April 14-15 Godfest Overview

 Godfest Basics

The format for Godfests has been dramatically changed through their REM Renewal along with Full Disclosure of Rolling Rates. These changes dramatically improve your chances of rolling a specific card as the pool of available monsters is significantly smaller as only a portion of the all possible monsters are featured at a given time. This is great news for players as you are better able to focus your Magic Stones on key cards.

Godfests no longer advertise “rate increases” and instead Highlighted specific cards along with 6* Godfest Exclusives being available. As such, these events are the best time to roll the REM as the current meta is heavily favouring these rare and elusive monsters.

Rolling rates may change or vary with each Godfest event and some 6* GFE may have higher rolling rates.

Introduction

The upcoming Godfest begins on April 14 and runs until April 15 and will once again feature twenty 6-star Godfest Exclusives. While the overall roster is reasonable overall, the GHNA Facebook page annoucned that Heroine REM will return this coming Monday.

With this in mind, it is better to hold off rolling in this Godfest and instead spend your Magic Stones on Heroine as it does hold numerous key and powerful cards. Just remember that Godfests will always be here and this current roster is average overall.

On a different note, the Twitch Stream will also announce the winner of the MP Survey which may also influence the decision to roll in future Godfests. On a somewhat side note, if you are desperate for MP, Heroine has a better ratio of MP to Stone consumption if selling off rolls.

As with any Godfest, the decision of whether to roll or not will be dependent on your own Monster Box and individual needs.

Introduction

The upcoming Godfest begins on March 17th and runs until March 18th and will once again feature 20 6-star GFE. This current line up is reasonable overall but just remember that you only have to wait around 2 weeks for another Godfest to come back.

With that being said, there is some speculation that the Valentine’s Day REM will make a return soon if we judge from the cooking contest GungHo NA announced, but just bear in mind that it could be another month or two away.

As with any Godfest, the decision of whether to roll or not will be dependent on your own Monster Box and individual needs.

Introduction

The upcoming Godfest begins on February 28th (last day to complete February Quests) and ends on March 1st. However, unlike the previous one two weeks ago, it has a significantly weaker roster overall. This is because it includes several weaker 6* GFE and fewer top tier ones.

This cyclic pattern of Godfests is not unusual and for the most part, a card will be featured almost every other time at the very least. Furthermore, Godfests tend to occur twice a month so you do not have to wait terribly long before trying your luck again.

As with any Godfest, the decision of whether to roll or not will be dependent on your own Monster Box and individual needs. Continue reading February 28 – March 1 Godfest Overview Plus New Sonia Ultimate Preview

New Split Evolutions Review/Era of Follow Up Attack – August 16, 2017

Introduction

The Norns comprise three older Godfest Exclusives: Urd , Skuld , and Verdandi  who all possess powerful board changers but have slowly fallen out of favour due to the inability to successfully use on current meta teams. However, with the release of their new split evolutions, they gain dramatic improvements to their capabilities as a sub due to the addition of 7 Combo 45 and Follow Up Attack  awakenings.

These two awakenings are some of the most powerful ones currently available as it can dramatically shift your playstyle and strategies when playing through challenging content. Furthermore, both 7 Combo and Follow Up Attack help comprise what I like to call the “Holy Trinity” of powerful awakenings with Guard Break  being the third.

In addition, all the Sonias  received their own split evolutions along with Denebola  and Zuoh .

This article will examine the Norns new found viability as well as providing advice on how to maximize their potential. In addition, I will touch upon the other new split evolutions to better aid you in your decision making of which one to pursue.

—video coming soon—

The Holy Trinity

The Holy Trinity of awakenings (45  ) are the three most powerful traits a monster can have. However, due to their relatively young age, they are not commonly seen across many cards. Thus, cards that do possess at least one will gain significant value while we wait for cards/evolutions to trickle in from JP. [Videos] Clearing Challenge 8, 9, & 10 with a variety of teams

Introduction

I managed to stream for a brief period today and was able to successfully clear Challenge 8, 9, and 10 with a variety of teams. I tend to blink a lot and may not be able to see the orbs with the same clarity as I usually do, but hopefully my Mantastic skills pull through in the end!

Challenge 10 vs Sarasvati

Definitely not overkill on Kali….

Challenge 9 vs Blue Sonia

Another Splashing success!

