Just because you have 300,000 MP, it does not mean you MUST buy a card now. Plan it out and wait if lacking any ideal option
Introduction
As part of the large event extravaganza in NA and EU, we will be receiving 390,000 Monster Points over the next few months. For many players, this will their first time passing the 300,000 mark which is required to purchase a card and many will be eager to take the plunge. Conversely, this additional 390,000 may put some players dangerously close to the cap of 999,999 (why is there a cap, I do not understand) and may preemptively force some player’s hands. However, just note that the MP is stored in your mailbox so you don’t actually need to open and cap.
As such, this article will review all the MP cards available (excluding seasonals) to help you better understand their value, if your box can support them, and how they rank against each other.

Ranking the MP cards
It is important to understand how the MP cards stack up against each other as it is my belief that these cards should dramatically improve your monster box and help you progress into the next tier of content.
The following chart ranks the MP cards against each other and takes into consideration their highest evolution and new buffs announced with the JP 5 year stream. I am also working under the presumption you have access to the ideal or as close to the ideal team as possible. Just because the card has strong potential, you need the subs to back them up as they will flop otherwise. The MP cards should also help push you further into end game content and should differ from the type of team you currently have. I will go into more detail further down explaining their uses and value.
To reiterate, this list may be subjective and you should make sure you actually have the cards to support their purchase.
MP Cards Tier List – February 20/2017 |
|
Explanation and justification for each card
While a tier list is helpful for a quick reference, it is best to understand why the cards are ranked as they are.
Ra Dragon

| Pros | Cons |
|
|
Ra Dragon is widely considered the strongest leader in the game due to his consistency, ability to build fully bind immune teams, and ample utility. However, he has one of the hardest, if not hardest team building requirements due to his demand for excessively rare cards for subs and inherits. While “ideal” teams are great templates, there is normally some wiggle room, but Ra Dragon is quite rigid if you want to enjoy the highest level of consistency.
Ra Dragon |
||||||
| Card | ![]() |
![]() |
||||
| Inherit | ||||||
While this team may have some flexibility with their inherits (such as substituting for different colour Gemstone Princesses), it is quite rigid from a sub point of view.
Dark Kalis
ensure you have easy access to a board refresh while Isis
provides ideal colour coverage. Kanna
is perhaps most easily replaceable by any heavy TPA-bind immune card such as Ariel
, but they are of course not as ideal.
Through Skill Inheritance (with future access to inheritable farmable cards) and many reincarnated cards, you are able to help create a replacement card for one of these subs. In an ideal world, they should be bind immune and possess a relatively short cooldown. Some examples include Reincarnated Anubis
and Parvati
. Naturally these are not as ideal and if you find yourself constantly making substitutions to the listed subs, Ra Dragon may not be the best card for you.
If you wish to read my initial review of Ra Dragon, you can find it HERE.
Dark Athena

| Pros | Cons |
|
Dark Athena should be coming to North America soon and will cost 750,000 Monster Points. While this may seem like an outrageous amount, you have to remember that we are receiving 390k for free along with easy access to MP through Rogue Descends. However, this does not change the fact that she is 2.5x the cost of all the other options, but in all honesty, she is worth it.
While Ra Dragon may be able to form what is considered the strongest team, Dark Athena is no push over. While she may not be as consistent as Ra Dragon, she is far easier to activate and team build.
A great chunk of Puzzle and Dragons revolves around repeatedly playing the same dungeon over and over again and it becomes paramount to maximize your efficiency when doing so. While Ra Dragon is able to clear any dungeon, he does so at the cost of slower clears and a mentally taxing activation requirement.
By comparison, Dark Athena is able to breeze through content with a single dark TPA and water combo. In addition, her team building simply revolves around dark TPA cards and one double SBR
card in solo mode.
Strong subs
Notable inherits
In all honesty, you could probably use most dark cards provided they have beneficial active skills even if they lack TPA.
One thing minor downside to Dark Athena when pushing end game content is the somewhat reliance on a large burst active, most notably a Gemstone Princess. However, this is not a limiting factor and not everyone is interested in continuously farming Arena 3.
Overall, I would say Dark Athena has the most gentle team building requirements and comes ready to use. You do not have to go through the complicated evolution tree like the other MP Dragons and will have an immediate benefit for your box.
You can read my full review of her HERE.
Yomi Dragon

