GungHo Collab REM Review – December 2021

Introduction

The GungHo Collab returns once again to North America and features a gigantic rolling roster along with various buffs and new cards to acquire.

Due to the fact that this IP is owned by GungHo, we can safely assume it will return on a regular basis which means the concept of FOMO (fear of missing out) should be lower as this event is featured several times per year.

This is important because we know Draconic Orchestra, Player’s Choice Godfest (PCGF), and possibly the Christmas REM are all on the way soon.

In addition to this, I personally feel that the GungHo Collab is becoming more of an Orb Skin event as the strongest cards featured here are Orb Skins which can be directly purchased via IAP, but cannot be Monster Exchanged for.

This can feel frustrating as Monster Exchanging is often the best practice when approaching a weaker event or an event where you have already rolled heavily.

Due to continuing wrist pains, I have only done Pros & Cons for notable cards and skipped the others.

Bottom rarity quick summary

The bottom rarity should be the main motivation to roll in an event and the following chart shows all the 5-star Rankings. In total, they comprise 43.8% of the rolling pool.

While this is not as high as other events, none of the cards are truly desirable and I have yet to use any of them in my many years of playing.

Conclusion

The GungHo Collab has become an IAP-Orb Skin card affair as all of the best cards cannot be Monster Exchanged for. This is frustrating for players who have less disposable income as you either have to dig deep in an REM that has an underwhelming bottom rarity or pay nearly $30 CDN.

As a whole, the bottom rarity is terribly underwhelming along with comprising around 44% of the rolling pool. With this in mind, I would be hesitant to roll in this event as we know PCGF, Orchestra, and possibly Christmas REM will be coming in the near future.

WIth that being said, let me know what you think about this event in the comments down below.

Happy Puzzling!

  1. Thank you very much for this review. Kept me from rolling too many stones. I hate that PAD is more and more about buying units directly with real money.
