Thoughts on Monster Exchanging for Halloween Cotton, Elia, & Chakeol

Introduction

The Monster Exchange System is one of the greatest improvements to Puzzle and Dragons as it allows players to convert excess copies of Godfest Exclusives/Event cards for valuable Monsters. This process will consume 4-5 cards each time so it is not a decision that should be made lightly and should only be done when it will improve your current situation.

My general rule of thumb is to always keep at least 2 copies of any given card due to the fact that GungHo has been releasing numerous split evolutions and it is impossible to predict what will be released/buffed next. A great example of this is Valkyrie Ciel who went being an underwhelming card, to having two incredibly powerful evolutions where you would badly want each version.

In this article I will be outlining my thought process towards Monster Exchanging for Halloween Cotton, Elia, and Chakeol before it expires on Monday.

Halloween  Cotton Pros & Cons – November 2022

      • Loses little value in coop
  • 2 turns of Void Damage Void
    • Essential for TPA-oriented teams

    • Lowest possible exchange rate
  • Only functions well on TPA teams
    • All personal damage tied there
  • Trading without owning Daytona or Meredith  may not yield any result
    • They are falling out of the “meta”
      • Do not perform well in Super Gravity Dungeons

    • Unique combination of actives & awakenings

    • Requires you to use initial skill
      • May want something other than 1 Haste
  • Only functions well on TPA teams
    • All personal damage tied there
  • Trading without owning Daytona or Meredith  may not yield any result

  • 100% Jammer  & Blind Resist
  • Triple 10c
    • 125x personal damage
    • High ATK stat
    • Can easily Double Damage Cap on both attributes
  • Cross
    • Helps clear Sticky-Blinds
  • Incredible Prim sub
  • Valuable 3 turn base active
    • Fully clears Unmatchable
    • Can easily inherit an active skill of choice
  • Relatively easy evolution materials to swap between forms
    • Does not reset level 120/Latents
  • Maybe lower Effective HP multiplier?
    • Only risky if cannot Leader Swap in right away
  • Expensive to Monster Exchange for
    • Five 7* GFE
      • Most expensive possible

Halloween Chakeol Pros & Cons – November 2022

  • 100% Blind Resist
  • Triple 10c
    • 125x personal damage
    • High ATK stat
    • Can Double Damage Cap on both attributes
  • Tape Resist
  • Valuable active skill
    • 8 turns of 35% Damage Reduction
    • 8 turn CD
    • Low enough CD to inherit over
  • Can be run on Mono Dark or Rainbow successfully
  • 4 SB Skill Boost
  • Relatively easy evolution materials to swap between forms
    • Does not reset level 120/Latents
  • Expensive to Monster Exchange for
    • Five 7* GFE
      • Most expensive possible
Conclusion

The ability to Monster Exchange for Cotton, Elia, and Chakeol gives players the opportunity to acquire a valuable card that should catapult their Monster Box forward. This is because Monster Exchanging is a costly process but I do feel Chakeol is well worth it, especially if you own Prim as she has even more flexibilty/usage.
