Yamatsumi – Farmable Monster Analysis

We have not had a powerful or useful farmable monster since Zaerog Infinity Z8 . Some may argue that Volsung Volsung or Hel Awoken Hel are powerful, but are not special enough to warrant heavy investment. Volsung suffers from being inaccessible due to the challenging descend and an active is not novel nor unique (regardless of how strong it may be). Awoken Hel is capable of clearing high level content due to a unique 49x multiplier, but the playstyle may be too foreign for most players and has a more restrictive sub pool. Furthermore, her viability as a sub is almost non-existent except for over riding poison skyfalls (or funky heart orb generator).

However, the latest descend boss, Yamatsumi Yamatsumi , has power and uses beyond simply selling for 10 Monster Points. The key aspect in making a useful farmable monster is a novel active that has a synergetic role in popular teams. Continue reading Yamatsumi – Farmable Monster Analysis

Volsung Descended Clear!

Volsung Descended went live this afternoon and I was eager to push my puzzling skills to their limit. The dungeon has a similar layout to Zaerog Infinity in that the first few floors are freebies that give you a chance to level up your monsters a bit. However, Volsung is significantly harder and I place it on par with Scarlet Descended as the final boss is much more difficult to deal with unless you bring a delay or poison as he lacks a status shield. Volsung Analysis

Friday Afternoon will mark the debut of Sea Dragon King – Legend Plus that awards the coveted boss drop of Giant Arched Sea Dragon King, Volsung Volsung . The dungeon will be rogue style in nature in that all your monsters will start at level 1 and progressively level up as you clear each floor. The amount of experience and thus ending level of your monsters will be determined by their team cost; the lower the cost, the higher their ending level will be. This automatically awards teams that have heavy plus egg investment because the pluses will not be affected reduced monster levels and instead provide their full benefit. But dungeon aside (will cover in a subsequent post when I actually get to play it), I want to take this opportunity in exploring the power Volsung offers along with his viability and whether he is worth the investment.