| Pros | Cons |
Yomi Dragon received a less spectacular evolution than Ra Dragon, but she is still a force to be reckoned with. She is able to achieve 81x ATK / 4x RCV for God types when forming a 5o1e match. 81x damage for a single combo is incredible from a speed point of view. This will allow you to quickly mow through content and still retain the capacity to deal lethal burst damage when required.
The 4x RCV enables you to easily stall out and dangerous floor and your limiting factor will be a lack of HP. While this problem is partially addressed in coop (will enable you to tank Arena 3 DQ Hera preemptive), it does place constraints on your potential in solo mode as you will have to dedicate a slot to damage mitigation.
While Yomi Dragon is able to lead a powerful team, she can also act as a stellar sub on virtually any mono dark team. With massive weighted stats, beneficial active, and utility-oriented awakening, she can provide bulk and a medium bind clear due to her recover bind
, bind immunity, and heart generating active.
While her team building is quite flexible and can utilize essentially any dark God, there are three stand out options who will generally comprise 3/4 sub slots in most cases. You can refer to them as the holy trinity:
The enhanced orb clause for damage can be problematic if your dark orbs are removed or none are present can be dangerous as orb changers will not correct this. In addition, your two leaders only provide 2 enhanced orb awakenings and this can lead to a somewhat dependency on using Eschamali
.
Overall, I would say she has the most flexibility for the MP cards due to her leadership and sub potential.
Odin Dragon
| Pros | Cons |
Odin Dragon was once the bottom of the MP barrel prior to his new evolution. However, he has been transformed into both a viable leader and a reasonable sub.
Sometimes dubbed the “Offensive” Odin Dragon due to his capacity achieve 1,838x ATK with 3 colour crosses. In addition to his formidable output, you will actually benefit from 20,940 autoheal from dual +297 leaders. This is an incredible amount of healing every single turn and is a pleasant twist on a defensive multiplier. The autohealing does allow you to sustain yourself without the presence of heart orbs (which allows for the usage of heart breakers), but may struggle if you are required to heal massive amount of HP every turn (mostly applies in coop when your HP pool is above 40k).
With a scaling 1,838x ATK, you will be able to control your damage output along with having the capacity to pierce through the 10 million defense PreDRAs
. This greatly alleviates team building constraints as you no longer require a poison/true damage or a damage enhancing active. Thus, you can further dedicate your actives to either more orb changer or damage mitigation.
Your subs can either comprise wood or light cards and it is mostly a manner of deciding who are your best options while prioritizing enhanced orb awakenings and beneficial orb changers.
However, Odin Dragon is not without faults as he lacks an HP multiplier and will be vulnerable large attacks and has a somewhat dependency on damage mitigation for navigating challenging content. In addition, you will naturally have a lower combo count due to the dependency on multiple crosses. Furthermore, the base active skill is lackluster when used on dual leaders due to the fact that you would rarely need that much bind clearing along with a lengthy cooldown that can be challenging to inherit over.
In tangent to his active skill, Odin Dragon’s value is somewhat diminished by the existence of Green Odin
as they both fulfill the bind clear/awoken bind clear role. This is complicated further by the fact that you can inherit Green Odin whereas you must use Odin Dragon as a sub. This is fine for mono wood teams, but may become challenging on other colour teams.
Ragnarok Dragon
| Pros | Cons |
|
|
Ragnarok Dragon is still a powerful option despite the fact that he is not a leader. Thus, his relevancy is heavily dependent on the viability of the leaders subs for as his kit is quite powerful.
Presently speaking, the full board change that produces all 5 colours and heart orbs is the most desirable, but it is a shame that Ragnarok Dragon cannot be perfectly used on Ra Dragon due to the lack of God typing.
Thus, Ragnarok Dragon has the most value on Ronove
, Machine Athena
, and Sherias Roots
teams. Now, none of these are at the top of the meta, but Ragnarok acts as one of their best subs. While he may not appear to make sense on a Machine Athena team, he is actually quite a powerful tool to quickly farm content due to his Killers.
However, those Killer awakenings become problematic for anything above Arena 1 as it will lead to impossible damage control and have to be left unused for Ronove teams. This is a frustrating aspect as you are limiting him to Ronove teams who are beginning to decline. Granted this can change with a future evolution, but GungHo has a tenancy to not love anything below a 6-star GFE so don’t hold your breath.
Shiva Dragon
| Pros | Cons |
|
|
I was somewhat on the fence about putting Shiva Dragon in the one check tier, but he is a step up from below cards and is the most highly ranked card that is not bind immune. It is amazing just how important bind immunity is when evaluating a card’s value and is a major downside to Shiva Dragon.
