Monster Exchange cards

Keep in tune with previous Collabs, The Shaman King event will feature two cards that can be acquired by farming in the respective event dungeon. This farming will yield Bronze, Silver, and Gold event tokens which can eventually exchanged for the Rainbow variety.

Upon acquiring 3 Rainbow Event tokens, players can one-time exchange for the featured card. Continue reading Shaman King Collab Monster Exchange & Monster Point Card Reviews

To Kuroyuri, or not to Kuroyuri

Introduction

The GungHo Collab returns to North America on Wednesday, January 16th and comes while the REM portion is reasonable overall, being able to purchase Kuroyuri  for 750,000 Monster Points is exciting.

At this point in time, there are not too many things to spend Monster Points on and while the 750,000 price tag is quite steep, Kuroyuri is a powerful card to own. Unfortunately, players require two of her to fully capitalize on her unique abilities.

This article will explain how Kuroyuri works and why can be beneficial to purchase for your Monster Box for the limited duration of the GungHo Collab event.

Monster Point Spending Advice – January 2019 + Dark Meimei Commentary

Introduction

The New Year kicks off with a bang through the generosity of GungHo North America in both Magic Stones, new Challenge dungeons, and Monster Points (MP). In fact, just logging in once during the month of January will give all players 700,000 Monster Points through their in-game mail.

For newer players, this will be the most they have ever had and the temptation to spend them immediately will be great. With that being said, I want to caution players from making ill-informed decisions and wasting this amazing gift.

This article will explain how the Monster Point system works, basic do’s and don’ts, a review of the new Dark Meimei , and an overview of the best MP cards to purchase at this point in time

Amen, Mut, & Khonsu Review and Analysis – New 750,000 MP Cards

Introduction

Three new and somewhat exciting cards have been added into the Monster Point shop: Amen , Mut , and Khonsu . All three of them will cost 750,000 Monster Points and will be a sizable investment for the average player. As such, it is wise to make sure you can actually benefit from them and avoid buyer’s remorse. However, all 3 will have a unique Weapon Assist evolution which enables them to contribute awakenings if assisted.

With that being said, GungHo NA will be announcing the winner of the MP Shop Survey will be revealed on Friday, April 20th during their official Twitch stream. The winner will cost 1,000,000 Monster Points and will only be available for a limited time. Thus, it may be best to wait until you see what the winner is as it may influence your purchasing decision.

This article will summarize Amen, Mut, and Khonsu’s viability and how you can make the most out of their presence.

750,000 MP

750,000 Monster Points is still a large amount despite the fact that we have been given large amounts of the past year. As such, many players will only be able to purchase a single card and you wish to gain as much value from this card as possible.

Dark Athena Releasing for 750k MP

Introduction

In the latest wave of PAD news coming out of JP, Dark Athena 3193 will be available from the MP shop for 750,000 Monster Points. This raises numerous questions ranging from “why such a high cost?” to “is she really that strong?” along with “will North America actually get her?” In this article, I will do my best to examine how Dark Athena could change the landscape of Puzzle and Dragons along with possible justifications for her extreme cost compared to previous MP cards.

Impressions

Dark Athena may look lackluster from a purely multiplier perspective; however, she is actually one of the strongest cards/leaders in the game. There are many factors that go into consideration when trying to determine what makes a strong leader, and Dark Athena covers almost all of them.

Dark Athena has one of the most unconditional leader skills which dramatically raises her consistency and speed when playing through both challenging and easy content. Simply having to match a single water and dark combo for 49x is trivial compared to the shenanigans other leads require. This ease of activation enables you to flood the board with dark orbs in order to better take advantage of Dark Athena’s three TPA TPA awakenings. Continue reading Dark Athena Releasing for 750k MP

Duplicate Monsters: To Keep or not to Keep. That is the Question

Introduction

That is one of the few verses from Shakespeare that I have retained from my High School days so that hopefully appeases my former English teachers. Regardless, which duplicate monster to keep or sell is quickly becoming a topic of interest, especially after the most recent 5x GFE event. Years ago, most duplicate monsters had very little meaning. However, with the introduction of Skill Inheritance and the Monster Point system, those extra Urd’s are starting to have more value.

