Godfest basics

When making the decision to roll or save your magic stones, you need to determine if the featured pantheons can benefit or complement your teams. Chasing for one specific monster is unwise as you will most likely be disappointed and should ideally have Godfests that overlap with many target cards. Remember all monsters that come out of the REM will qualify for Skill Inheritance so do not be too hasty when selling dupes. Introduction

The 5th year Anniversary Godfest comes quite quickly after the most recent Godfest and features all of the Godfest Exclusives at surprise, surprise, 5x rates. Also, it mirrors the idea of the Candy Cornucopia Godfest of having specific cards featured at 10x rates on certain days.

However, the 5th Year Anniversary builds a stronger Godfest as we have +30 stats as a collateral benefit while also occuring alongside a special no-Silver carnival.

This no-Silver carnival guarantees all rolls come out as gold or higher which can potentially boost overall rolling rates. Just bear in mind you can still roll the evolved forms of the Silver eggs.

Perhaps this no-Silver carnival helps counterout the fact that there are no featured Pantheon cards but this is certainly better overall compared to Candy Cornucopia.

This article will include the usual tier list as well as a brief review of Kamimusubi  and Takamimusubi .

Ranking the cards – Pantheons & GFE

These rankings I assign cards are my own and take into consideration the card’s value as a leader, sub, inherit, and possibly any niche role they fulfill. In order to rank in the highest tier, the card has to excel in their respective role and cannot feasibly be replaced by anyone else. This can also be thought of as a Best in Slot card and tends to have applications on the top tier teams.

Despite my best to remain neutral, there is always the potential for bias and you need to be able to examine a card and determine if it can benefit your unique Monster Box and situation.

Legend guide

Symbols condense the time spent processing information and here is a brief explanation for each one I will use:

S

The best of the best. These cards compromise a best in slot role on top tier teams. They are largely irreplaceable and tend to offer something unique that cannot be easily replicated. This mostly exists to showcase the jump in power between the rest of the cards available.

A

All of the cards in this tier bring tremendous value to a variety of teams as either leaders, subs, or inherits that are challenging to mimic elsewhere. For example, Green Odin  remains one of the strongest bind clears and only card that can remove 5 turns of awoken skill binds (outside of Odin Dragon ). It may not be paramount to your success, but is well worth owning overall.

B

This category indicates cards that have value, but are not as widely used/irreplaceable as the above tier(s). While they may make your life easier and still bring an additional layer of power to your team, they are far from necessary. With that being said, some of these cards could hold the key to your own teams as everyone has different tools to work with.

C

Cards in the question mark category tend to be those that are a luxury and are often not widely used for the average player. With that being said, they may bring niche value to your monster box or provide an additional option to use. A great example of this is Red Odin  who is a premiere button farming option, but with the addition of Red Tamazo , players at least have a “farmable” poison inherit along with the future implementation of Descend inherits.

D

This category indicates the bottom of the Puzzle and Dragons barrel. These cards tend to have almost minimal value as they simply do not fit in the current meta and are badly in need of a buff or new evolution to give them viability. With that being said, you should still keep them as they technically have the most potential for improvement.

This arrow indicates if a card has moved up since the last posting/tier list. The category/bracket they are placed in will be their new home and each arrow will show how many brackets they moved up (eg. 2 will indicate they climbed up two rankings).

This takes into consideration the the + and – within tiers.

This arrow indicates if a card has moved down since the last posting/tier list. The category they are placed in will be their new home and each arrow will show how many brackets they moved down (eg. 2 will indicate they were demoted down by two rankings).

This takes into consideration the the + and – within tiers.

+

A + indicates that these cards are relatively stronger than the other cards in that respective tier bracket and are trying to move up and may do so if a minor buff or new card/evo is released that can full capitalize on their strengths.

No plus/minus

No plus/minus indicates that the card is in the middle of their respective tier bracket.

–

A – indicates that this card is relatively weaker than the others in their respective tier bracket and are on the cusp of being demoted.

New Godfest Exclusives overview

Ney  is a newish 6-star GFE who features the first ever 5-evolution path that results in a uniquely powerful card who can be utilized by every single player. I go into more detail about Ney in my full review HERE. However. this is somewhat old news and the main focus will be on Kamimusubi  and Takamimusubi .