Regardless, Shiva Dragon does make a formidable farming leader, especially in Arena 1. While you can make a case against purchasing a MP Dragon for farming a somewhat accessible dungeon, Shiva Dragon can do this in a very fast manner.
Due to the unconditional 39x ATK, Shiva Dragon is able to blitz quickly through the 21 floors without really having to slow down or use actives provided you have at least 4 fire orbs each turn. These fast clears will lead to easy rank ups for lower players along with an unlimited stockpile of Py.
While Shiva Dragon does clear content quickly, he is still eclipsed by Awoken Liu Bei
style farming for shorter content. Creating a full board of wood orbs and then swiping will always be faster. This is not to say that Shiva Dragon is a poor leader for these dungeons, he is just not as fast as something that is relatively accessible (you also have alternative pairing for ALB).
In addition to all of this, Shiva Dragon has the potential to excel in longer ranking dungeons as you can easily kill a floor with a single TPA match.
One thing I wish to point out is the somewhat inaccessibility in evolving Shiva Dragon due to the Hephaestus Dragon requirement. Generally speaking, Hephaestus Dragon is one of the harder encounters and is not available through any of the current One Shot Challenges.
Neptune Dragon
| Pros | Cons |
|
On paper, Neptune Dragon looks formidable from a multiplier point of view. Unfortunately, he has two glaring weaknesses: a vulnerability to bind and unbelievably orb hungry leader skill. This is further complicated by a base active skill that is excessively long and underwhelming in most scenarios.
All of this together makes him feel cumbersome as you are forced to link 18 water orbs for 100x damage and will only enjoy a measly 16x for a single row of 6. This will lead to a very low combo count when attempting to deal lethal damage and while you do have an amazing amount of water rows, you still deal lower damage due to having only a few combos.
While Neptune Dragon is capable of clearing Arena 3 (with favourable spawns) and other end game content, he does not excel at it. You can favourably compare him to Krishna
in that both are tank oriented leaders, but Krishna requires half the orbs for full activation and can squeeze in multiple rows more easily. Being compared to a 5-star pantheon card is not ideal for a 300k MP card.
Xiu Min
| Pros | Cons |
|
Xiu Min has regained viability due to the release of Tifa and now a more favourable pairing due to the 7×6 board and RCV component. This will allow you to still deal wonderful burst damage, but also be able to heal up and stall more easily.
However, if you have the subs to support Xiu Min, you are almost always better of playing Myr
and spending your 300k elsewhere.
Xin Hua (Plum)
| Pros | Cons |
|
Xin Hua has gained a resurgence in popularity among the Gremory users as she has a wonderfully synergistic active along with desirable stats and awakenings. For the most part, this makes her one of the best options; however, the extent of her usage/viability outside of Gremory is rather lackluster due to her balance typing and inability to be included on most high end teams.
I would only purchase if you have a high functioning Gremory team.
Xiang Mei
| Pros | Cons |
|
Oh how the mighty have fallen. For a period of time, Xiang Mei was considered a top tier leader as she was released at the same time as Skill Inheritance and was able to form an incredibly stable Arena 1 team with duplicates of herself. The duplicates were essential to overcoming the healer restriction along with providing haste to cycle your active skills.
Unfortunately, her innate durability is no longer impressive due to the heart cross meta and more tanky teams that have gentler activation requirements. This is further complicated by the lack of viable subs and the somewhat reliance on using duplicate Xiang Mei’s for success. The ideal team required 3 and thus a total of 900k MP. For 750k you can purchase Dark Athena who is better in every way possible.
Overall, Xiang Mei is not worth purchasing or pursuing. Perhaps this will change with a future buff/evolution.
You Yu
| Pros | Cons |
|
Like Xiang Mei, You Yu was once a more desirable card to own but has since fallen pretty hard due to powercreep and the low viability of a glass cannon leader. Being able to deal massive amount of damage is nice (and is probably not that high compared to other current options), but you need to be able to actually recover and heal up afterwards.
Presently speaking, we have an abundant supply of glass cannon leaders and while You Yu has modest damage with 8 water orbs, you are better off saving your MP for someone else.
Conclusion
The goal of this post was to present all the non-seasonal MP cards available and help provide you with some direction when making your next purchase.
I will try my best to keep this post updated moving forward to reflect changes as new buffs or evolutions are announced.
Let me know what you think about this tier list and who do you plan to purchase with our upcoming 390,000 Monster Points?
Happy Puzzling!

