July 21-22 Godfest Review Plus Reeche & Celtic Commentary

Godfest Basics

The format for Godfests has been dramatically changed through their REM Renewal along with Full Disclosure of Rolling Rates. These changes dramatically improve your chances of rolling a specific card as the pool of available monsters is significantly smaller as only a portion of the all possible monsters are featured at a given time. This is great news for players as you are better able to focus your Magic Stones on key cards.

Godfests no longer advertise “rate increases” and instead Highlighted specific cards along with 6/7* Godfest Exclusives being available. As such, these events are the best time to roll the REM as the current meta is heavily favouring these rare and elusive monsters.

Rolling rates may change or vary with each Godfest event and some 6/7* GFE may have higher rolling rates. Always check the rolling rates before proceeding.

Introduction

Saturday marks the return of our bi-monthly Godfests and features the brand new 7-star GFE, Reeche . Reechie is an incredibly powerful card but her debut is alongside a vanilla Godfest and there is strong speculation that a Super Godfest is due in the near future. In fact, this Godfest could be the worst to date from a 6/7-star perspective as there are only 17 total GFE featured and assuming the 0.6/0.5& rolling rates, it will be even harder to acquire any one of them.

A Super Godfest is the best time to acquire a 6-star GFE and the particular one acquired has become less important now due to the Monster Exchange System. The Monster Exchange System enables players to trade in four 6-star GFE for a rare Collab card of their choice. As such, having a larger pool of 6-stars to draw upon has become vital to acquiring what are arguably the strongest cards in the game.

Thus, it is best to wait for the soon-to-come Super Godfest and simply pass on this event all together.

This article will summarize the cards available along with providing insight into Reeche and the featured Celtic Pantheon.

Godfest overview

Unlike Godfests of the past, only some 6/7* GFE will be featured. If they are listed as unavailable, you will be unable to roll them during the event.

You ideally wish to line up a Godfest that overlaps with several key targets to improve your overall chances of success. Thus, it may be advantageous to wait for a more opportune Godfest if the current one does not feature enough key targets.

Based on the revealed rolling rates of previous Godfests, 6* GFE will have 0.6% hit rate whereas the 7* had 0.5%. With that being said, some GFE may feature an increased rate and you simply have to check the displayed rolling rates each time.

On a side note, Typhon , Ryune , and Sylvie  are absent for the second time in a row.

This Godfest features five less 6* GFE and one more 7* GFE
Assuming standard rolling rates, this will be the lowest Godfest since the REM Renewal for acquiring any 6/7* GFE

Thoughts

Reeche is an incredibly powerful 7-star Godfest Exclusive as she combines both an amazing Active and Leader Skill along with favourable awakenings and weighted stats.

Active Skill

Reeche has one of the most all encompassing and powerful actives in the game as it provides 4 unique components on a 30 turn cooldown:

  • Orb unlock
  • 6-elemental board changer
  • Colour absorb void
  • Damage absorb void (Fujin )

Each aspect is valuable but it would be rare that one would actually need all 4 at the same time; however, at the very worst, 2/4 will always be helpful. Regardless, by having so many aspects being addressed at once can greatly open up team compositions as one would need to bring less counters to various mechanics.

Orb unlocking followed by a 6-elemental board changer (5 colours + hearts) provides activation requirements for most leaders along with the ability to heal and deal damage. This is wonderful as players will always remove hazard orbs as they will be unlocked prior to orb changing. While this does seem powerful, it should usually be on an 8-turn cooldown as it mirrors Raijin’s 3416 active.

On the otherhand, Damage Absorption Voids have become increasingly more common and it becomes a matter of finding the best secondary effect possible. Presently speaking, Lugh  has the purest form of this active on an 18-turn cooldown as he comes with no secondary effect. Through simple math and combining Raijin + Lugh, one should expect an 8+18 = 26 turn cooldown which is only 2 turns more than Uruka  who does not have an orb unlocking component.

Finally, tacking on the Colour Absorb Void only adds an additional 4 turns to the hypothetical 26 turn cooldown for a grand total of 30.

Overall, this active has tremendous value and are simply “paying” for it via the long cooldown. Thankfully, the two Skill Charges  can potentially bring the effective cooldown down to 10.

