GungHo Collab REM Review – December 2021

Introduction

The GungHo Collab returns once again to North America and features a gigantic rolling roster along with various buffs and new cards to acquire.

Due to the fact that this IP is owned by GungHo, we can safely assume it will return on a regular basis which means the concept of FOMO (fear of missing out) should be lower as this event is featured several times per year.

This is important because we know Draconic Orchestra, Player’s Choice Godfest (PCGF), and possibly the Christmas REM are all on the way soon.

In addition to this, I personally feel that the GungHo Collab is becoming more of an Orb Skin event as the strongest cards featured here are Orb Skins which can be directly purchased via IAP, but cannot be Monster Exchanged for.

This can feel frustrating as Monster Exchanging is often the best practice when approaching a weaker event or an event where you have already rolled heavily.

Due to continuing wrist pains, I have only done Pros & Cons for notable cards and skipped the others.

Dark Row Self Coop Farming Limited Time Dungeons

Introduction

The past 6 months have given new value to both Coins and Super Snow Globe Dragons due to the Super Level Limit Breaking (level 110 -> 120) which is needed for utilizing the Double Damage Cap Latent.

With this in mind, Shura 3 / World of Carnage 3 is the single best place to acquire these materials. Sadly, this is an incredibly challenging dungeon and will most likely be out of reach for the majority of players.

While this may be distressing, we now have highly lucrative Limited Time Dungeons (timings found under LTD tab) that can be Swipe Farmed in coop. The two I have in mind are a Gathering of Snow Globes (for Super Snow Globes) and Revenge of the King Diamond Dragon (for Coins).

As such, I wish to share my set up and though process for overcoming these dungeons as quickly as possible.

Video commentary

Why Dark?

Both Gathering of Snow Globes and Revenge of the King Diamond Dragon feature Light as the strongest/most durable spawn and being Dark grants everyone 2x damage which can be thought of as a bonus <50% awakening. Furthermore, the availability of Chuan makes this easier along with a full Harem of Lucifers acting as incredibly viable (and accessible) subs. GungHo Collab Review and Analysis – November 2020

Introduction

The GungHo Collab returns to North America with a large list of buffs and new evolutions for existing cards along with several debuting cards.

As a whole, this event does have respectable rolling rates as over 50% of the cards are Diamonds with the majority having value at this point in time. On the other hand, the bottom rarity may not be as appealing for players with more developed Boxes and will appear nearly half the time.

With this in mind, it is perfectly acceptable to treat this as a Trade-only event as there are several top rarity cards that are wonderfully powerful along with Monster Exchanges requiring five 6-star GFE.

Regardless of this, this article will outline the pros and cons for each card to give players a better understanding of what to expect in the GungHo Collab Rare Egg Machine.

One thing to keep in mind is that many of the cards at the 7 and 6-star rarity are cycled out with each event so cards like Zeta will not be available.

Extravagant Easter Godfest Review, Tier List, and Analysis

I have added mouse over text for all of the icons for the tier lists. Let me know if you find any errors =)

Godfest basics

When making the decision to roll or save your magic stones, you need to determine if the featured pantheons can benefit or complement your teams. Chasing for one specific monster is unwise as you will most likely be disappointed and should ideally have Godfests that overlap with many target cards. Remember all monsters that come out of the REM will qualify for Skill Inheritance so do not be too hasty when selling dupes. For a more detailed team building help, please refer to my Popular Leader’s and their Full Sub List Post which is in the process of being updated. Lastly, to find more information about a specific pantheon or monster, refer to my Master List to better refine your search. If you are considering to purchase any of the Monster Point cards, please refer to my updated Tier List for help and advice.

Introduction

The Extravagant Easter Godfest descends this weekend and features 3x rates for featured Pantheons along with 4x for GFE. In addition, all rolls out of the Rare Egg Machine will come with +50 to a random stat. Finally, non-featured Godfest Exclusives will not appear from the Rare Egg Machine.

Following the trend of my previous Godfest reviews, I will include a tier list of both the pantheons, GFE, and a list that combines both for each day. Furthermore, I will include a fully updated Pantheon tier list to help showcase where all your cards fit in.

If you wish to read a more thorough analysis of the Three Kingdoms 2 pantheon, please refer to my previous post HERE. A full review of Fujin and Raijin can be found HERE.