Personally, I’ve calculated that to 750k Mp , when including 390k mp gift, would cost a maximum of 240 magic stones, if using the heroine rem, and you only get trashy 5*. When using almost all other REM, a maximum of 600 stones, if you only get silvers.

While I play a Beach Miru team instead of Miru, I absolutely love my Xiu Min/ Tifa. It easily completes A1/2 and several challenge dungeons. MZeus didn’t stand a chance. Which is perfectly fine for me and my coop friend..

Same here! I have Ilm but my dad has Tifa so it works out great for us. Took a minute to get his damage scaling but if we can provide the light orbs, he provides the rest. One point is that you can stall without light but you need a fair amount of fire to get the recovery.

I have a couple of thoughts about the whole thing, first of all Gungho really needs to add some buffs or more MP card to buy, as the number is really limited and as you stated before they have niche uses or are a simple luxury to have, my second thought is simply how sad it is the low value this cards are having right now, I mean I remember a point when gathering 300,00 MP was not only a pain but would reward you with a really cool card that wasn’t that common and also help you advance a big portion of the game, my last issue with this is the top tier cards, I mean Radrag is great lets face it, but you need an exact team for it to work fine(yeah heard the new inherits cards could help soften that but c’mon) and those evo materials…, D Athena looks great for what it is and the price doesnt look bad when you think about the whole leveling part ur are actually avoiding however she has the real and biggest problem of Radrag last evo, they are not in US still for some reason, one can only hope for them to come close hoever as far as I see it we will be getting one and then wait another ton for the other one, in any case, really like your posts man, good luck with the eye procedure.

I already have You Yu and I like to play with! Sometime, I use sarasvati as helper leader, and when I do 2M of damage, she do only 700k.
With all those MP… Some month ago, Odin Dragon would have been my choice, but now my Kaede team is Very strong so I will probably buy Ra Dragon.

I really want Xiu Min for his Art, he’s the ultimate Senpai and I have a strong light row box (Wukong, Raphael, 2x DQXQ) but for now I’ll wait and keep my 300.000 MP until they release something a bit more valuable, maybe the 4 gentlemen will get Uevos too, but since they were not as popular as the MP-Dragons I don’t expect much

My only complaint about the tier list is no mention of You Yu’s armpits, either as a pro or a con. No matter how sad it makes me, everything else looks just fine. As for the upcoming MP, it’s all dedicated to completing my Water box. Finally pulled the trigger on Charite now that I have enough buffer room and will likely grab Academy Sakuya when that seasonal comes back. I’ll comfort myself with the fact my tears of regret are also a form of Water.

I hope to get Dark Athena, as I’ve got four strong subs (Grida, AOkuni, AHaku, Lumiel) and some assist (AKarin, APandora, Lumiel).
I’ve got 435k MP and with that 390k free MP I can easily reach the required 750k 🙂

Just a quick note on neptune dragon: is a really niche situation but you can pair it with meridionalis if you weren’t lucky enough to pull her. Obviouvsly you need the correct subs like toshiro, sarasvati and maybe blodin. Is it my current situation: i have pulled meridionalis on my main but not on my sub account, and i’ve already neptune dragon (pre-evo for now…). I’ve tested the team with 3xtoshiro + christmas paulina (for orb enhance) and, even without inherits and “only” a 60x multiplier, you can farm really fast since only one meri is needed for the “no skyfall” clause. In the future, the team will have a 11.25×10=112,5 multiplier and if you factor the inherits, will be a very powerful and fast team.
All this is meant for coop and is a luxury build for sure, but is nice to have this option.
Also, even in solo, if you have neptune dragon already, you can pair with meridionalis and build a team with heavy double orb changers or board changers (blonia, kundali and so on…). Sure is not an end game team, but is fun nothenless! 🙂

I’m going to buy DAthena, as my dark box is very strong (currently lacking a great endgame leader though). I was wondering, how do you feel about Typhon as an inherit on that team? Obviously you have Ryune there, but I feel that Typhon is worth consideration as the active has the same cooldown and makes for a higher combo count while also providing the assist stat bonuses.

Same anon, figured I’d mention my team possibilities to weigh options.I have: Gremory (inherit), Oku, Lumiel x2, Typhon (inherit), Grida x2, Castor (inherit), Haku, Persephone, Lucifer, Satsuki, Hades x2.

Well a quad board changer is unreliable unless you have a follow up orb changer. My main concern is the board can be poorly generated and you may not have a follow up all the time. Ryune plus heart breaker is much more reliable by comparison

I think it’s worth noting that the 390k MP will come in 4 separate mails, so it has absolutely nothing to do with running anyone over cap. Don’t create false need to spend. The only 2 must buys are Ra and DAthena. Rest are mainly for kicks.
I also don’t think this review includes the most recent minor buffs on JP, like YY’s 7c awakening. Not that they were good enough to change anything. I think this is a good review and pretty much agree with everything.

