The New Year’s REM returns to North America with several new cards and buffs to existing monsters in the hopes of enticing players to spend their Magic Stones here.
Historically speaking, Seasonals such as New Year’s or Christmas are notoriously poor quality machines as they often contain cards from many, many years ago. Furthermore, these ancient cards are often the lower rarity who rarely receive meaningful buffs while also comprising the majority of the rolling pool.
All of this holds true today for the current New Year’s event but I feel that the amount of valuable cards has increased, albeit in the higher rarities. This in turn creates a conundrum: risk rolling in hopes of the top prizes as cannot be Monster Exchanged for, or ignore the 7-stars and simply Exchange or IAP Bundle for the cards you desire.
For the most part, I would go with the Monster Exchange route and pray the free rolls yield something meaningful as the bottom rarity is truly disastrous.