Ranking the cards – Pantheons & GFE

As part of my new format for Godfest posts, I will try my best to rank the featured pantheon cards along with GFE and then combine the two to showcase how strong of a day it is to roll. These opinions are my own and take into consideration the card’s value as a leader, sub, inherit, and possibly any niche role they fulfill. In order to rank in the highest tier, the card has to excel in their respective role and cannot feasibly be replaced by anyone else. This can also be thought of as a Best in Slot card and tends to have applications on the top tier teams.

Despite my best to remain neutral, there is always the potential for bias and you need to be able to examine a card and determine if it can benefit your unique Monster Box. Continue reading Extravagant Easter Godfest Review, Tier List, and Analysis

Introduction

The Spice of Life Godfest promises to warm your heart with a dash of Nutmeg and Six-Star Godfest Exclusives. The weather outside may be frightful, but our rolls will be delightful. Day 1 features the iconic Egyptian 1 and the newer Mechanical 1 series while Day 2 offers the Arch Demons and new ultimately evolved Sengoku series. In addition, each day features a varying array of Godfest Exclusives.

Video commentary

Day 1:

Day 1 features the old, but iconic Egyptian 1 pantheon who has received several new evolutions through the PAD Cross collaboration. Unfortunately, these evolutions do not bring them back to their former glory days of power and simply offer a more viable alternative than their current Awoken Evolution. You can read more about the PAD Cross review HERE. On the other hand, Awoken Isis Isis is still one of the most desired cards while Awoken Ra Ra remains a push-button staple.

On the other hand, the Mechanical 1 series is relatively new and has also received powerful ultimate evolutions. These new evolutions attempt to categorize them as better subs or leaders, but 95% of the time, the evolution with the God Killer God Killer awakening will be superior unless you need the sub colour for a specific team. Sadly, the Mechanical 1 series are a bunch of heart breakers in heart-cross meta which does diminish their overall value.

The featured Godfest Exclusives may feel lackluster as they do not include Kaede Ult Kaede or Dark Kali Dark Kali who are both somewhat instrumental to some of the top tier teams.

Hel’s Kitchen Godfest: Japanese 1, Indian 2, Egyptian 1, and Archdemons Review and Analysis

Godfest basics

When making the decision to roll or save your magic stones, you need to determine if the featured pantheons can benefit or compliment your teams. Chasing for one specific monster is unwise as you will most likely be disappointed and should ideally have Godfests that overlap with many target cards. Introduction

The Hel’s Kitchen Godfest features some of our favourite cards with a healthy mixture of subs and leaders. Many of these cards are in the process of receiving new evolutions and have the potential to shake up the meta like Uuevo Sarasvati 3069. Many of these cards have transitioned into fantastic assistants for skill inheritance while others can find homes on many end game teams. I wish we had more information on how the Indian 2 pantheon will develop as they are currently in a weak spot but have the chance for a massive revival with new evolutions. In addition, GungHo is also introducing three new Godfest Exclusives which I will go into detail in a subsequent posting.

Day 1:

The Japanese 1 pantheon has some of the strongest awoken evolutions in the game for their respective teams. They may have lost traction on some end-game teams, but they provide valuable utility are great candidates for contributing their active via skill inheritance. The main drawback is a lack of usability prior to being awoken and will be neglected until acquiring the evolution materials.

On the other hand, the Indian 2 Pantheon has been relatively weak for a modest period of time. However, Uuevo Sarasvati 3069 is hopefully the first of many amazing evolutions that could revive the pantheon. Unfortunately, we have no more information as to what is in store and for now, the other 4 cards (outside of Vishnu) remain lackluster and in need of a buff.

Rolling in Day 1 will mostly be the Japanese 1 series and Sarasvati/Vishnu. The overall value is somewhat low and none of these cards come into power until late game so newer accounts may struggle to benefit from rolling them now.

Awoken Shiva is one of the hottest leads in Puzzle and Dragons as he forms a powerful 20.25x ATK / 2.25x RCV team that is two prong  TPA reliant. Furthermore, his sub pool has no type restrictions other than they must have the fire attribute. This allows for great flexibility with team building along with compensating for fire’s normally low RCV. I enjoy Awoken Shiva’s playstyle as he combines speed and power and can clear high level content due to amazing burst potential. If you wish to read about how to properly construct a Shiva team, please refer to my Team Building Guide.

Unfortunately, Awoken Shiva does falter in the highest level content as his active is relatively weak and his damage output is heavily gated by active usage and may run out of steam mid dungeon. However, do not let this discourage you as he is capable of clearing Challenge 9s and some 10s with the right team and investment. You will also be able to find a huge number of friends due to his popularity.