This somewhat answers my question (in what form/how are we getting this MP, mail, 1 time dungeon 100% drop, egg machine).
On topic: i want dathena. i have hakus, persephone, castor, gridas, and super hopeful about a good evo for D.meta!

Someone who plays jp could probably clarify but GH NA will let us know soon
I love you haku, pers, and Grida thus far. Castor competes with your persephone and doesn’t add too much Imo. What other options do you have?
LikeLike
Not the same anon, but castor being an orb changer that breaks hearts doesn’t “compete” with Persephone in my opinion. Castor fills the double sbr roll and serves almost exclusively to break poisons. there’s rarely a time when you’d need to break hearts only that you’d favor castor over Persephone unless you were close to a damage control floor like sopdet and the skyfall would be disastrous. Personally I’ll run d/b castor(revo Anubis) along with revo Persephone(eschamali) and awoken Persephone(flex, maybe kakkab) on my dathena team and I see no reason why with inherits that that would be a problem in terms of them competing for orbs during active changes with a full board inherit like blonia on the fourth sub.
LikeLike
I said castor just bc of the 2SBR. I also have Dmeta, okun, facet for SI, Loki, blonias, Karin, I&I. Those are the most notable ones. Yomidrag too.
LikeLike
I guess if you are playing in solo mode you would need a double SBR sub so either oku or Castor. Oku does have more passive damage but a worse active skill (on Athena teams) so it depends on the needs of the dungeon. For the most part, heart breakers are not the best orb changer, especially if they do not offer much collateral benefits. Thus, if there are no poison/jammers, his active is not that amazing (compared to say Grida). Another thing about Dark Athena is you can only gain the 4x RCV when you match dark and water so each time you break hearts, you lose out on that opportunity. These may feel like small nuances, but if trying to min/max, it does become an issue
I would probably need to play around with her when she is released to find out what works best

Orochi is okay. It’s all a matter of tolerance for getting the occassional bind. He is great on damage, active, stats, it’s just that you could get bound of colors every so occassionally and die, and so it chips down your percentage. Presumably you are dying to rage hits on timers, as RaDra hp/rcv is pretty nuts, so many binds you can just stall out.
The latest announcement has farmables inheritable. So dkali equivalent linthia boards and whatnot will become inherits. Which is not as good as base, but can get you 2-3 inherited dkali boards. So awareness note there’s that. You really ought to have 1 dkali/lightening/something base though.
LikeLike
Neppy with quadruple mori, 3 base, 1 inherited, skips along pretty briskly, but whatever. Just haste abuse whale things. He’s not as slow as people reflexively repeat is all.
XM with budget subs/inherits (RRHood, Gadius, Saria inherits liberally sprinkled, etc) is uninspiring but fine. Arena1, mechahera, whatever. It works. Not super amazing consistent, but not something to straight up hate out. The 900k semi-system isn’t worth it, but the stray 300 if that’s what your box cries for is ok. Seeing whether some more subs sneak in to revo/evolution triple typing and join the pool is perhaps worth an outside awareness mention, or the inevitable four gentlemen evo revamp will eventually stroll along.
The bottom tier MP are, clearly, not ideal, but I’m not sure I’d X any of them. I’d probably make one check the floor. They are all fine if the box support is there.
Best wishes. You’re a marvelous fellow.
Good luck in c10 with all the f2 light absorb trolling this iteration.

Well the idea with this tier list is that it will be updated periodically moving forward (perhaps with every Godfest) and changes can be made accordingly as new buffs/cards are released
Using YY or XM is really not ideal at the moment as while they may help in the short run, they lack potential at end game presently speaking. Just because you have 300k and an okay XM team, does not mean you should purchase her. Just wait patiently and see what emerges.
As for challenge 10, it was quite easy with Meri in solo and only took 4 turns as I didnt delay or poison f1

Hey Mantastic, would like to hear your thoughts on how we can make Reincarnated Sakuya more viable for tackling later content. With her multiplier being x400 now, would you think subs that focused on having shields to form a system similar to the old Anubis double Dark Izanamis, would help Sakuya with her much needed tankiness?
And best of luck on your health!
LikeLike
Problem with Sakuya is you are chasing two different activation requirements: combos and 4 colours. At this point, you might as well play Anubis as you are better able to load up on defensive actives as combos are to a certain extent always given on a board.
Sakuya did need a damage bonus, but is still plagued by consistency issues and what would have been nicer would have been a damage mitigation that was triggered by combos etc
Also, losing water typing may be harder to team build as Light/Dark Kali is fire coverage

