Xiu Min Ranking Dungeon Score Tracking

What is this?

I plan to pin the current daily NA Ranking Dungeon chart compiled by pandaa for the duration of the Ranking Tournament. Due to the fact that I am usually not awake at Midnight, it may take some time for the new current day to be added.

Generally speaking, NA tends to start significantly higher than JP on non-fixed teams as we are able to see the top strategies right away. This leads to much higher scores early on, but also a faster plateau as players hit their maximum potential. With that being said, NA should be able to score higher on non-fixed teams due to the fact that we have more time to prepare and have the winning strategies already made.

On the other hand, being 2-3 months behind JP provides little benefit for Fixed Teams as the strategy is to usually just puzzle your way through.

Use these charts as a rough guideline for your own scores and possible rewards.

Current day NA cutoff for Crown: 131,102
JP Crown: 131,152

Current day NA cutoff for Magic Stone & Xiu Min: 101,566
JP Xiu Min and Magic Stone: 95,022

Corresponding article detailing teams and strategies are coming soon.

Happy Puzzling!

Which Monster Point Card to Buy – November 2017

Introduction

The Monster Point currency system was designed to help alleviate the frustration of rolling duplicate cards as they could then be sold off for a varying amount of Monster Points. As a result, players could save up over time along with farming Rogue dungeons to purchase a powerful monster.

However, each purchase requires a sizable amount of Monster Points and you do not wish to have your card become outdated via Powercreep.

This article will take a look at all the current Monster Point cards along with how they fit in the meta and their potency moving forward.

JP server

The JP server in Puzzle and Dragons is approximately 2-3 months ahead of NA/EU in terms of released content. Thus, we are able to “see the future” by following the news stream from JP. As a result, we are able to better position ourselves in terms of future purchase decisions and evolution material farming.

With this in mind, I will be using any knowledge currently available in JP for the purpose of this article and my recommendations.

What is in the meta now

Presently speaking, the current PAD meta revolves around two distinct playstyles: combos/7×6 and bi-combo teams. Both these styles are able to achieve amazing levels of damage while being able to capitalize on the most powerful awakenings. Continue reading Which Monster Point Card to Buy – November 2017

Monster Point Cards Tier List – A Revised Look and Overview

Just because you have 300,000 MP, it does not mean you MUST buy a card now. Plan it out and wait if lacking any ideal option

Introduction

As part of the large event extravaganza in NA and EU, we will be receiving 390,000 Monster Points over the next few months. For many players, this will their first time passing the 300,000 mark which is required to purchase a card and many will be eager to take the plunge. Conversely, this additional 390,000 may put some players dangerously close to the cap of 999,999 (why is there a cap, I do not understand) and may preemptively force some player’s hands. However, just note that the MP is stored in your mailbox so you don’t actually need to open and cap.

As such, this article will review all the MP cards available (excluding seasonals) to help you better understand their value, if your box can support them, and how they rank against each other.

Ranking the MP cards

It is important to understand how the MP cards stack up against each other as it is my belief that these cards should dramatically improve your monster box and help you progress into the next tier of content.

The following chart ranks the MP cards against each other and takes into consideration their highest evolution and new buffs announced with the JP 5 year stream. I am also working under the presumption you have access to the ideal or as close to the ideal team as possible. Just because the card has strong potential, you need the subs to back them up as they will flop otherwise. The MP cards should also help push you further into end game content and should differ from the type of team you currently have. I will go into more detail further down explaining their uses and value.

To reiterate, this list may be subjective and you should make sure you actually have the cards to support their purchase.

Xiu Min Buffs – Discussion by Kaz272

Guest article

This article was composed by one of my long term readers and Twitch Mod as both a means to share his love for Xiu Min along with helping ease the workload for content creation. I personally have no experience playing Xiu Min and having a perspective from someone who regularly plays the team is invaluable.

I have left the article unedited to better preserve their voice and thoughts. Kaz will also try his best to reply to comments and questions.

Introduction

With the release of the Xiu Min Xiu Min, North American players now have a total of ten, 300,000 Monster Point cards to choose from. The first six are relatively well-known and how they fit in the current meta. However, The Four Gentlemen are still relatively new and many players are wondering who is best the best to purchase. Xiu Min – 300k MP Monster Review and Analysis

Introduction

Xiu Min is the final card of the Four Gentlemen series (300,000 MP monster) and is another glass-cannon oriented leader. They are capable of achieving 110.25x ATK on a light row Light Row based team and should obliterate essentially any obstacle foolish enough to stand in your way. Xiu Min has a reasonable active skill and their 10-turn cooldown makes them less appealing as a base for Skill Inheritance. Thankfully, you do not have to use numerous Xiu Min’s to form an effective team which is a relief after Xiang Mei Xiang Mei. However, with the advent of numerous other glass-cannon leaders and the future released heart-cross cards, how viable is Xiu Min?

Xiu Min Scaling Multiplier

Light combo 4x 9x 16x 25x 36x 49x
Light combos 9x 20.25x 36x 56.25x 81x 110.25x

The above chart shows how your multiplier works with the various possible combinations; however, the multiplier is not as straightforward as you may think as you are better off making a connected 10 light orbs instead of a 3 + 7 match. At 11 orbs, it is more favourable to make a 3 + 8 match as that will yield a higher multiplier:

Xiu Min Multiplier Comparison
# Light on board 8 9 10 11 12 13+
Light combo 25x 36x 49x 49x 49x 49x
Light combos 9x 20.25x 36x 56.25x  81x 110.25x

Sample gameplay

Xiu Min lacks dual typing and does not have a sub attribute. This seems bizarre for a 300k MP Monster; however, his leadership power brings fourth an impressive amount of burst damage when forming light rows. Below is a sample video of a solo Arena 1 to give you an idea of his capabilities and playstyle:
