Monster Bootcamp Part 2 Godfest Review and Analysis

Godfest basics

When making the decision to roll or save your magic stones, you need to determine if the featured pantheons can benefit or complement your teams. Chasing for one specific monster is unwise as you will most likely be disappointed and should ideally have Godfests that overlap with many target cards. Remember all monsters that come out of the REM will qualify for Skill Inheritance so do not be too hasty when selling dupes. For a more detailed team building help, please refer to my Popular Leader’s and their Full Sub List Post which is in the process of being updated. Lastly, to find more information about a specific pantheon or monster, refer to my Master List to better refine your search. If you are considering to purchase any of the Monster Point cards, please refer to my updated Tier List for help and advice.

Introduction

The Monster Bootcamp Part 2 Godfest features the first 7x rates for GFE as well as the debut of Ney .

Ney is a brand new 6-star GFE who features the first ever 5-evolution path that results in a uniquely powerful card who can be utilized by every single player. I go into more detail about Ney in my full review HERE.

Unfortunately, this Godfest features no additonal Plus Eggs with each roll and instead all cards come out at level 50. To poorly entice players, each roll will come with 1 free Tamadra. Finally, there will be no featured Pantheon cards which may result in overall lower rates for featured cards.

Ranking the cards – Pantheons & GFE

These rankings I assign cards are my own and take into consideration the card’s value as a leader, sub, inherit, and possibly any niche role they fulfill. In order to rank in the highest tier, the card has to excel in their respective role and cannot feasibly be replaced by anyone else. This can also be thought of as a Best in Slot card and tends to have applications on the top tier teams.

Despite my best to remain neutral, there is always the potential for bias and you need to be able to examine a card and determine if it can benefit your unique Monster Box and situation. Continue reading Monster Bootcamp Part 2 Godfest Review and Analysis

Ney Review and Analysis

Introduction

The Monster Bootcamp Part 2 Godfest will feature Ney’s  debut and she will be the first Godfest Exclusive to have 5 distinct evolution paths. Ney is unique in that she is able to change her primary element, active, and leader skill to better suit your monster box. As a result, she will be the most flexible card to own as she can fulfill countless roles.

This article will provide an overview of her different evolution paths to better help you determine the best course of action.

Who is Ney?

Ney is a brand new 6-star Godfest Exclusive that has 5 unique evolution paths that will alter her usabiltiy across different teams. This also means she will be able to be fully utilized by essentially every single Monster Box and will be a major boon to own.

However, due to her rarity and 5 different forms, you will be somewhat pressured to collect them all. Thankfully, having a Godfest Exclusive with this much flexibility is a great thing as she will almost never go to waste. By comparison, Dark Kali Dark Kali is a phenomenal card to own, but her own viability is restricted to her narrow focus and not all players can fully capitalize on her strengths. As a result, all the Ney-sayers towards new Godfest Exclusives should be somewhat content with the introduction of Ney as she will not go to waste.

As a result, Ney will debut on my tier list as S. Continue reading Ney Review and Analysis

Quick Thoughts on Final Fantasy and Void Damage Penetration Awakening

Introduction

I have been dealing with a lot of real life stuff including a problematic PC so content has been delayed/put on hold. Regardless, I wanted to share my thoughts on the new Final Fantasy evolutions but mostly the brand new Void Damage Penetration  awakening.

The Void Damage Penetration awakening will grant players new and efficient ways to deal with troublesome encounters and will join the ranks of my Holy Trinity of awakenings by replacing Guard Break .

Void Damage Penetration

Void Damage Penetration is often referred to as the Box awakening as it requires you to form a 3×3 box of that card’s colour to activate (must be exactly 3×3 of that entire colour, no more, no less). When activated, you will ignore damage void shields as well as provide 2.5x ATK to the Box awakening owner. This damage buff can stack with multiple boxes and will occur even without a Damage Void to break. Thus, you can utilize this as a way for a specific card to burst even higher against high defense spawns. Just be aware that this will not have an effect against absorbs, thus Sopdet. Parvati, Hera Dragon, and Vishnu will not be countered. Continue reading Quick Thoughts on Final Fantasy and Void Damage Penetration Awakening

Trading in Puzzle and Dragons – Guidance and Strategies

Introduction

The concept of trading has been one of the most highly desired and debated topics within the Puzzle and Dragons community since the game launched. However, it has the chance to run awry if restrictions and limitations are not put in place. Many players would love to have the opportunity to trade REM cards, but that would simply result in players creating numerous alternate accounts, hoarding stones, then trading away to their main.

As such, GungHo has forbidden the trading of REM cards as well as any card with a sale price of 100 Monster Points or above. Furthermore, you must also be at least rank 110 and your trading partner must have been on your friends list for at least 30 days. Finally, traded cards must be of the same rarity/stars.

This article will explain how the trading process works, provide guidance on what are desired items, establish a baseline value for commonly traded cards, and advice on how to add value, improve your own desirability, and how to make the most of trading with multiple accounts.

Trading in Puzzle and Dragons checklist

Trading is a phenomenal aspect to come to Puzzle and Dragons as it will allow players to round out their Monster Boxes, even out poor drop distributions, as well as acquiring specific evolution materials. Furthermore, it can also help empower your favourite monsters by being able to trade Pys, pluses, and Snowglobes.

While all of this is amazing, there will be some key points to bear in mind: Continue reading Trading in Puzzle and Dragons – Guidance and Strategies

Big Changes Coming to PAD in September

Introduction

Puzzle and Dragons will have several big changes occurring during the month of September and this post will mostly be providing a brief overview of what is to come. The three major topics are Monthly Quest Dungeons, Time Attack Descends, and Trading.

