Godfest basics

When making the decision to roll or save your magic stones, you need to determine if the featured pantheons can benefit or complement your teams. Chasing for one specific monster is unwise as you will most likely be disappointed and should ideally have Godfests that overlap with many target cards. Remember all monsters that come out of the REM will qualify for Skill Inheritance so do not be too hasty when selling dupes. Introduction

The Flight of the Dragon Lords Godfest features the first ever 6x GFE rates for NA/EU along with +50 to a random stat to all rolls. While 6x is a new milestone, it comes with no featured pantheons along with a questionable 2x rates carnival.

However, GungHo will also be tempting players with two brand new Godfest Exclusives: Cthugha  and the all mighty Yog-Sothoth .

While Cthugha offers an interesting kit, the real prize and focus will be on Yog-Sothoth who is capable of leading one of the strongest teams in the game that has a low skill cap, modest orb requirements, and outrageous damage potential combined with a defensive multiplier.

Ranking the cards – Pantheons & GFE

These rankings I assign cards are my own and take into consideration the card’s value as a leader, sub, inherit, and possibly any niche role they fulfill. In order to rank in the highest tier, the card has to excel in their respective role and cannot feasibly be replaced by anyone else. This can also be thought of as a Best in Slot card and tends to have applications on the top tier teams.

Despite my best to remain neutral, there is always the potential for bias and you need to be able to examine a card and determine if it can benefit your unique Monster Box and situation.

Legend guide

Symbols condense the time spent processing information and here is a brief explanation for each one I will use:

S

The best of the best. These cards compromise a best in slot role on top tier teams. They are largely irreplaceable and tend to offer something unique that cannot be easily replicated. This mostly exists to showcase the jump in power between the rest of the cards available.

A

All of the cards in this tier bring tremendous value to a variety of teams as either leaders, subs, or inherits that are challenging to mimic elsewhere. For example, Green Odin  remains one of the strongest bind clears and only card that can remove 5 turns of awoken skill binds (outside of Odin Dragon ). It may not be paramount to your success, but is well worth owning overall.

B

This category indicates cards that have value, but are not as widely used/irreplaceable as the above tier(s). While they may make your life easier and still bring an additional layer of power to your team, they are far from necessary. With that being said, some of these cards could hold the key to your own teams as everyone has different tools to work with.

C

Cards in the question mark category tend to be those that are a luxury and are often not widely used for the average player. With that being said, they may bring niche value to your monster box or provide an additional option to use. A great example of this is Red Odin  who is a premiere button farming option, but with the addition of Red Tamazo , players at least have a “farmable” poison inherit along with the future implementation of Descend inherits.

D

This category indicates the bottom of the Puzzle and Dragons barrel. These cards tend to have almost minimal value as they simply do not fit in the current meta and are badly in need of a buff or new evolution to give them viability. With that being said, you should still keep them as they technically have the most potential for improvement.

This arrow indicates if a card has moved up since the last posting/tier list. The category/bracket they are placed in will be their new home and each arrow will show how many brackets they moved up (eg. 2 will indicate they climbed up two rankings).

This takes into consideration the the + and – within tiers.

This arrow indicates if a card has moved down since the last posting/tier list. The category they are placed in will be their new home and each arrow will show how many brackets they moved down (eg. 2 will indicate they were demoted down by two rankings).

+

A + indicates that these cards are relatively stronger than the other cards in that respective tier bracket and are trying to move up and may do so if a minor buff or new card/evo is released that can full capitalize on their strengths.

No plus/minus

No plus/minus indicates that the card is in the middle of their respective tier bracket.

A – indicates that this card is relatively weaker than the others in their respective tier bracket and are on the cusp of being demoted.

New Godfest Exclusive overview

Cthugha  and Yog-Sothoth  will both be their Puzzle and Dragons debut in the Flight of the Dragon Lords Godfest. Yog is going to be one of the most desirable cards in the game due to his relatively unprecedented leadership potential. His ability to lead one of the strongest teams in the game is further compounded by his ease of usage along with relatively flexible team building requirements.

On the other hand, Cthugha is an interesting 5-star GFE who has a flexible utility-based active skill. His potency as a leader is naturally lower compared to Yog, but Cthugha retains formidable prowess as a sub due to his offensive-based awakenings.

Yog-Sothoth – S

Yog will remain one of the most desirable leaders for the foreseeable future and I did write a comprehensive article which can be found HERE. However, here is a snippet of the Pros and Cons for those who simply want a tldr version.

