situations with Reincarnated Horus

  13. I rolled twice yesterday, got Balboa and U&Y, which was nice. I didn’t have either, so day 1 was super awesome. Today, however…I rolled through 4 trash eggs before Haku showed up and I decided not to push my luck further.

Now that I have Haku in the house, my dark subs are total ballerswag. Satsuki, Typhon, Akechi, Grisar, Lumiel, Z8…might be time to awaken my Pandora.

Hope your Godfest rolls go well if you’re participating!

  14. Finally started an alt account.

Day 1: Isis, Undine, Ronove, Red Sonia
Day 2: Beast Rider, Fafnir, Paimon

I’m going to try and get to more rolls. This is a great time to start because most stuff is max lv and +20

  15. I am definitely avoiding collabs except for the free rolls . The free NY Mejedra reinforced my decision to avoid collabs on this account. Sadly for my main account, my poor impulse control will not allow me to quit collabs.

Right now I’m using Isis as a lead paired with friend Isis or Sherias . When it’s time for descends I’ll find a friend Lu Bu and pair with Red Sonia or if I have enough TEs go with Ronove.

  16. All I really wanted was a Karin this GF, or at least a good 6 star GFE I don’t have (pretty much just Ronove or Ilm). Instead I was drowned in dupe Bastets and Anubises. Probably RNGsus’s way of balancing out the fact that I rolled 5 6 stars last GF (Blue Sonia, Sheria Root, Paimon, and 2 Dantalions)

      1. I rolled a pack and got Romia, Nomi, Barbara, Sheena, Momiji, Kuvia and dupes, and an Elgenubi one the free roll on my alt account. I might roll another pack to try for Ilmina