Monthly Quests

Monthly quests can almost be viewed as time-limited achievements in that we have to complete various scenarios for specific rewards before the month is over. If you fail to collect your rewards on time you can lose them.

This has been something that I have wanted quite badly from Puzzle and Dragons as it will help provide some framework/guidance on what to do. Continue reading Big Changes Coming to PAD in September

Introduction

The Monster Bootcamp Part 1 Godfest features the first 6x rates for Pantheons and GFE along with actually featuring powerful cards overall.

Furthermore, each roll will yield +50 to a random stat as well as appearing at level 50.

In addition, Day 1 will feature a complimentary Tamadra with each roll (hooray?) while Day 2 will coincide with the Wisedragons and Heroic Warriors Carnival. This Carnival will feature 2x rates for the following cards:

  Heroic Warriors

Wise Dragons (5x burst for respective colour)

Regardless, the collateral perks on either day are slim to say the least and all the focus will be on the truly exciting Pantheon and GFE line up.

Heavenly Palace of Heretics Clear Videos

Introduction

I have been quite sick these past few days starting with a sore throat that has ultimately evolved into a spectacular fever so my ability to create meaningful content has been put on pause temporarily. However, the Heavenly Palace of Heretics dungeon is in full swing and I have made my best effort to try and post my clear videos as they come in. Thus, this post will mostly be for providing a dumping ground for my YouTube videos and will update as I make my way up.

I plan to try and do a write up on the upcoming Godfest but my fever needs to cooperate.

I technically have 3 accounts to play through these challenges if MOMtastic stays around long enough. This can allow me to use one account as a guinea pig for testing purposes.

Finally, if you are able to clear Level 10, I strongly advise you to save the special reward for future Red Athena.

Level 10

Level 10 is most easily handled by Anubis paired with Diablos but Fantastic is not lucky enough.

Fun fact, using different evolutions of the same card can overcome the No Dupes restriction.

Level 9

Meridionalis still got it.

It is worth watching to see how to easily cheese Sandalphon.

Level 8

Cleared on Fantastic and will do a video soon.

Don’t do what I did and fail to actually kill him several times and trigger the combo shield. I plan to swap in Sun Quan  for Orochi 3386 on Mantastic (I also do not own Orochi) as the 2x burst will help lower the thinking/orb requirement in bypassing the 8,888,888 defense.

I still do not know how I actually flubbed so many times in a row. Here is my clear video on Mantastic:

Level 7

I have begun to slowly regain my voice but I actually didn’t have my mic plugged in. Regardless, all cards but Sakuya have 1 Dragon Killer Dragon Killer latent which means I must hit below 20 million (bumps up to 30 million) per card to not overshoot and be voided.
—

Level 6

I had a less than smooth time with Fantastic in this dungeon and it was mostly a matter of utilizing 2 Durga  inherits for appropriate HP management and burst to take down the later floors.

I used Green Odin 3390 to clear away my binds on Myr.

I would also recommend you use a leader with an HP/RCV multiplier to combat the leveling up restriction as it greatly lowers your health and stalling capabilities.

Level 5

All 6* or below cards will receive 3x stats in this dungeon which is to compensate against the inflated numbers in this dungeon. I simply used my +297 6-stars as subs and was able to combo hard.

In hindsight, it would be wiser to use a Follow Up Attack  awakening as you are more than likely to actually encounter a Resolve Boss.

Conclusion

I plan to use varients of Anubis 3385 /Bastet 3384 with a mirror pairing or Diablos  for the final two floors.

Happy Puzzling!

Farm Your Kingtans and Extra Latent Tamadras

Introduction

The upcoming Monster Bootcamp event features several new aspects that provide incentive to take part in the new bonuses. While there are less Magic Stones being given out via login bonus, the chance at snagging Kingtans and Extra Latent Tamadras are almost too good to pass up on.

Full notes can be found HERE.

Kingtans

Kingtans enable guaranteed skill ups with the appropriate fodder when fused to an on-colour Monster. This is a wonderful alternative to Pys Shynpy for cards that have farmable skill up materials. Granted Pys are easier to acquire through Arena 1, you are taking a 1/5 chance to acquire the correct colour.

However, Kingtans do have a innate drawback: they require a total of 6-same colour Tans to form (1 for the base and 5 for evolution). Granted you can play Tan Infestation, you are still taking a gamble on which colour Tan drops and it is quite possible to have a poor distribution for the colour you actually want/need. Furthermore, Tan Infestation costs 25 stamina (in coop) for 4 Tans and offers almost no gold or rank experience so it can be somewhat viewed as a liability from a collateral benefits perspective.

For myself, I mostly use Tan Infestation as a stamina dump before a rank up as it is a bit too much of a gamble unless I need most of the colours. Continue reading Farm Your Kingtans and Extra Latent Tamadras

Hera-Is Ranking Tournament Strategies and Planning

Introduction

Ranking Tournaments are finally returning to North America and gives players an opportunity to complete their various quests along with earning the highly coveted crowns. This time around, Hera-Is will come with a no Inherits restrictions which will force players to choose very specific subs and can compromise some team building strategies.

The goal of these tournaments is to “test” our skill by imposing a scoring system to determine your percentile ranking.

In these ranking dungeons, we are scored based on 3 criteria:

  1. Average combos made: 5,000 points per combo
  2. Time Remaining: 500 points per second remaining
  3. Maximum damage: up to 10,000 points if you hit 40 million.

However, due to the fact that there has been an exceptionally long content gap between this dungeon’s JP release and NA debut, brand new strategies and compositions will need to be used. I guess you can view a long content gap as a brand new dungeon as tactics of old have become less meta.

My own clears will be published once the event goes live
