April 14-15 Godfest Overview

 Godfest Basics

The format for Godfests has been dramatically changed through their REM Renewal along with Full Disclosure of Rolling Rates. These changes dramatically improve your chances of rolling a specific card as the pool of available monsters is significantly smaller as only a portion of the all possible monsters are featured at a given time. This is great news for players as you are better able to focus your Magic Stones on key cards.

Godfests no longer advertise “rate increases” and instead Highlighted specific cards along with 6* Godfest Exclusives being available. As such, these events are the best time to roll the REM as the current meta is heavily favouring these rare and elusive monsters.

Rolling rates may change or vary with each Godfest event and some 6* GFE may have higher rolling rates.

Introduction

The upcoming Godfest begins on April 14 and runs until April 15 and will once again feature twenty 6-star Godfest Exclusives. While the overall roster is reasonable overall, the GHNA Facebook page annoucned that Heroine REM will return this coming Monday.

With this in mind, it is better to hold off rolling in this Godfest and instead spend your Magic Stones on Heroine as it does hold numerous key and powerful cards. Just remember that Godfests will always be here and this current roster is average overall.

On a different note, the Twitch Stream will also announce the winner of the MP Survey which may also influence the decision to roll in future Godfests. On a somewhat side note, if you are desperate for MP, Heroine has a better ratio of MP to Stone consumption if selling off rolls.

As with any Godfest, the decision of whether to roll or not will be dependent on your own Monster Box and individual needs.

Godfest overview

Unlike Godfests of the past, only some 6* GFE will be featured. If they are listed as unavailable, you will be unable to roll them during the event.

You ideally wish to line up a Godfest that overlaps with several key targets to improve your overall chances of success. Thus, it may be advantageous to wait for a more opportune Godfest if the current one does not feature enough key targets.

Based on the revealed rolling rates, 6* GFE will have 0.6% hit rate each for a total of (0.6*20) 12% for any 6* GFE. With that being said, some 6* GFE may feature an increased rate and you simply have to check the displayed rolling rates each time.

Looking at the past Godfest, all of the unavailable cards are now featured this time around.

GFE Tier list

This list reflects a card’s overall usage/viability in the current meta as well as moving forward. Cards are in no particular order within each tier.

Use these rankings as a starting point and not as absolute truth. Highly valued cards only have merit if you have a team to support them so they are somewhat subjective to your own Monster Box.

Regardless of card’s ranking, you should always keep the first copy of anything you roll

The Godfest roster is average overall and in all honesty not that exciting considering we are most likely going to have the Heroine REM return soon based on the announcement by GHEU. However, the official GHNA Twitch stream occurs not this, but the following Friday, but i am still confident they will announce something better than this Godfest.

Notable changes
3236 Ilm S -> A

My rationale for ranking Ilm as S was for ranking dungeons that NA does not seem to get. By comparison, JP has had countless more Ranking Dungeons and Ilm was a key card for many of them. This is because they have the fastest animation for a bi-elemental board changer and is favourable for “Casino” play styles.

In essence, Casino tactics is using a 7×6 board, activating a bi-colour board changer and then swiping as fast as you can and praying combos are formed. Sounds risky but actually has reasonable consistency and it was vital to own numerous Ilms to do this.

However, I am skeptical as to the rate of Ranking Dungeons despite having had 2 in quick succession.

Future GFE Trading Post

In a future update, players will be able to trade in four 6* GFE (along with specific rare Collab pulls) for a valuable card of your choice. This feature is already live in JP and has given players the chance to trade out excessive duplicates for specific cards. This is most valuable for sniping the top prizes in Collabs/Seasonal REMs.

While this does hold a net cost of 200,000 MP, the exchange is almost always worthwhile provided you are gaining something of tremendous value.

With that being said, GungHo is now releasing “Mega Awoken” 6* GFE which is essentially animating them and giving them a new active skill. This is really an Awoken evolution but maybe they include the word Mega to indicate it is more special/animated or that you need to spend a mega amount of Magic Stones to roll them. Regardless, it can potentially breath brand new life into your 6* GFE so trading them away before their eventual Mega Awakening may be risky.

In essence, do not sell any of your 6* GFE dupes.

New 7* GFE revealed

JP has revealed an animated 7* base GFE (Zera) who is going to be an incredible card to own. However, her rolling rates will presumably be lower overall and is a long way from arriving in NA.

You can read more about Zera on padx HERE.

Pantheon/5* GFE Highlights

With the presence of a Godfest, only 6* GFE are Highlighted. As a result, the 6* Pantheon cards now lose their Highlighted rates and drop down to 0.64% chance to roll which makes them on par with 6* GFE.

This creates an interesting conundrum, during non-Godfest events, the chances of you rolling a 6* Pantheon card are significantly higher but you cannot acquire the GFE.

With this in mind, it is still best to roll in Godfest events as the 6* GFE tend to be stronger overall and you can at least still roll a 6* Pantheon card at the same time.

Rolling rates may change each Godfest so always double check the line up beforehand.

Featured Cards

The Rare Egg Machine will continuously rotate various Pantheon and former 5* GFE cards that will overlap with Godfests. This will not be an exhaustive list of all the featured cards so always check the line up for more information.

