GungHo Collab REM Review Review and Analysis – April 2021

Introduction

The GungHo Collab returns to North America once again but this time at a much later date relative to the JP server. This has significant Powercreep consequences as this event took around 4 months to arrive instead of the normal 2. I want to stress that the 2 month window for JP content is a guesstimate as nothing is guaranteed but being delayed by 2 additional months makes many of these cards feel “dead on arrival.”

To make make matter worse, the Monster Hunter Collab has a simultaneous release with JP which means we got significantly stronger cards much earlier than expected. This in turn makes many of the GungHo cards laughable by comparison.

As such, I feel that this is a relatively lackluster/underwhelming event as there almost no value at the bottom rarity along with the 6 and 7-stars often being inferior to other available options. As such, this can be an easy event to skip from a rolling point of view and maybe using the Monster Exchange to acquire a key card for your Monster Box.

Finally, I want to mention that this event is home to three cards who have an 18 turn Leader Swap ability. Owning one of these cards will be valuable for late game players as it does open up Leader Swapping strategies for WoC2 / Rank EXP abuse. As such, the value of these cards heavily hinges on your current game progression and what other Leader Swap options are available. For players who cannot take advantage of Leader Swapping, these will be relatively average cards.

GungHo Collab Review and Analysis – November 2020

Introduction

The GungHo Collab returns to North America with a large list of buffs and new evolutions for existing cards along with several debuting cards.

As a whole, this event does have respectable rolling rates as over 50% of the cards are Diamonds with the majority having value at this point in time. On the other hand, the bottom rarity may not be as appealing for players with more developed Boxes and will appear nearly half the time.

With this in mind, it is perfectly acceptable to treat this as a Trade-only event as there are several top rarity cards that are wonderfully powerful along with Monster Exchanges requiring five 6-star GFE.

Regardless of this, this article will outline the pros and cons for each card to give players a better understanding of what to expect in the GungHo Collab Rare Egg Machine.

One thing to keep in mind is that many of the cards at the 7 and 6-star rarity are cycled out with each event so cards like Zeta will not be available.

Chrono Ma:Gia New Player Introduction Guide

This is my first time creating content for Chrono Ma:Gia and may continue to do so if this proves successful

Introduction

Chrono Ma:Gia is the newest game to be released by GungHo and is a digital card game. In essence, the game revolves around carefully planning each turn to outmaneuver your opponent through Creatures, Spells, and Magia Skills.

While GungHo has released an official Beginner’s Guide, I feel it is still valuable to present my own perspective along with tips and tricks not covered already.

As a fair warning, Chrono Ma:Gia was only released on April 9, 2018 so the meta is still fluid and things may change quickly over time. Furthermore, I am by no means an expert in this genre but still have a modest amount of experience playing Hearthstone at a somewhat competitive level years ago. As such, this article will be placing most of the focus on early game management and how to avoid newbie pitfalls and get the most out of your game experience.

One distinct advantage of staring Chrono Ma:Gia now is being right on the cusp of Powercreep since everything is new. Furthermore, the learning curve will be gentler since less cards have been released compared to what will be available in a year’s time. Finally, there are currently very generous Login Bonuses during the first week and should be taken advantage of.

Community resources

All gaming communities have valuable player-created resources and Chrono Ma:Gia is no exception. I strongly encourage you to join either the Community Discord Server as well as checking out their Reddit Page.

Rerolling

Rerolling is a common term within most mobile games and is the process of restarting your game until you acquire a powerful starting Creature.

For Chrono Ma:Gia, rerolling means you complete the tutorial, open as many packs as possible, then clearing data/deleting the game and starting again until you acquire something “good.”

However, from my experience, the need to min/max your Rerolling is partially tied to your patience level along with the rarest cards being only marginally better overall. However, if your starting Pack of Cards yields 5 Commons, I would reroll. Continue reading Chrono Ma:Gia New Player Introduction Guide

Star Justice Cheese Team

Introduction

Justice, Demands Retribution! Well maybe Uther said it better, regardless, Star Justice Descended goes live tonight in Tandem with the official GungHo stream. To make this stream extra exciting, they have organized a special coop challenge that pits players against each other for Fantastic rewards.

A tale of Antonio and Mantastic

Tonight, I had the pleasure of being paired with the infamous Antonio and together, we managed to devise a strategy to tackle this challenging dungeon with minimal stress and skill. We do need to take a little gamble of only 80% skill bind resistance as neither of our teams are very invested or well developed. Antonio is severely lacking in skill ups and we had to use careful planning to ensure all of our actives would be ready in time. I still wish he dressed up as Lifeguard Odin.

Team roster

Antonio
A Liu Bei Cerebrus Rider Light Zhuge Liang Raphael Ult Zeus Dios

Mantastic
A Liu Bei Hera-Is Bankai Yamato Ult Zeus Dios Ult Zeus Dios

Many of the subs were chosen for their skill boosts to help Antonio have his actives ready in time and would otherwise not be included. Key components to successfully run Star Justice include:

  • 25%+ Gravity
  • Cerebrus Rider to kill Zeal on floor 3
  • Raphael (or Thanatos Thanatos) to survive the 1% execution on the final floor
Strategy

Below is a floor-by-floor breakdown of our active and turn usage to successfully clear Star Justice. We had to pray for the 80% SBR to work. Also, Antonio creates the room to allow us an extra turn.