Challenge 8 vs Dark Metatron

Hit me harder

Conclusion

Playing with one eye is a lot harder than it looks. Eye hope eye am back to normal shortly.

Happy Puzzling!

Meta Snapshot: Tank Teams

Introduction

This is the second installment of this series and it allows me to share my thoughts and insight on current meta trends. Today, I wish to explore the viability of tank teams by discussing their definition, history,  and viability in today’s meta.

Video commentary

 What is a tank team?

Tank teams consist of leaders who augment your health and/or recovery along with providing a modest increase to your attack. These teams do not reduce your incoming damage and gain their survivability from their augmented stats. Tank teams may not boast the fastest clear times; however, they are very safe to play due to their innate durability and the ability to stall for actives and unleash heavy burst damage when needed.

In most cases, tank teams rely on stacking row enhances (Fire Row Water Row Wood Row Light Row Dark row) along with possibly a damage enhance in conjunction with heavy orb changers to one shot tanky bosses. This gives them wonderful damage control as you usually rely on actives to burst and are able to stall with ease. However, you lose all your multipliers if your leaders are bound, so plan accordingly.

55 Million Downloads 5x GFE Review and Analysis

I will continue to update this page as I write the additional monster reviews and have been quite busy with all the newly released content and real life issues. I posted this well knowing I am missing some monsters as I want to give you some information now or at least the handy reference chart for what rolls out on each day. Your patience is appreciated!

Godfest basics

When making the decision to roll or save your magic stones, you need to determine if the featured pantheons can benefit or compliment your teams. Chasing for one specific monster is unwise as you will most likely be disappointed and should ideally have Godfests that overlap with many target cards. Remember all monsters that come out of the REM will qualify for Skill Inheritance so do not be too hasty when selling dupes. For a more detailed team building help, please refer to my full list Popular Leader’s and their Full Sub List Post. If you are wondering which Four Gentlemen 300k card you should purchase, please read my Comparison Post.  Lastly, to find more information about a specific pantheon or monster, refer to my Master List to better refine your search.

Introduction

The 55 Million Downloads Godfest makes a special occasion for both GungHo and players. There are not many games that can claim to have as widespread of a following as Puzzle and Dragons and the players are being wonderfully rewarded with a NA first of 5x Godfest Exclusives. A typical Godfest has these hard to obtain cards at a 3x rate and these increased values should help players secure some of their favourite cards. In the distant past, we were fortunate enough to have 4x GFE that was paired alongside various pantheons; however, during the 55 Million Godfest, there will be no accompanying pantheon alongside and we will only have the Gala of Tides. It is uncertain how this will influence the roll rates and GungHo will never disclose this information so we are still at the mercy of RNGesus.

When deciding to roll for either day 1 or 2, you have to take a look at the featured GFE as there is some overlap and the decision ultimately lies in your unique box and situation. North America may never receive the 10-stone GFE REM and if you are like me, and have been hoarding stones for months, it may be time to shake the Golden Dragon’s arm as this will probably be the best opportunity to acquire Godfest Exclusives and Monster Points. Sitting on hundreds of Magic Stones can put a damper on your progression and there is a certain degree of opportunity cost and benefiting from cards before powercreep reduces their value. I will be rolling and recording my conquest with as few tears as possible in a subsequent posting.

Stones

Another thing to consider is every roll will come out with a +50 to a single stat. This is a wonderful collateral benefit and if you are having troubles deciding to sell or fuse, I encourage you to read my post HERE discussing the matter.

Day 1:

Day 1 has the lovely Sonias who despite their best efforts, are starting to fall behind due to powercreep as leads. As subs, they are wonderful on their respective mono-colour teams or assistants for Skill Inheritance. The Odins are more luxury based or niche in comparison. Dark Kali Dark Kali is the big prize of the day and is a vital sub on Ra Dragon Ra Dragon. Finally, the Metatrons are falling behind due to powercreep.

[Videos] Miru/Myr Descended Clears

Introduction

Miru/Myr Descended is going live tonight at 7pm and is one of the most anticipated debuts in recent memory. I thoroughly analyze her team building and review her in a previous post HERE that I strongly encourage you to have a read over if you have not done so already. However, I never discussed how to actually farm her challenging descend and I plan to post my various clears as I upload them so this post will be a work in progress for the first few days.