I have decision dilemma. I know that the MP points giveaways are coming and that the conventional plan is to save MP points for Dark Athena…
but after the previous GFE I got my 2nd Kaede. Couple those 2(one hyper maxed the other about 1/4 of the way there) with my Rozuel(max skilled) and my Ronove(75% done +’s and skill ups) and i have what is arguably the core Ronove team. Then i would just need to purchase Ragnarok Dragon and i would have another team that would be able to handle Arena 1 and Arena 2 relatively consistently. I know that the team needs tweaking for Arena 3 to deal with Vishnu, Parvati, Sodpet and the Radar Dragons…but it does seem like a viable end game core team.
I only have 180 000 MP points right now, so even with the 390000 bonus i will still only have 570 000 and be no where very near to the 750 000 required for Dark Athena anyway.
But if i pull the trigger on RagDra then that means that DA is waaaay far out before i could buy her. Decisions decisions.

Presently speaking, how much content can you clear and how much more can you clear with Ragnarok Dragon? If the two answers are miles apart, it may be worthwhile as Ragnarok is pretty well positioned to become stronger with the release of a new leader that can use them
However, the main point is can you clear significantly more content (and thus rewards) with the ideal Ronove team?
LikeLike
When i look at what at my box, i really do have quite a few leaders who are capable of clearing much of the end game content. AA Lucifer, A Pandora, Krishna, Meri, Yomidra, Kaede, Sumire, Ronove, A Yomi, R Anubis. And probably a few others that i don’t even realize.
Obviously some are easier and more consistent then others, but I guess in the end its always my skill at using whichever one i choose. Which is my greater problem as I am obviously inconsistent since my clear rate at Arena 1 is so abysmal. Using Ronove might make it easier for me but it might not if i can’t get his play style down. So until i am convinced i can really use him well, i guess i won’t pull the trigger on the purchase.
Now to try to improve my track record on Arena with A Luci. Really hate wasting 99 stamina.
LikeLike
I would suggest giving Krishna a try over Lucifer provided you have a modest sub pool for him. Krishna deals far more damage and is tankier too so he would naturally have higher clear rate. Also has a better base active skill

My apprehension with a Krishna team has always been my rows sub pool does not have many +eggs. I got very lucky with flampys in the technical ‘Alt’ dungeons, so everything but RRH is max skilled. I think i have a pretty good team.
Krishna
Red Riding Hood
Urd
R/R Sanata
Yamato
I gave it a go this morning and things were going ok, albeit slower then i would like as i am not that familiar with my overall damage at 9x and 20x. Then I was educated about the one great difficulty of Krisha in stalling and that was a red skyfall. I lost to Sakuya of all enemies because a darn fire orb match dropped and put her at 15% health which led to my demise.
I will likely give it another go or 2(or 3 or 4) today. Was thinking i would take Gadius instead of RRH. Maybe even inherit RRH onto Gadius so i have a 3 bind clear without having to match heart orbs. Then i could use a full board changer later when i am clear of the early binds. I find i don’t get bound much later on and when i do, it is not vital to bind and attack in the same round.
Alternatively i can also field a TPA team with 2xHino, Awoken Ares, Set and Rozuel. So many decisions. Wish they had an arena training ground as endless corridors does not seem so hard compared to Arenas.

I decided to go for TPA since I have hypermaxed R Hino and A Ares. Then Rozuel for Bind and Urd for full board.
1st attempt ended with Zhou You. He started doing his besieged by fire and i didn’t have his Resolve down yet and ran out of heals.
2nd attempt I destroyed them. No problem floors; though the only tough-ish spawn was Parvati. I took great delight in one shotting Dark Kali( it helps when I have already hit her with 3 full fire rows and then skyfall gets me 12+ orbs all connected together and triggering another row).
Thanks. I really should have thought to give Krishna a try but I guess i had Lucifer blinders on as i have so many hypermaxed dark devils and gods that I was afraid to try anything else.

Congrats on your clear! Glad to hear you were able to triumph and I am certain that with more practice and experience, things will go smoother and you will improve both your consistency and clear times =)
Rows tend to be stronger so you have something fun to work towards now!

