Might of the Guardians Godfest Review, Tier List, and Analysis

Godfest basics

When making the decision to roll or save your magic stones, you need to determine if the featured pantheons can benefit or complement your teams. Chasing for one specific monster is unwise as you will most likely be disappointed and should ideally have Godfests that overlap with many target cards. Remember all monsters that come out of the REM will qualify for Skill Inheritance so do not be too hasty when selling dupes. For a more detailed team building help, please refer to my Popular Leader’s and their Full Sub List Post which is in the process of being updated. Lastly, to find more information about a specific pantheon or monster, refer to my Master List to better refine your search. If you are considering to purchase any of the Monster Point cards, please refer to my updated Tier List for help and advice.

Introduction

The Might of the Guardians Godfest descends this Sunday and will only be featuring Godfest Exclusives (GFE) at 5x rates with no boosted pantheons. In addition, each roll will come out with +40 to a random stat. Non-featured GFE will not appear from the REM on those respective days.

Having a Godfest with no featured Pantheons and boosted rates for GFE may feel appealing, but it is my belief that the overall rates of rolling something meaningful are lowered. It is my understanding that cards have a certain roll rate and Godfest boost them. However, with less cards experiencing a boosted rate, you are more likely to roll 4-stars or other sad fodder.

One unfortunate aspect of this Godfest is that it does not feature any core Dark Athena 3193 subs. Dark Athena is not reliant on Godfest Exclusives outside of a few inherits and the fact that it is not a Midnight Gala further diminishes your chances.

If you wish to read a more thorough analysis of the Three Kingdoms 2 pantheon, please refer to my previous post HERE. A full review of Fujin and Raijin can be found HERE.

Ranking the cards – Pantheons & GFE

These rankings I assign cards are my own and take into consideration the card’s value as a leader, sub, inherit, and possibly any niche role they fulfill. In order to rank in the highest tier, the card has to excel in their respective role and cannot feasibly be replaced by anyone else. This can also be thought of as a Best in Slot card and tends to have applications on the top tier teams.

Despite my best to remain neutral, there is always the potential for bias and you need to be able to examine a card and determine if it can benefit your unique Monster Box and situation.

Legend guide

Symbols condense the time spent processing information and here is a brief explanation for each one I will use:

The best of the best. These cards compromise a best in slot role on top tier teams. They are largely irreplaceable and tend to offer something unique that cannot be easily replicated. This mostly exists to showcase the jump in power between the rest of the cards available.

All of the cards in this tier bring tremendous value to a variety of teams as either leaders, subs, or inherits that are challenging to mimic elsewhere. For example, Green Odin 3390 remains one of the strongest bind clears and only card that can remove 5 turns of awoken skill binds (outside of Odin Dragon 3264). It may not be paramount to your success, but is well worth owning overall.

This category indicates cards that have value, but are not as widely used/irreplaceable as the above tier(s). While they may make your life easier and still bring an additional layer of power to your team, they are far from necessary. With that being said, some of these cards could hold the key to your own teams as everyone has different tools to work with.

Cards in the question mark category tend to be those that are a luxury and are often not widely used for the average player. With that being said, they may bring niche value to your monster box or provide an additional option to use. A great example of this is Red Odin 3392 who is a premiere button farming option, but with the addition of Red Tamazo 3162, players at least have a “farmable” poison inherit along with the future implementation of Descend inherits.

x

This category indicates the bottom of the Puzzle and Dragons barrel. These cards tend to have almost minimal value as they simply do not fit in the current meta and are badly in need of a buff or new evolution to give them viability. With that being said, you should still keep them as they technically have the most potential for improvement (think Light Metatron Metatron)

This arrow indicates if a card has moved up since the last posting/tier list. The category/bracket they are placed in will be their new home and each arrow will show how many brackets they moved up (eg. 2 will indicate they climbed up two rankings).

This takes into consideration the gold star, blue square, and purple orb symbols.

This arrow indicates if a card has moved down since the last posting/tier list. The category they are placed in will be their new home and each arrow will show how many brackets they moved down (eg. 2 will indicate they were demoted down by two rankings).

This takes into consideration the gold star, blue square, and purple orb symbols.

A gold star indicates that these cards are relatively stronger than the other cards in that respective tier bracket and are trying to move up and may do so if a minor buff or new card/evo is released that can full capitalize on their strengths.

The blue square indicates that the card is in the middle of their respective tier bracket. This does not exist for download download download tier

A purple orb indicates that this card is relatively weaker than the others in their respective tier bracket and are on the cusp of being demoted.

Pantheon tier list

There are no featured Pantheons so I will be simply posting my tier list to better guide you for the rolls you will experience outside of the featured GFE.

GFE tier list

I feel that having a tier list that visually ranks the various GFE against each other when looking at their viability as a leader, sub, assist, or niche role is beneficial. Being able to cover numerous aspects will result in a higher placing along with their value in rolling dupes. This will attempt to rate these cards from a general box point of view and your individual situation will dictate just how important each card is.