Each Skill Charge provides a single turn of personal haste for the owning card when matching Fire, Water, Wood, Light, and Dark orbs. Thus, owning two provides 2 turns of haste and means Reeche can reduce the cooldown by 3 each turn provided all colours are matched. This has wonderful synergy with their Leader Skill as one is already pursuing a Rainbow match every turn but makes it more challenging to inherit Reeche as the new base card will have to deal with the full 30 turn cooldown.

Leader Skill

Like her active skill, Reeche has several components to her Leader Skill and this helps provide some degree of damage control along with being able to be paired with a wide variety of cards but can also lead to consistency issues.

At her heart, Reeche is a Rainbow-Combo leader who has no true sub restrictions outside of having full Rainbow coverage. This is wonderful as it allows the player to cater their team to the dungeon at hand and simply becomes a matter of finding correct counters such as FUA , delays, shields, spikes, bind/awoken bind clears etc.

With that being said, there is strong emphasis on utilizing cards with the 7 Combo 45 awakening or Killers to bolster the overall effective damage. Being rainbow in nature does dilute your damage potential as one will have to match at least 4 colours. This prevents the ability to utilize bi/tri-elemental board changers so one may have to rely on a spike for particularly durable spawns.

By herself, Reeche provides 16x ATK, 25% damage reduction, and +2 seconds of orb movement time. This is quite powerful and the slightly higher multiplier can give them a slight edge over Yuki , but like Yuki, Reeche finds merit in pairing with other leaders.

This is to add both active skill diversity (rare one would need to Reeche actives) along with something other than movement time as +4 seconds is somewhat excessive. By pairing with Yuki, one does lose some ATK (very slight) and +2 seconds to gain access to 3x RCV which is amazingly powerful. Conversely, one can pair with Jhoira  for 7×6. Both options work well and does not increase the activation difficulty of Reeche as Yuki and Jhoira use less colours.

As a sub

The key to using Reeche as a sub is having full rainbow coverage, otherwise one would need to actually wait 30 turns to use her powerful active skill. This will mostly exclude her from mono-colour leaders, but can usually be incorporated into most teams.

GFE Tier list

This list reflects a card’s overall usage/viability in the current meta as well as moving forward. Cards are in no particular order within each tier.

Use these rankings as a starting point and not as absolute truth. Highly valued cards only have merit if you have a team to support them so they are somewhat subjective to your own Monster Box.

Regardless of card’s ranking, you should almost always keep the first copy of anything you roll

Ameno S -> A

Ameno is still one of the fastest and consistent Arena 3 clearing teams due to their ability to burst, incorporate VDP , and damage control through absorption spawns. Unfortunately, the game has shifted away from Arena 3 with the main end game focus revolving around Alt. Arena and Ameno is unable to keep up.

Despite this sounding negative, he is still a wonderful card to use for early-mid game content.

 Skuld S -> A

Skuld used to be a significantly more dominating card due to her double 7 Combo 45 and Follow Up Attack ; however, she is no longer as unique as she was before and is pretty much completely eclipsed by Cotton .

Skuld has a tri-elemental board changer that does not synergize with most top tier leaders and means one has to overcome the 9 turn cooldown if they wish to inherit something else. Furthermore, her awakenings are less potent overall as double Water Orb blue + orb tends to go to waste.

Godfest summary

Overall, this Godfest may be the worst since the REM Renewal for acquiring any 6/7* GFE. This is because there are only 17 cards featured (as opposed to the normal 21) and assuming the cards retain their standard 0.6/0.5% rates, the chances of acquiring a rare card is at an all time low.

Despite the allure of Reeche, he will be featured again in a future Godfest where there are hopefully stronger rates overall for the Godfest Exclusives.

There is speculation that we will be having a Super Godfest in the very near future but nothing is confirmed.

GFE Trading Post

After the excitement of the Yu Yu Hakusho Collab and now Magic: The Gathering Collab, many players may be in need of restocking back up on 6* GFE. Sadly, gunning purely for 6* GFE was best done during the previous Super Godfest where the chances of rolling a 6* GFE were significantly higher.