My clear record is improving. Saturday I was 3/6. Which is pretty good; but the annoying thing is that i know that 2/3 of the losses were due to human error rather then an orb troll with no options. Both of those could have been wins as they were on the level before Kali and i didn’t use an active when i should/could have.
Live and learn i guess. The runs are getting faster and easier for me though, so that is good. Haven’t moved on to BiPolar2 yet. Likely going to just farm this one until i either get bored or get too many Pis.

There is no real need to do A2 outside of the one time clear so I would stick with A1 until you feel like you have mastered it =)
Also, congrats on improving your clear rate and those human errors will go down as you continue to play more

Will sastuki, dkanna, and rebel luci be enough tpa for D Athena?

That is enough TPA, but you lack orb changers overall

I have to say love the fact you went up and added the warning at the top of the article to stop people from rushing their new mp on a card without thinking, hahaha nice detail…people lets just wait for D athena!!!! remember as long as you dont use mp they wont expire…and if you can farm it then be my guest.

I’ll be buying rag drag. Right now I’m capable of clearing rogue descended with my ronove team.
My main is:
Ronove – carat inherited
Rozuel
Lynthia – sheen inherited
Perseus – Grodin inherited
Paimon – wee jas inherited
Alt is:
Ronove
Gadius
Noctis – verdandi inherited
Balboa g/b
Sumire
I can consistently make 6 combos with the heart cross, but noctis helps with combo shields, balboa for predras (although last two runs I’ve burnt them with Rozuel and Noctis TPA + carat) Wee jas is for delay.
I think rag drag would help my teams by taking perseus and sumire’s positions and hopefully be able to start clearing some of the machine dungeons and arena. My last fail was on d.kali stage 19. That’s the furthest I’ve been so far.

Judging from your team rosters, it does sound like Ragnarok D is your best bet as it will dramatically propel your team forward for all that content. Hopefully you can evolve him and use him right away!

Is there a reasoning other than optimism that people keep mentioning Dark AThena? The gungho stream dodged the question every time and didn’t reply to any of them. and shes not evn confirmed yet for korea

Korea/NA/EU get everything at the same time and GH NA dodges the question because they want to under promise, over deliver and not give expectations. It makes no financial sense to not make her available as she will make people liquidate their box like crazy which = more $ for them
My guess is maybe end of the month to 1.5 months from now

I’m having trouble clearing A1 currently with my myr team. I spent my first 300k on you yu (I had decent water subs at the time) and am nearing my second 300k. I would get ra dra, but I have only 1 dkali and 1 lKanna (with 3 freaking lkalis lol….). Would you recommend Odin dra (with the new kenshin leader, I can pair with regular Odin or something for survivability)? What subs does he need?
Thanks!

Do you have an isis for ra dragon? Also, what kind of dark subs do you have? Athena and yomi dragon are far better than Odin
LikeLike
No isis, currently using sherias for blue on revo ra team. Notable darks subs include z8(2x), awoken luci, panda, chibi Hera, d.meta, d.kali, lu bu, Zuoh(2x), Tsuku yomi, Halloween alraune, bleach shifar, akechi, Hanzo, and sheen.

Unfortunately, you are missing 2/3 of the Holy Trinity for Yomi Dragon so that is a no go and don’t really have much in the way of dark TPA cards for Athena. I would simply hold off for now on a purchase until your box develops further

Thanks for the advice! I’ll be saving mp then. Just cleared a1 for the first time with my myr team so no rush 😀

Hey Mantastic, hope you’re well. Which of the “good” options do you find the most interesting/most fun? It’s a subjective question but I’m just not really sure what to do.
My box meets the sub requirements for the ideal Ra Dragon team but I’m not sure if I want to play him as I’ve been playing rainbow leaders (Light Kali > Awoken Ra > Awoken Sakuya > Ronove) for basically the whole game. Dark Athena should also be quite viable with my box. No Eschamali for Tsukuyomi Dragon, but lots of other solid dark subs that should be viable.
I feel that I can safely choose any of the three, and although Ra Dragon probably makes the most sense, I feel like I wouldn’t miss out on a huge amount of fun choosing something else. Basically the only reason I’m considering him is because I’m proud of my Dark Kalis and I want to see them on a team. But that’s about it. What do you think?
LikeLike
For myself, I am somewhat the opposite as I only played rainbow teams at the beginning as I only own Light Kalis. As such, for myself, I would love to play Ra Dragon as it offers something “new” to me
For you, how important is optimal teams and clearing all the content in the game. If it is very important, Ra Dragon may be the way to go as you are lacking an ideal YD team and I am not sure on what you have to DA

Oh boy, I’ve been a long time lurker here, almost a year now. (can’t believe it’s already been a year). Your blog has helped me through so much content, and without it, I’m pretty sure I would have quit. Despite what my friends told me, I bought Xiu Min today, and I’m very happy with my purchase. The team I will be running is:
Xiu Min/Ilm/Saria/Wukong/ADQXQ/Tifa.
I just wanted to thank you for all the help you’ve provided me during my PAD adventure, and I’ll try and comment from now on :D. Have a great day!

