Norse God Pantheon Analysis

Please refer to the Master List for directory to the other pantheons and their analysis.

Take a look at my Popular Leaders and their Full Sub List post for inspiration on team building ideas. If contemplating on purchasing a MP Dragon, please check out my Monster Point Dragon Purchasing Check-list Guide.

Keep in mind all of the following monsters qualify for Skill Inheritance so do not be too hasty in selling dupes.

The Norse Gods all have their awoken forms and grant 2x damage for their primary and sub elements along with forming powerful tank teams. They are mostly used on their respective mono-colour teams, but can sometimes play a role in rainbow teams due to enhancing two colours and providing double skill lock resist Skill Lock Resist awakenings. As such, they can also be used as assistants for Skill Inheritance for the dual enhancing active. Lastly, by boosting damage for two turns, you can use on the floor prior to the boss to ensure you sweep it while conserving your other actives.

Freyr is the first of the Norse God series and finally ditched the little pigs in favours of two magnificent swords and a majestic rainbow. Amusing art aside, Freyr is powerful card for augmenting your Firepower. His awakenings bring a healthy mix of offensive and defensive utility and the double SBR Skill Lock Resist eases team building. Unfortunately, there has been a diminished need for damage enhancers as most are now inherited or the teams themselves have large multipliers. In addition, the usage of Sanada 3101 further lowers the need for damage enhancement.

As a leader, Freyr pairs wonderfully with Raoh Raoh to form a powerful 1.5x HP / 14.625x ATK / 2.5x RCV team for Attacker and Devil types while prioritizing fire rows Fire Row. Tank teams are able to effectively stall on most floors and can unleash amazing burst damage through orb changers and Freyr’s active.

Through Skill Inheritance, Awoken Freyr is able to be used as an assistant for both fire and water teams.

Awoken Idunn&Idunna doubles both your fun and damage! They are perhaps Puzzle and Dragon’s most loved pair (although DQXQ Awoken DQXQ is a strong contender) but are somewhat on the decline due to powercreep.

I&I used to be able to form a powerful tank team, but that has been quickly blown out of the water and the overarching need to damage enhancement is lower by comparison. In addition, splitting your offensive awakenings between rows and TPA effectively wastes one of them as most teams only focus on a single matching pattern. Perhaps the best fit would be on a Reincarnated Lakshmi 3242 as she tends to mix and match rows and TPA throughout the dungeon.

Through Skill Inheritance, Awoken I&I is able to be used as an assistant for both water and dark teams.

Freyja is a viable mono wood option with 3 wood rows and the highly desired two SBR awakenings. Her leadership potential has been outdated for sometime now and instead will be used as an inherit or a sub on Awoken Liu Bei A Liu Bei teams. This is not always for the active skill, but instead for the 40% skill bind resistance as it can help you achieve full immunity without compromising your team composition as much a regular sub would.

Through Skill Inheritance, Awoken Freyja is able to be used as an assistant for both wood and dark teams.

Thor is sadly not the hunky beefcake you see flying around in cinemas and his art work may make you cringe upon closer inspection. Poor art and fashion choices aside, Thor is another viable damage enhancing option and has modest leadership potential.

When used as a leader, he pairs wonderfully with Saria Saria to form a 2x HP / 14.06x ATK / 2.5x RCV tank team that has an amazing sub pool to draw upon. For further reading and team building advice, please read my Full Guide. However, one thing you have to keep in mind is that this team is quite slow and not as powerful as it used to be when going through newer content.

Through Skill Inheritance, Awoken Thor is able to be used as an assistant for both water and light teams.

Loki is the last of the Norse Gods and has the highly desired Devil typing. This allows him to be fully utilized on Gremory Gremory, Awoken Pandora Awoken Pandora and  Awoken Lucifer Awoken Archdemon Lucifer teams as a powerful 2x damage enhancer.

However, most players are beginning to drop their Pandor and Lucifer teams and Gremory does not require a damage enhance. Thus, Loki is in an awkward place as a sub due to no ideal home.

Another interesting aspect of Awoken Loki is his potential as a rainbow sub due to his light and dark enhancement. Many rainbow teams are light heavy and the additional dark coverage and two skill bind resists ease team building constraints while still providing damage enhancement. However, you can simply use his active via Skill Inheritance.

Happy Puzzling!