The inclusion of the Greco-Roman 3 Pantheon gives us the chance at rolling one of three triple 7 Combo 45 awakening cards (  ) while the inclusion of Lugh  provides another chance at a Fujin  style active.

Collabs vs Godfests

Prior to the reveal, it was quite risky to roll in Collabs as they often left players more disappointing than anything else. However, after seeing the Monster Hunter rolling rates, you have a pretty solid chance at acquiring a 7*+ card. Of course you will have to weigh the pros and cons along with examining the lowest rarity rolls from the Collab.

One interesting point is that Macha has a 0.6% rate while the top prizes in Monster Hunter had 2% and 5.22% for 6*. If that Collab rate carries over to the Dragonbound & Dragon Caller event, you would have around a 5% chance of rolling Li for the Leader Swap active.

With that being said, Collabs are starting to shift towards the strongest cards in the game. This is unfortunate for newer players as there is simply not enough Magic Stones to go around. This mostly comes on the heels of the revamped Heroine Event along with Dragon Bound & Dragon Caller and Monster Hunter being the top 3 that NA has received.

Thus, it has become more valuable for veteran player to roll in Collabs due to the fact that it offers cards you cannot otherwise replicate. On the other hand, newer players will tend to find more merit in regular Godfests as they need to round out their Monster Box before chasing more niche cards.

Conclusion

This upcoming Godfest features average overall and comes right before the arrival of the highly anticipated Heroine REM. With this in mind, it will usually be better to spend your Magic Stones on the special Heroine machine as it offers better value overall along with all the older cards gaining the ability to Limit Break as well as Super Awakenings. My review for the Heroine REM will be released some time over the weekend.

The new format of Godfests will require more patience overall since only a few cards will be featured at a given time. While this enables you to better snipe a key card, it also means you have to make peace with hoarding stones until the cards you truly want are featured.

Godfests remove the Highlighted status of Pantheon cards to make space for the 6* GFE and while this can be frustrating, Godfests are still the best time to roll the REM.

Let me know what you think about this Godfest and any suggestions to formatting future Godfest posts in the comments below.

Happy Puzzling!

  1. Honestly, this still seems like a really good GodFest to roll in. As a day 1 player with only 3 of these 20 cards and no Fujin, Cotton, Gronia, Blonia (among several other non-features like Kaede) its really tempting to go in on this over Heroines as I already have copies of the 5* and only Navi as my 6*.

Its hard to call this a “pass” for me when a lot of the cards here are constantly praised by various discussion forums.

    1. If you feel this Godfest holds numerous key cards for your box, it is worth rolling. Also, since you do own Heroine cards, the appeal of rolling in it is naturally lower

      1. I just wanted to add my 2 cents for this machine since it seems like everyone is calling it a hard pass when really its only missing Kaede and maybe Yog before it contains every powerful 6* GFE.

There’s also the option of saving for the illustrious 6 stone 6* only machine possibly in November..

        1. I feel that the main rationale behind it being a pass is Godfests are somewhat lackluster in general for a more developed box. This is because Collabs tend to hold all the best leaders and you can somewhat get by with less optimal subs by comparison

As for the 6-stone REM, there is no confirmation we will get it since NA does not always get the same events (eg. Gachadragon)

  2. Zera is a card that pushes the limits of our current meta, when considered as a sub for Gronia, in her 7c form. Her box form isn’t bad persay, but without 7c to go along with her box, she’ll struggle to punch through the higher HP spawns, on her own.

    As always, love your articles.

  3. Something that i think is very much worth mentioning as Heroine is coming up on monday:In jp,Heroine rem was immediately followed up by the Dragon forest rem,so i would advise making decisions on what 10 stone rem you want to roll asap,as people might need some of the dragon rem content more than the heroine rem but could accidentally splurge on Heroines without knwoing that Dragon REM is following up after it.

    1. Nah. The chances of NA schedule to be in sync with that of JP is low. If Dragon REM does come right after Heroine, RIP my wallet.

        1. The only thing we are off schedule on are ranking dungeons, otherwise everything is dropping at the same time the way jp did back then
Hexazeon (the big ol animated dragon for the 6th anniversary) has been added to NA files, amen and co are dropping on monday, gronia, blonia, awokens, fujin, raijin, and aten, also all dropped at that same time in JP.The only thing even mildly different is that heroine dropped 3 days before those updates, and that was prolly more due to the way collabs always start on monday on NA.
So yeah, chances are actually very high that the DCDB drop will be the week after heroine.

  4. Hey Mantastic! You’re my go-to for PAD info (especially when a new god fest rolls round). Do you think we’ll ever see rate boosts again? Or would that be a legal no-no for gungho? It makes me wonder if those 8x, 10x, boosts in the past were actually real. For all we know without seeing the previous rate percentages it could have been nothing but “roll bait”. Maybe it was all a placebo but rolling used to feel exciting. On the other hand, seeing the real percents has definitely kept me from spending stones.

    1. We do actually have subtle rate boosts, they are just not openly advertised. If you look at the Godfest line ups, you will see that sometimes 6* GFE have higher rates than others.

As for the placebo effect, that is very well a possibility but also not knowing the odds does make you feel better/more eager because its not a 0.6% chance to get your fav card and instead 5x etc