An extra criticism of Odindra is the fact that acala exists. She, as a lead, can do anything he can, but better. I still bought him though, because he’s an excellent sub for my acala, with those stats and the 7c 2x awakening.

Well Odin Dragon has bind immunity, but he is replaceable like Neptune Dragon. Neither does enough to really warrant a purchase, but at least Odin Dragon does open up new content by comparison

Looking at building a D. Athena team. I have YomiDra, D Kanna, Eschamali, Lumiel, BND Pandora, A Haku, Grida, Christmas Haku, Ryune, and B Sonia. Suggestions on main team and inherits?

I also have Uevo Loki and Orochi.

I would suggest Haku, D Kanna, Loki, and probably Grida as subs and inherit as required. You should put a damage enhance on Loki or Dkanna and an orb changer on the other
LikeLike
Mantastic, thanks for the reply. I’m a little confused. Loki and D. Kanna are both damage enhancers. Wouldn’t you want to switch one or the other with an orb changer (say Pandora, Esch, or Lumiel)? Then use the second enhancer as an assist on someone? I’ve only been playing for a year and haven’t gotten into the assist system as yet. Your assistance is appreciated. 🙂

Its more so to capitalize on their better awakenings. Pandora brings nothing but a useful orb changer while Kanna/Loki provide 3 or 2 TPA. I guess it can come down to personal preference, but you can always inherit Pandora overtop one of them

Bleak Night (Beach) Pandora actually brings 2 TPAs. Going to try out the following when the time comes: D Athena (Orochi); A. Haku (Ryune); Grida (Lumiel); Beach Pandora (Eschamali); and D. Kanna (UEvo Loki). 12 TPAs and 4 OEs (15 TPAs with D. Athena helper). Toying with switching the Beach Pandora/Eschamali pairing. 13 TPAs and 11 OEs. Thoughts?

Hey Mantastic, I am an amateur PAD player. I stopped playing PAD for a year and started again recently… I now have 300k MP. I am thinking either Yomi Dragon or Shiva Dragon.
My Fire God Cards for Shiva Dragon Team are:
Odin 8* (3392)
Leilan 7* (1262)
Kuvia 5* (3280)
Markab 5* (2190)
Shiva 6* (237)
My Dark God Cards for Yomi Dragon Team are:
Persephone 6* (576)
Pandora 5* (1073)
Anubis 5* (498)
Thoth & Sopdet 4* (2412)
Izanami 4* (2408) and I have 2 of these
I am leaning towards Shiva Dragon for now because I have better Fire Cards and the Dark God Cards I have are very weak. However, I like Yomi Dragon for long term.
Which MP dragon do you think I should get? Also, would it be wise if I build a Yomi Dragon with my Fire God Cards?
Thank you!

At this point in time, I would not purchase either one due to the fact that you are missing key cards for either team. It is best to wait as things may change as you can roll new cards.
Yomi Dragon is a better card overall, but you should have at least 2/3 Haku, Akechi, or Eschamali

Quick question. Since the 390K MP rewards are here and almost done I will have enough for either RaDrag or Yomi. I have read your comments about team building and I have to admit I do not have enough cards for RaDrag (actually I have nothing that helps see below for what I could run).
That leaves me with Yomi. I feel I have a decent team but wanted your thoughts before I pull the trigger.
I don’t think RaDrag is a good choice due to team make up:
RaDrag – ADQXQ, Sherias, Navi, (Athena or Reincarnated Ra).
Yomi seems like a good choice from what I have:
Yomi – a.panda, Izanami, Mitsu, (final slot has options – Shantto, Dill, or Aamir)
If you can suggest another alternate that could be farmed for my final slot?
Also can Yomi clear A3 or Myr?
Thanks!

I would simply wait and not purchase anything with those listed subs. GH will probably release something new in the near future and maybe that can take you further. Purchasing Yomi/Ra now will be chasing an older meta without the ideal cards so will be challenging overall.
As for your question about Yomi Dragon’s clearing potential, easily handles Myr but I dislike her in A3 due to damage control issues as 5o1e is hard to calculate