Regardless, the Trading Post/Monster Exchange System makes it highly undesirable to actually sell any 6* GFE as they can instead be traded in for a desirable/rare card.

Pantheon/5* GFE Highlights

With the presence of a Godfest, only 6/7* GFE are Highlighted. As a result, the 6* Pantheon cards now lose their Highlighted rates and drop down to around 0.64% chance to roll which makes them on par with 6* GFE.

This creates an interesting conundrum, during non-Godfest events, the chances of you rolling a 6* Pantheon card are significantly higher but you cannot acquire the GFE.

With this in mind, it is still best to roll in Godfest events as the 6* GFE tend to be stronger overall and you can at least still roll a 6* Pantheon card at the same time.

Rolling rates may change each Godfest so always double check the line up beforehand.

Featured Cards

The Rare Egg Machine will continuously rotate various Pantheon and former 5* GFE cards that will overlap with Godfests. The following is not an exhaustive list, but only highlighting the notable cards being featured alongside. regardless, always check the official line up in game for confirmation of what is available.

Kali

As a whole, the Celtic series have terrible weighted stats and both Revitheir evolutions share the same active so it is always advantageous to evolve them.

Brigid  is famous for her triple Machine Killer Machine Killer awakenings as she has 27x personal damage against Machine spawns; however, this is slightly offset by Machine Goemon  who is both farmable and has a superior active skill.

On the other hand, Aife  is a powerful triple 7 Combo 45 who can find usage on combo-based teams as she enjoys 8x personal damage against all spawns. Sadly, her base active situational along with her small array of other awakenings and low weighted stats.

Dagda  has 5 TPA TPA and has very little value overall outside of their niche potential to remove locked orbs and remove hazards along with 3 turns of awoken bind clearing.

Lugh  is the most universally helpful card of the series as he has a pure Damage Absorb Void (Fujin  style) active that enables players to trivialize spawns like Sopdet and Vishnu. The only downside is the lack of any secondary benefit which provides less flexibility overall.

Finally, Arianrhod  has the ability to change a spawn to Dark attribute along with 50% damage reduction for 2 turns. This can act as a pseudo damage burst for Light-based teams, but would mostly be used by the relatively non-existent Dark cheesing.

From the former 5-star GFE, Saria  has the most universal value due to her FUA  and tri-elemental board changer. The others have niche value at best and have mostly been powercreeped by most cards.

Collabs vs Godfests

Prior to the REM Renewal, it was quite risky to roll in Collabs as they often left players more disappointed than anything else. However, after seeing various Collab rolling rates, one has a pretty solid chance at acquiring a 7*+ card. Of course you will have to weigh the pros and cons along with examining the lowest rarity rolls from the Collab.

On the bright side, we are now able to utilize the Monster Exchange System to trade in for a desirable card. This was most prominent for acquiring Yusuke  as players did not actually have to roll in it and could simply exchange four 6* GFE/YYH Collab cards.

Sadly, Collabs are starting to shift towards the strongest cards in the game which is unfortunate for newer players as there is simply not enough Magic Stones to go around.

As a result, it has become more valuable for veteran player to roll in Collabs due to the fact that it offers cards you cannot otherwise replicate. On the other hand, newer players will tend to find more merit in regular Godfests as they need to round out their Monster Box before chasing more niche cards.

Conclusion

The upcoming Godfest mostly feels like a big trap overall due to the smallest inclusion of any GFE since the REM Renewal. Furthermore, there is strong speculation that NA will have a Super Godfest soon which will have the highest rolling rates and is a much better place to spend your Magic Stones.

While Reeche is new and exciting, he will most likely be available in the next several Godfests which would hopefully have better rates overall.

Let me know what you think about this event in the comments below along with how much you plan on rolling.

Happy Puzzling!

  1. May just pull one with stones for fun but DON’T SPEND YOUR STONES on this godfest until super godfest comes back.

  2. hm. I was originally intending to spend many stones here as I am a fairly new player, and Ney, Cotton, Fujin, etc all seem very tempting, however reading this is making me rethink. It seems like the three “Great Witch” cards: Zela, Reeche, and the non released in NA fire witch are debuting which leads me to believe the last great witch will be debuting in the next Godfest, then leading up to a super godfest with all three witches. However, I feel like I might luck out and roll a Reeche considering my Mom’s account rolled a Zela on her free roll .___. (damn the mom accounts always have all the luck huh). Either way, a Reeche seems like a good addition to my monster box as she actually does imitate Uruka–whom was one of my first REMs as she was my free heroine in November– in her water form being the AS and LS and all.