Generally speaking, if a this is your first time acquiring a GFE, it will have at least some value and you should never sell a non-duplicate card.

This is an updated list compared to last time to reflect the new evolutions that have been announced/released in the most recent JP stream. Within each tier, the cards are in no particular order and is simply how they appear in my icons master list or after reshuffling.

Finally, this list takes into consideration all the cards in JP that we will receive.

Notable changes

Fenrir & Fenrir Viz

I do not feel that Puzzles and Jammers will ever catch on, but you cannot deny that Fenrir Fenrir (and Fenrir Viz Fenrir Viz) continue to gain viability due to their buffs that improve their ease of activation and consistency through new inheritance options.

Outside of the non-intuitive playstyle, the Jammer Meta is challenging to support as GungHo appears to be loathe to create more viable subs for them due to the fact that jammer producing actives cannot be used on any other team. As such, the pool you can draw from is limited, but with the update to Skill Inheritance including many farmable cards, there is some hope.

Through Skill Inheritance, you can run more ideal cards as bases and can worry a little less about having a constant supply of jammers.

Conclusion

The Might of the Guardians Godfest features 5x GFE with no featured Pantheons. I feel that this actually lowers the chances of rolling a featured card and while the 5x may feel appealing, you may have more disappointment than success. If purely chasing GFE, it is best to wait for the hopeful return of the 10-stone REM or have a 5x with featured Pantheons to help cut down on the 4-star clutter.

Let me know what you think about this Godfest, if you plan on rolling, and on which day.

Happy Puzzling!

  1. As always, thank you for your insight! Personally, I agree that this godfest is awkwardly placed as a flame gala with the impending D Athena release, let alone the fact that there are no featured pantheons… I recently made an alt, so I am happy to roll a few on there as it’s my first godfest, and 5x GFE with +40 isn’t shabby, but I’ll be withholding my stones on my main. Furthermore, with the Heroine REM and Players Choice Godfest coming relatively soon (we hope), I think stocking up is a good idea.

    1. Update:
10 rolls on my alt. First 5 rolls I got 4/5 silvers and a Shotel. Then rolled a Sitri, Phoenix Rider, Shotel, Thuban, and a 6 star Anima. Time to start a new alt! Q_Q

  2. I’ll be rolling this godfest simply to expand my range of fire att. monsters. I got a shiva dragon with the MP from last month because I got lucky with the heroine rem pulls and got both kuuvia and the other one. I am working on a reincarnated shiva but because I’m a more casual player it’s taking me some time. I thought about saving for DAthena but I’ve had no luck pulling hakus or any of her other subs. I don’t think Eldora (?) gets God type so I’m not sure she’d be worth getting for a Shivadra team. I could be wrong, I only glanced at her.

  3. I know I should probably save my stones … but I may go for a roll or two anyway. Thank you for a fantastic guide~

And just wondering, why are Paimon and Baldin in the 1 check tier on Day 1 and question mark tier on Day 2? Are their ratings relative to the other units available each day?

    Have a great day!

  4. Looks like day 1 for me. I know this isn’t the best godfest, but I think I’ll do two rolls. I don’t really have hope in rolling 3 Hakus, so simply building up other teams seems like a better choice. Great review as always.

  5. Give Vaj more love! He is an awesome farming lead when you need something from any normal dungeon or if you have an alt. Team him with another vaj and you can clear through KotG with a single match on each floor. Plan it right and you can get 36x with 8 combos for the final boss. Very nice but so is Ganesh and Isis.. 2 pennys worth.

    Great insight as always!

  6. Rolled 7 times between my two accounts.

    Alt snagged fujin!
Main got…third sumire dupe and angellious. Not a single fire gala card which is what I was rolling for primarily.

  7. crazy shit happened to me this weekend so i ended up rolling all my stones. lightning struck my house and did almost zero damage, so i thought i was pretty damn lucky. ended up rolling a dupe tsubaki, ilm, dupe sun quan, and gremory. alt rolled sumire, napoleon, and red riding hood. overall im pretty happy with the rolls.

  8. why is leader tsubaki preferred over double dragon killer tsubaki in the GFE chart?, seems like a poverty yomi or yomidragon to me…

  9. I did some rolls on day 2. As always, i was on the hunt for Fujin, Dark Kali, and Ryune with a few others like Gremory as a ‘that would be nice’.

I didnt get Fujin. I didnt get Dark Kali. But i DID get Ryune! So i am happy about that. Perfect timing for a Dark Kali team assist.

Other then that I got my 6th Verdandi, 5 Urd, 7th Light Kali, 3&4 Gadius and Markhab.

  10. Day 1: Zweihander, dupe Sitri, Basilisk, Shaitan
Day 2: Dino Rider, Strawberry Dragon, Shining Dragon Swordsman

I’m done wasting stones; I think the last PCGF had better odds.

PS: I watched your Fire Emblem Heroes video. I’m so glad I rerolled for Azura.