Cthugha – A

Cthugha is a brand new 5-star Godfest Exclusive that brings an interesting utility-oriented active skill for combo-focused teams, While +2 combo count actives are becoming slightly more common, one may want to have certain additional benefits alongside.

Cthugha is able to provide +2 combo count for 1 turn along with two turns of haste. This is significantly more flexible compared to Meridionalis  who generates numerous water orbs which is often counter intuitive for combo teams. Furthermore, 2 turns of haste will always have merit, even outside of combo teams.

Button coop farming teams are always looking for new and exciting ways to overcome combo shields along with being able to cycle through their active skills more efficiently. As such, Cthugha can make a wonderful inherit for these situations.

In addition, Cthugha has merits as a sub on combo teams due to his dual TPA  and coop boost  awakenings. Coop boost provides 50% more base stats to a given monster when used in coop. Thus, Cthugha is able to greatly benefit from his 1,000 weighted stats.

While eclipsed by Yog as a leader, Cthugha still retains modest leadership potential that is quite effective in coop mode. Cthugha is able to produce 156.25x ATK team with 43.75% damage reduction when achieving 7 combos. However, he also has an HP-clause, but is lowered down to 50% for full multiplier. As such, if you are able to keep your health above 50%, you will be able to deal the highest damage output of other combo leaders at 7 combos (feasible on nearly every given board), but you will be vulnerable to binds, preemptives, and must bring some form of self healing to succeed.

Pantheon tier list

Due to the way that Powercreep works and how GungHo does not actually nerf cards, I may have to do a soft reset in a few months where I demote everything but the very top down 1 ranking and then readjust if things have become stronger. Presently, I only demote cards if I have overvalued them or they have completely fallen out of the meta. However, this is not the case for this list’s ranking but may be something I do in the future.

As with any tier list, you should take these rankings with a grain of salt as individual cards may have more or less value for your particular monster box.

GFE tier list

I feel that having a tier list that visually ranks the various GFE against each other when looking at their viability as a leader, sub, assist, or niche role is beneficial. Being able to cover numerous aspects will result in a higher placing along with their value in rolling dupes. This will attempt to rate these cards from a general box point of view and your individual situation will dictate just how important each card is.

Generally speaking, if a this is your first time acquiring a GFE, it will have at least some value and you should never sell a non-duplicate card.

This is an updated list compared to last time to reflect the new evolutions that have been announced/released in JP. Within each tier, the cards are in no particular order and is simply how they appear in my icons master list or after reshuffling.

Notable changes

Skuld A -> S

Perhaps I undervalued Skuld’s  power on my previous ranking, but then again, Monster Hunter was not confirmed for NA/EU which dramatically bolsters her potency. Monster Hunter Collab has given us both Blue Hunter  and Diablos  who can both efficiently capitalize on her strengths.

Skuld boasts two 7 combo  and a Follow Up Attack  awakening which makes her your hardest hitting sub on combo teams along with possessing the ability to bypass Resolve bosses. However, it may have been challenging to use her on non-Monster Hunter teams as Anubis  requires 8 combos for activation which is often not possible when forming a column of heart orbs along with lacking Healer typing for Kushinadahime .

However, for Blue Hunter, you are able to achieve potent damage at 7 combos along with having Skuld being on-colour. Furthermore, with a Diablos leading a team, the 7×6 board will enable you to fully capitalize on Skuld’s strengths regardless or the other leader pairing.

Amusingly, all the S-tier cards are 6-star GFE.

No Pantheon or true Carnival

The Flight of the Dragon Lords Godfest features no Pantheon cards along with a semi-bizarre Carnival that features the Brave 2 and Wisedragon series at 2x rates.

This has to be the lowest boosted rates in recent memory along with the Brave 2 series being 6-star bases. As such, you cannot feasibly rely on the Carnival to act as a buffer against missed GFE rolls.

It is my understanding that all cards have a base roll value that is amplified through Godfests. Thus, having fewer boosted cards (or incredibly rare cards being boosted) will have a lower overall effect on your roll rates. As such, there is the strong possibility to acquire numerous silver eggs despite it being the best time to roll GFE.

As such, you need to evaluate how important each day is and whether or not there are enough prizes worth pursuing.

Putting it all together

6x GFE rates apply. No Pantheon, but a strange 2x rates Carnival. Only including the featured GFE and not the Carnival. Cards are listed in no particular order

Conclusion

The Flight of the Dragon Lords Godfest features the first ever 6x GFE rates for NA/EU, but it comes with no featured Pantheons and a 2x Carnival. However, the debut of the highly anticipated Yog-Sothoth  may be enough temptation to entice players to roll.
