Introduction
Alt. Arena (often times referred to as A4) is considered the hardest dungeon in the game and I finally got around to seriously attempting it. The dungeon features many of your “favourite” spawns which have added mechanics, boosted stats, as well as some brand new horrors.
Things such as 145,000 preemptives, damage voids, resolves, and hundreds of millions of health are common occurrences and it takes both luck and planning to succeed.
Video clear
I decided it was time to stop putting off A4 after rolling Edward and teamed up with either Virtual or Darksworn for both stamina efficacy and greater access to key actives (current solo record was death on floor 17).
Team composition
My team is far from optimal and simply have to make due with what is at my disposal. Do note that Sheen is preferred over Carat
as I have more Time Extends
than Skill Boosts
. I am only showing the Killer latents and the rests is filled by SDR
.

This composition is far from ideal so just use it as a starting point for planning out your runs. The Rathian inherit is in his Weapon to provide passive 60% poison orb resist. This is quite amazing as it can allow you to avoid some of the more nasty mechanics.
With that being said, I plan to modify our teams slightly moving forward:

Bringing longer delays can help stall out problematic spawns and the additional cooldown is a fair compromise overall. By changing my Nees inherit to Sasuke’s weapon assist, our teams can guarantee 100% poison resist. Just remember to leave both the Sasuke and Rathian Weapon assists at Skill Level 1 to help avoid overwriting the stronger base active.
Conclusion
Arena 4 is an exciting, albeit ridiculous dungeon that is heavily reliant on research, planning, puzzling skills, and luck. I plan to continuously play Alt. Arena along with streaming my adventures moving forward.
Let me know if you have attempted Arena 4 and how successful you were in the comments below.
Happy Puzzling!
Admire your courage! I tried few runs in coop but always died on the first 5 floors…. anyway, good luck and Look forward to your A4 clear on challenge mode too!

At the moment, challenge mode is mostly Kiri cheese and praying for favourable spawns which does not seem appealing to me
And don’t worry, in a year’s time we will probably have teams that can waltz through A4 XD

Grats for completing that dungeon. It really does look tough.
Like you I haven’t tried running A4 yet. I don’t think I can solo it for now, and I don’t play multiplayer. My 3p co-op still has the NEW sign 🙂

I have managed 1 solo clear but it involved a great deal luck with spawns (most notably Parvati) but coop is by far the way to go since there are so many lethal combinations and having only 6 actives is challenging.

Lol. I guess you haven’t been playing 3p dragon dungeon, mantastic. Alt arena doesn’t seem hard next to the trolls in that one. 15 turn preemptive bind to all subs, check. -5 SDR delay preemptive, check. Three awoken binds on different floors in one run, check. Multiple void floors, check. Casual 60k hits on a void floor, check. 600m to ohko a floor, check. Random midfloor perservenace nineguardia locked orbs into 900% lethal, check. Derpy 3p partners, double check. Lolololollolololoolololol.

I actually cleared it on Monday (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Z3UcNGhoLo) but it is a horrible dungeon overall even when playing with 2 skilled players
I cleared it twice and dont really plan on going back

Congrats on the run. Even with Edward powercreeping a touch, still impressive. I’m holding out for derpy x10000 dude myself.

My consistency in coop is improving as I get used to spawns, damage values etc and I now have 1 solo clear but so much can still go wrong XD

Ans I am glad to have cleared A2…Some times. And yesterday I did at A1 with Anublos. Against DKali. With 9 combos 😥

Any reason you don’t use a Rii inherit on a 7×6 with this team?

Don’t own Li and I am not sure if I owned Macha for that clear. And to be honest, Ed has enough damage overall so I don’t need the 7×6 along with loss of a potential active