If you have not already, I strongly encourage you to read my various other articles that I will be making reference to throughout this discussion:

Duplicate checklist

It can be challenging to go through a card-by-card basis of what to sell or keep and is somewhat redundant due to Reddit already covering that. As such, I wish to go through my own thought process when determining if I should keep these extra duplicate monsters. Your situation will differ from mine as well as Reddit so still use your own judgement. Continue reading Duplicate Monsters: To Keep or not to Keep. That is the Question

55 Million Downloads 5x GFE Review and Analysis

I will continue to update this page as I write the additional monster reviews and have been quite busy with all the newly released content and real life issues. I posted this well knowing I am missing some monsters as I want to give you some information now or at least the handy reference chart for what rolls out on each day. Your patience is appreciated!

Godfest basics

When making the decision to roll or save your magic stones, you need to determine if the featured pantheons can benefit or compliment your teams. Chasing for one specific monster is unwise as you will most likely be disappointed and should ideally have Godfests that overlap with many target cards. Remember all monsters that come out of the REM will qualify for Skill Inheritance so do not be too hasty when selling dupes. For a more detailed team building help, please refer to my full list Popular Leader’s and their Full Sub List Post. If you are wondering which Four Gentlemen 300k card you should purchase, please read my Comparison Post.  Lastly, to find more information about a specific pantheon or monster, refer to my Master List to better refine your search.

Introduction

The 55 Million Downloads Godfest makes a special occasion for both GungHo and players. There are not many games that can claim to have as widespread of a following as Puzzle and Dragons and the players are being wonderfully rewarded with a NA first of 5x Godfest Exclusives. A typical Godfest has these hard to obtain cards at a 3x rate and these increased values should help players secure some of their favourite cards. In the distant past, we were fortunate enough to have 4x GFE that was paired alongside various pantheons; however, during the 55 Million Godfest, there will be no accompanying pantheon alongside and we will only have the Gala of Tides. It is uncertain how this will influence the roll rates and GungHo will never disclose this information so we are still at the mercy of RNGesus.

When deciding to roll for either day 1 or 2, you have to take a look at the featured GFE as there is some overlap and the decision ultimately lies in your unique box and situation. North America may never receive the 10-stone GFE REM and if you are like me, and have been hoarding stones for months, it may be time to shake the Golden Dragon’s arm as this will probably be the best opportunity to acquire Godfest Exclusives and Monster Points. Sitting on hundreds of Magic Stones can put a damper on your progression and there is a certain degree of opportunity cost and benefiting from cards before powercreep reduces their value. I will be rolling and recording my conquest with as few tears as possible in a subsequent posting.

Stones

Another thing to consider is every roll will come out with a +50 to a single stat. This is a wonderful collateral benefit and if you are having troubles deciding to sell or fuse, I encourage you to read my post HERE discussing the matter.

Day 1:

Day 1 has the lovely Sonias who despite their best efforts, are starting to fall behind due to powercreep as leads. As subs, they are wonderful on their respective mono-colour teams or assistants for Skill Inheritance. The Odins are more luxury based or niche in comparison. Dark Kali Dark Kali is the big prize of the day and is a vital sub on Ra Dragon Ra Dragon. Finally, the Metatrons are falling behind due to powercreep.

50 Plus Eggs or 3,000 Monster Points: A Comparison

Introduction

To fuse, or not to fuse-that is the question. And that is probably the question of the week with the introduction of +50 eggs rolling out of the Rare Egg Machine during the 55 Million Downloads 5x GFE Godfest. We are now faced with the tough decision of whether it is better to fuse for the 50 pluses or sell for the 3,000+ Monster Points. Now, before you do anything hasty and start liquefying your monster box out of rage or frustration, please ask yourself if this card has any value. Can you use them on your teams or for Skill Inheritance. Dupes are now becoming more valuable and you do not want vendor’s remorse. If the monster in question has no true value. then continue reading. If not, please hit favourite on their character screen and read anyway!

Monster Points Overview

With the implementation of the Monster Point (MP) system, we are now able to save up to 300,000 MP to purchase a powerful card who is capable of leading our monster box into new content and territory. Now, 300,000 is a tall order and one of the fastest methods to acquire is selling various REM monsters for 3,000-50,000 MP. However, you are able to farm for Monster Points through PreDRA Infestation and the Rogue Descends.

Rogue descends on Mythical-Plus difficulty always award a 500 MP PreDRA Fire PreDRA along with additional drops for 25 stamina in coop. Rogue descends include Scarlet, Zaerog Infinity, and the other dungeons where your monsters start at level 1. Continue reading 50 Plus Eggs or 3,000 Monster Points: A Comparison