    1. I am not sure if all three witches will be featured in a hypothetical SGF, but just having a SGF meant having a 24% 6-star chance last time (as opposed to 9.8% chance for 6/7* this time)

      Pretty big difference XD

    1. There are so many pantheon cards that it makes it literally impossible to keep it up to date. I would appreciate it if he could rank the old 5 star GFE cards though, since around 50/50 of them are good, and the rest kinda suck

  3. Is there any chance you could make a post on keela descend? I’ve received the descend from clearing the one shot challenge, but have not began clearing the dungeon. I was able to beat the mythical and mythical plus for Borma Descend, but did was not successful in Annihilation, meaning that I did not get Borma. I want to get Keela in order to evolve the newest myr evolution.

  4. As my acc is still low on cards, I rolled a shit load of stones. Unfortunately still no Fujin active (A2 is still some gamble for me). But I got Saria for my Yog, Anubis and Isis (which is now my fastest active skill), Robin Hood (till now my best VDAoption if I am able to waste +), LKali, 3th Sakuya and a lot of rubbish.
Now I need a Tardis. I hope for him in the trade shop.

    1. I doubt Tardis will be in the Monster Exchange as he is a 6* and that event has 7*s

As for needing a fujin for a2, you can either use leaders with damage control along with using a friend who has one inherited

  5. Decided to roll 5 times, I got another Ameno, Ra (only my second one, so more buttoning is great), and the big one, I got my first ever Urd. totally worth it in my eyes

  6. I’m essentially still a newb in PaD, and have been saving up almost 100 stones for a godfest with Ideal in it, but decided to pull twice. I got Reech on my second pull and was able to ultimate evolve her right after. Extremely happy I was so lucky and look forward to being able to tackle more powerful content! I really hate the bosses that resurrect themselves, or have a damage cap per attack though!!!

      1. If aiming for Alt. Arena content, one would like to use God or Dragon Killers and the decision comes down to what your team has less of

In addition, SDR is quite valuable as they have a powerful active

  7. Like others said, I think it would be very helpful if you brought back the tier list for pantheon cards and former 5*GFE. There are a few that are good (Cthugha, Kushi, Anubis, Trailo), but newer players won’t know because they aren’t on bakadata tier lists etc.

  8. I pulled Jhoira in the MTG collab, friend pulled Reeche in this GF. I still don’t have a Fujin active, he didn’t have a Odindra active. Best friends forever! Subbing is a bitch because its hard to find worthwhile to find blue subs with appropriate color sub attributes so I’m having to fill in random colors and it just looks all over the place.

    1. For Yuki x Jhoira, I would simply use your strongest cards that cover all colours. You have to match 4/5 elements any way so going all Blue does not accomplish that much.

here is a sample clear of Alt Arena by me with Jhoira x Yuki (exact same team comp, just replace Yuki with Reechee)

  9. Any suggestions on a team for Reeche and Jhiora? I managed to pull her and a friend had Jhiora.

Aside from looking for 7c monsters and FUA (using Y’shtola), is there any other setup that’s considered to be the best?

    Current subs:
    B. Sonia
    R. Isis with Shiras roots
    Rajin with Navi
    Y’shtola with L.Kali

    1. I should mention I only have Ragnarok from your run above. I know without seeing what I have is not helpful so looking at what should a team be made off mainly.

Thanks again and happy puzzling 😀

      Like

      1. You can pseudo cater your team to the dungeon at hand, but as you already mentioned, 7c and FUA are somewhat standard. The Ragnarok Dragon has huge effective damage against the harder spawns in AA so that can also work

Just make sure you cover all your colours and mix in shields, delays, bursts, board changers as needed

        Like

    1. They are strong for sure and do become significantly stronger but not as meta defining as things like Yusuke/Edward