Lastly, his sub potential is quite low as there are better options for a fire orb enhancer.

Awoken Lakshmi is an often overlooked water powerhouse as she forms an incredible 39x ATK / 2.25x RCV team that is focuses around water rows Water Row . For comparison sake, most other row leaders range from 10.25-25x ATK. Granted you have to match 6 connected heart orbs to do so (in any shape), but the augmented recovery and built in bind recovery Bind Clear awakening from the your leaders help alleviate team building stress. Your subs ideally need to generate both heart and water orbs and some noteworthy ones include, but are not limited to, Andromeda Bankai Andro, Ryune Ryune, Sumire Sumire, and Gabriel Gabriel.

With a built in heal and heart orb generating active, you can stall for actives with ease and the naturally high base HP on water type monsters allows you to survive attacks that most other non-HP multiplied teams could not. Furthermore, you are able to control your damage output by choosing how many heart orbs to match. This is becoming more vital with the advent of bosses with specific damage absorption shields. Lastly, her awakenings are all over the place and perhaps when her design phase they gave up and just gave her a little of everything.

Lakshmi’s main drawbacks are a difficulty finding friends along with almost no sub potential herself.

Awoken Parvati is another 39x ATK / 2.25x RCV leader who is also reliant on heart orb matching for damage. She is essentially the wood version of Lakshmi Awoken Lakshimi , but focuses on Two Prong Attacks TPA to deal lethal damage. This is fantastic as most of the strongest wood subs are TPA oriented and many have 3 of those awakenings. Furthermore, the bind immunity eases team building as you may not need to bring a bind clearing sub. Unfortunately, she lacks a recover bind Bind Clear awakening awakening to help the rest of her team. In addition, with her scaling multiplier, you can control your damage and also elect to not trigger two prong attacks to handle floors with specific damage absorptions.

There is not too much else to say for Parvati as she is a powerful lead who is capable of clearing Arena 1. Her main drawback is her lack of popularity as her leader skill requires some thinking to proc and many people are opting for more mindless/higher output leads.

On the bright side, her two tigers are both cute and majestic.

It is strange how Indra is still lacking an Awoken Evolution as the fire, water, and wood monsters in his pantheon received theirs ages ago. This does put a damper on his viability as he does not have the same power potential as other monsters. Regardless, his 75% damage reduction shield is amazing as you can essentially survive any attack for 3 turns. Granted the cooldown is very long, but will save you during critical phases.

One of his evolutions provides 2 light rows Light Row and allows Indra to participate on some of the newer teams if you need the shielding. His other evolution,  Indra , has god typing which has made him nearly a staple sub on Ra Dragon Ra Dragon teams due to his 2 skill lock resist Skill Lock Resist awakenings. I used to use Indra for that feature when my various teams were less developed as it allowed me to achieve 100% immunity with ease. Lastly, many rainbow teams will use him for the shield as they lack an HP modifier.

Overall, Indra is a vital sub on certain teams, but does not have too many uses for the average player. Perhaps with his Awoken evolution will we have something more meaningful.

Vritra

Vritra appears to have amazing awakenings and upon first glance, but his active is far too weak to be utilized. Dark has numerous options for enhancing their damage via Loki Awoken Loki , Neph Nephthys , and Oku Oku who all provide more burst potential/utility as their secondary effect does not deal small damage. As such, Vritra and his amazing art is regulated to push button teams who wish to farm a dungeon quickly by pressing an active to sweep a floor. Although with the awakenings buff, his other evolution posses the God Killer God Killer awakening and may have a bit more uses on non-button teams.

The HP reset is usually a bad thing, but on teams such as Dark Metatron dtron, it can be a lifesaver if you are unexpectedly healed too much.

Hopefully with an Awoken evolution Vritra will become more useful than a button team sub.

Day 1:

Day one is a large disappointment as the Indian 2 pantheon is currently very lackluster as none of them have awoken evolutions and aside from Vishnu Vishnu, is terribly weak and in need of a revamp or buff. Indian 1 has some strong leaders with Awoken Shiva Shiva, Lakshmi Awoken Lakshimi, and Parvati Awoken Parv but all have nearly no sub potential. Indra Indra would be the most widely used sub from the pantheon, but is only situationally useful and should ideally have his awoken evolution made by now. Even if chasing a specific card, I would strongly advise you to not roll this day.
