Which GFE to Choose for your Weekly Medal Exchange – Fagan Rai & Zaerog Core

Introduction

GHNA continues the PAD Appreciation Celebration by giving all players 4 special Medals that can be Monster Exchanged for various 7-star GFE. This is incredibly exciting as 7-star GFE are arguably the most valuable cards in the game as they can be used as leaders, subs, inherits, or Trade Fodder.

Furthermore, GH tends to give these cards the most love with regular buffs and new evolutions that can potentially push them back into the meta spotlight. As such, it is in your best interest to choose the card that is best for you but to also remember that these Medals do not expire.

This means you should not Monster Exchange until you know you have a dedicated use for that respective card as it feels pretty terrible making a hasty trade only to realize you need a different card badly a few weeks down the road.

As a general rule, it is almost always best to acquire a card you have never owned before as it may open up new possibilities as each card is unique.

With this in mind, I will be going over all the notable Medal options each week when they are released.

Fagan Rai

At this point in time, I personally prefer Fagan Rai over Zaerog Core due to Core lacking truly meaningful new evolutions whereas Rai does while also having his classic Weapon from several years ago.

Pros
Cons
  • SB Skill Boost
  • Cloud
  • 2 Team HP
  • Longer CD to prevent overcharging
  • Still relevant several years later
  • Active is underwhelming

Pros
Cons
  • High personal damage
  • Tape Resist
  • 2 turn CD
    • Easy to inherit over
    • Makes 4 Dark orbs
    • No SBR Skill Lock Resist
    • 2 SB Skill Boost
    • Evolution locked behind rare invade

Pros
Cons
  • 4 SB Skill Boost
  • Immense personal damage
    • (45)
  • Powerful LS multipliers
    • Relies on Colour Crosses
    • No SBR Skill Lock Resist unless via SA
    • Evolution locked behind rare invade
    • LS can feel clunky on 6×5
      • Needs 4 colours & Crosses
    • Probably not applicable for the average player

Both new Weapons grant 80% total Resists and 2 Team HP . If you can leverage all of the awakenings it can be meaningful but this does require 2 Rare invades to evolve which may be challenging (took me 3 weeks/35ish tries just to get 1 invade).

Zaerog Core

I personally feel Zaerog Core lacks any deal place to be used along with his easier to pursue Weapon not providing enough, despite Daytona existing due to no other helpful awakenings.

Pros
Cons
  • 1 turn CD
    • Easier to inherit over
  • Reasonable damage output when <50% HP
    • 45 45 ()
    • 1 SB Skill Boost unless losing VDP SA
    • No where to truly use on at this point in time

Pros
Cons
  • 2 TPA TPA
    • Does nothing but provide TPA
      • Daytona needs SBR Skill Lock Resist & HP
      • Other TPA options exist

Pros
Cons
  • 2 turn Void Damage Void
    • 8 turn CD
      • Exceptionally short
  • High personal damage w 4 colours
  • Super Jammer Resist
  • Mixes Rainbow with mono colour awakenings
    • Lacks specialization
  • 10 turns No Skyfall
    • Skyfalls are good in most cases
  • Does not fit in any particular team
  • Requires Rare invade to evo

Pros
Cons
  • 2 turn Void Damage Void
    • 8 turn CD
      • Exceptionally short
  • Reasonable awakenings
  • 10 turns No Skyfall
    • Skyfalls are good in most cases
  • Situational overall
  • Requires Rare invade twice to evo

Pros
Cons
  • Huge ATK stat
    • High personal damage w 3 colours
  • Potential for 1 turn Damage Absorb Void
    • Must be below half HP
  • Super Poison Resist
  • Damage Absorb is conditional on <50% HP
    • 1 turn is often not enough nowadays
  • Hard to find a place to use effectively

Pros
Cons
  • Potential for 1 turn Damage Absorb Void
    • Must be below half HP
  • Reasonable awakenings
  • Damage Absorb is conditional on <50% HP
    • 1 turn is often not enough nowadays
  • Hard to find a place to use effectively
  • Situational overall
  • Requires Rare invade twice to evo

Conclusion

Free Monster Exchange Medals for 7-star GFE is tremendously exciting as it gives all players the opportunity to acquire these rare and powerful cards.

Once again, I wish to stress that these Medals to not expire once in your Monster Box and can be Exchanged at any time in the future. As such, take your time to consider your options as to what will benefit your Monster Box the most.

If you have contemplated your options and nothing stands out as immediately valuable, wait, there is no time limit to Exchange these Medals.

Regardless of all this, let me know who you plan on Exchanging for in the comments down below.

Happy Puzzling!