Successful clears

I will post my Fantastic clears as they are uploaded so check back on a regular basis =)

I plan on using Awoken DQXQ Awoken DQXQ, Blue Sonia Blue Sonia, and Dark Metatron dtron.

Mythic Plus with DQXQ

My fastest and most consistent team and comes with a Fantastic strategy for dealing with all the various mechanics. One big advantage is all the cards are max level by the end of the dungeon.

Mythic Plus with Blue Sonia:

Blonia vs Miru

Just for fun, Myr VS Mythic Plus Myr

Myr vs Myr burst

JP Clears

These videos should provide some inspiration on how tackle Myr Descended. You can do your own research by using the search term 時界龍 超絶地獄級

Farming Mythic Plus is incredibly challenging and if your main goal is skilling up Miru, it may be wise to simply farm Legend Plus. Continue reading [Videos] Miru/Myr Descended Clears

[Videos] Challenge 10 & 9: A Mantastic & Fantastic Coop Spectacular

Introduction

This round of Challenge Dungeons came with a wide array of challenging spawns along with problematic mechanics that require careful planning to overcome. All the videos were lifted from my Twitch stream (which you can catch every Monday and Thursday at https://www.twitch.tv/mantasticpad) so excuse the lack of editing. Blue Sonia Blue Sonia is an Fantastic leader due to her high burst potential, wonderful damage control, and insane recovery. Due to the music being played on stream, some countries may not be able to view them on YouTube; however, you can simply re-watch the past broadcast on Twitch =)

Challenge 10

Challenge 10 had a wide array of troublesome spawns that required you to have damage control, bind clearing, and high burst damage to succeed. I made a nearly lethal error on the second floor as I misread that he will bind all monsters for 4 turns on his first attack. Lesson learned: carefully read all the dungeon mechanics!

I used B/L Hermes BL Hermes as a base for inheriting Awoken Sakuya Sakuya to remove the preemptive dark binds from Nordis. Normally having a card that is not bind immune inherit a bind clear is risky; however, Nordis will only bind dark monsters so I was safe.

I eventually broke the transfer

Aside from the miscalculation on the second floor, everything went according to plan and just goes to show the power of Blue Sonia when it comes to stalling.

CH10 kill shot
Nordis got wet

Challenge 9

Challenge 9 should have been renamed “How to Kill Ilsix” as the other floors were relatively straight forward by comparison. I chose to use Blue Sonia due to her amazing recovery and her ability to easily handle Ilsix at the end. Continue reading [Videos] Challenge 10 & 9: A Mantastic & Fantastic Coop Spectacular

Satan Ranking Tournament Strategies and Planning

Introduction

Satan Tournament is the next installment in the ranking dungeon series and offers players a chance to acqurie 10,000 Monster Points and various coloured Py. The goal of these tournaments is to “test” our skill by imposing a scoring system to determine your percentile ranking.

In these ranking dungeons, we are scored based on 3 criteria:

  1. Average combos made: 5,000 points per combo
  2. Time Remaining: 500 points per second remaining
  3. Maximum damage: up to 10,000 points if you hit 40 million.

Dungeon overview

 Floor  Monster HP Comments
 1  823 1,877,083 -1s move time for 3 turns
 2 1227 4,250,417 +25% water skyfall for 5 turns
 3 772 972,645 3,140 preemptive
 4 1958 3,005,336 8,032 preemptive
 5 650 2,138,454 7,549 preemptive
 6 977 2,478,751 6,572 preemptive
 7 646 6,666,667 6,005  preemptive

Total preemptive damage: 31,298
Water skyfall (de)buff ends on floor 7

Dungeon summary

  • 7 floors that favour a combination of speed and average combos made
  • All floors have a significant amount of health (cannot button)
  • The water skyfall allows for combo-based leaders to shine
  • Water skyfall also favours water-based teams
  • Skyfall buff ends on Satan (floor 7)
  • Wood teams have it “easiest” while fire will struggle in terms of type advantages
  • No Predras Fire PreDRA
  • 5 turn actives can be used more than once
  • Total preemptive damage: 31,298. Please make sure you heal
  • Auto heal awakenings Auto heal can help alleviate the stress of healing as the damage comes over the course of several floors.