 Kamimusubi – S (6*)

Kamimusubi is challenging to type and is often referred to as Kami. Regardless, if we were to compare her to an existing card, the closest would be Yog  due to the similar style of leader skill.

Kami requires you to be above 80% to deal maximum damage when matching both wood and dark combos. However, her damage sharply declines when below 80% and her base active skill is significantly weaker.

Yog is somewhat revered for his incredible active skill as it accomplishes several key factors at once. Unfortunately, Kami’s ability is rather lackluster as the 50% chance for enhance orb skyfall is strange at best. Granted she can heal for 30% of your maximum HP to help push you back into your zone, it is still flat by comparison. Thankfully, she boasts a short 5-turn cooldown that can be inherited over which is amazing if using her as a sub.

Now, I do not want to make Kami look weak as a leader because she is still amazingly powerful as she has natural access to Follow Up Attack (FUA)  and a blisteringly high multiplier. Like any health sensitive leader, Kami will tend to excel in shorter dungeons where you can plan/budget active skills accordingly. She can obliterate challenging content with minimal comboing and will add a nice layer of diversity to your leadership roster.

However, one major appeal for Kami is that she is the only dark card (at this point in time, will change in the future) with a FUA   awakening. FUA has become vital in high level content where bosses have variuos shields, absorbs, voids, combo shields, Resolves, terrifying mechanics and the ability to bake a cake. Thus, being able to trivialize one dangerous mechanic is invaluable as it improves consistency and saves an active skill. Furthermore, being the only dark card to boast this amazing awakening adds to her overall appeal.

 Takamimusubi – B (5*)

Takamimusubi is the only card in the game that can provide 3 turns of haste. Unfortunately, this comes at the cost of a lengthy 20 turn cooldown while offering 300% orb movement time as a collateral benefit. Thus, it would be hard to justify this as an inherit for active skill cycling as it takes far too long and does not provide a board changer or meaningful secondary benefit. Options like Mori  or Mitsunari  boast a much shorter base cooldown, 2 turns of haste, and a powerful board changer.

As a result, we need to look at Takamimusubi as a leader. Thankfully, they have an interesting mechanic as they provide no skyfalls and a combination of rainbow and board matching for their multiplier.

One part of Takamimusubi requires you to match any 4/5 colours while the other wants you to leave 5 or less orbs after matching. Thus, you can have up to 400x ATK when fulfilling both these requirements. While this may seem daunting, it is reasonably consistent as you can in theory connect orbs into more than sets of 3 to ensure only 5 or less remain. In addition, having the flexibility  of matching 4/5 colours helps further improve activation consistency. Furthermore, there is no combo threshold required so you can match blobs provided you fulfill the two clauses.

Sadly, this relegates him into a glass cannon leader due to no defensive multiplier or shielding component. We already have plenty of hard hitting leaders who can achieve similar levels of damage for far less effort, are more consistent, or have defensive capabilities.

Pantheon tier list

Due to the way that Powercreep works and how GungHo does not actually nerf cards, I may have to do a soft reset in a few months where I demote everything but the very top down 1 ranking and then readjust if things have become stronger. Presently, I only demote cards if I have overvalued them or they have completely fallen out of the meta. However, this is not the case for this list’s ranking but may be something I do in the future.

As with any tier list, you should take these rankings with a grain of salt as individual cards may have more or less value for your particular monster box.

Notable changes

  Tachibana and Inahime S -> S+

7 Combo  is the way of the future and while it is becoming more common to have cards that feature two of these awakenings, it is hard to deny the power of these two. Furthermore, their 75% damage reduction shield enables you to potentially counter two mechanics in one active. Finally, if left unevolved, the +2 combo count can make a significant difference for combo teams.

   Facet, Kushinadahime, Haku S+ -> S

Facet is still a potent burst inherit; however, TPA-oriented  are on the decline and the universal accessibility of Carat  paired with 5 SB  like the farmable Whaledor  provides a much higher multiplier.

Kushinadahime is still a fantastic leader but her main problem is her damage output is somewhat capped by the lack of skyfalls. This also ties into the theme that damage control is a thing of the past as we now have FUA , Box , and Fujin  style actives. Thus, the lower damage ceiling paired with the lower need for damage control begins the decline of Kushinadahime.

Finally, Haku is mostly suffering from a Dark Athena and Kushinadahime downfall as both these teams are somewhat on the decline. Haku only boasts a single 7c and combo-oriented teams have better options overall. You also have to remember that Haku was one of the first potent 7 combo cards available and her typing allowed her to be used on these previously meta teams.

 Nene A -> S-

Nene should have probably been moved up with the rest of her pantheon last time as she can lead both a powerful team and have an amazing active as an inherit. Being able to form a +2 combo board consisting of water, light and hearts has amazing applications for Ameno  and other mono-light teams.

On a side note, I will concede that trying to manage a full tier list is challenging especially when dealing with cards below S. It is easier to lump cards into the full letter category but becomes challenging when trying to distinguish when dealing with + and -. Finally, I personally find it simpler to manage the very  top as it is more clear who is the best of the best.

GFE tier list

I feel that having a tier list that visually ranks the various GFE against each other when looking at their viability as a leader, sub, assist, or niche role is beneficial. Being able to cover numerous aspects will result in a higher placing along with their value in rolling dupes. This will attempt to rate these cards from a general box point of view and your individual situation will dictate just how important each card is.

Generally speaking, if a this is your first time acquiring a GFE, it will have at least some value and you should never sell a non-duplicate card.

This is an updated list compared to last time to reflect the new evolutions that have been announced/released in JP. Within each tier, the cards are in no particular order and is simply how they appear in my icons master list or after reshuffling.

Notable changes

No new changes as this was previously updated less than 2 weeks ago. Thus, I will just simply leave my explanations from last article below.

   B -> A

Sylvie, Fenrir Viz, and Paimon all have received new and exciting evolutions that grant them new awakenings that help solidify their usage in the current meta.

Sylvie gains the wonderful 7 Combo  and FUA  while Fenrir Viz acquires a second God Killer . Finally, Paimon solidifies his place on Yog  teams with his incredible base HP and FUA.

  B -> A

Aten and Baldin are both on the rise due to the power of multiple Killer awakenings. Stacking Killer awakenings can enable them to deal 9x or even 27x to various spawns which is often complete overkill. Furthermore, with the introduction of FUA and variuos Fujin -style actives, the need for damage control is on the decline. If they were to somehow magically gain a Box  awakening, it would make the game too easy.

 S -> A

Dark Metatron is one of my favourite leaders but I have to admit that she is on the decline. This is not because she has lost power, but falls victim to the natural flow of Powercreep in that she is being overshadowed by stronger options. This includes the sexier 2 combo leaders and now Raphael  for Liu Bei pairing  for no Skyfall farming.

  A -> B

Raijin and Gremory are just not competitive options in this day and age. Neither is a powerful leader when compared to the top tier options and their sub usage is scattered at best. However, they are still nice to have but no longer fit in the A-tier.

 Sherias D -> C

Sherias’s new evolution will grant them more usage as they can now utilize their poor base active skill to trigger their Guard Break  along with boasting both Devil  and Healer  Killer awakenings.

RIP Light Kali .

 Kanna B -> C

Kanna was once an S-tier card and highly desirable to own. Sadly, she has been pushed into partial obscurity with the introduction of 7 Combo  awakenings and the decline of Ra Dragon . Kanna is no longer able to keep abreast with other options for burst damage potential along with having one of the worst base active skills in the game. It is problematic for both the lackluster effect and long cooldown that makes it challenging to efficiently inherit over.

Interesting Carnival

The 5th Year Anniversary occurs alongside the no-Silver carnival. This means that every roll will come out as either a Gold or Diamond egg. Thus, this improves overall rolling rates as you are unable to roll Silvers in their base form; however, you can still roll them in their evolved forms.

Day 1 does feature all of the S-tier GFE but has a much weaker 10x line up compared to Day 2 as Raijin is no longer very desirable. Thus, if I were to roll in one day assuming I had nothing to begin with, Day 2 would be better value.

Conclusion

The 5th Year Anniversary Godfest is a significant improvement compared to the Candy Cornucopia Godfest due to the no-Silver carnival. This carnival will have a positive effect on rolling rates as you can at least avoid Silvers in their base form.
