Indigo Tournament – Tips and Strategies

Introduction

The Indigo Tournament is another chance for players to try and achieve a new high score to unlock various rewards. This include in-game items, cosmetic upgrades, and solo mode badge quest credit along with a Magic Stone for the first clear.

Unfortunately, this ranking dungeon has a fairly rigid set up for success and hopefully you have ample Killer cards at your disposal.

This article will summerize the dungeon along with explaining the rationale behind building a successful team.

[Video] My First Alt. Arena Clear – Team & Thought Process

Introduction

Alt. Arena (often times referred to as A4) is considered the hardest dungeon in the game and I finally got around to seriously attempting it. The dungeon features many of your “favourite” spawns which have added mechanics, boosted stats, as well as some brand new horrors.

Things such as 145,000 preemptives, damage voids, resolves, and hundreds of millions of health are common occurrences and it takes both luck and planning to succeed.

Video clear

I decided it was time to stop putting off A4 after rolling Edward  and teamed up with either Virtual or Darksworn for both stamina efficacy and greater access to key actives (current solo record was death on floor 17).

Team composition

My team is far from optimal and simply have to make due with what is at my disposal. Do note that Sheen Sheen is preferred over Carat Carat as I have more Time Extends Time Extend than Skill Boosts Skill Boost. I am only showing the Killer latents and the rests is filled by SDR Skill delay resist.

Arena 4 Edward
Inherit Carat 3193 3449

Card

God Killer God Killer

physical killer physical killer
Yuna
Dragon Killer Dragon Killer Dragon Killer
3264
Healer Killer

God Killer God Killer

Machine Killer Machine Killer

Healer Killer Healer Killer

God Killer God Killer
Inherit 3414 3386

This composition is far from ideal so just use it as a starting point for planning out your runs. The Rathian  inherit is in his Weapon to provide passive 60% poison orb resist. This is quite amazing as it can allow you to avoid some of the more nasty mechanics.

With that being said, I plan to modify our teams slightly moving forward:

Arena 4 Edward
Inherit Carat Zeta Hydra 3449

Card

God Killer God Killer

physical killer physical killer
Yuna
Dragon Killer Dragon Killer Dragon Killer
3264
Healer Killer

God Killer God Killer

Machine Killer Machine Killer

Healer Killer Healer Killer

God Killer God Killer
Inherit 3414

Bringing longer delays can help stall out problematic spawns and the additional cooldown is a fair compromise overall. By changing my Nees inherit to Sasuke’s weapon assist, our teams can guarantee 100% poison resist. Just remember to leave both the Sasuke and Rathian Weapon assists at Skill Level 1 to help avoid overwriting the stronger base active.

Conclusion

Arena 4 is an exciting, albeit ridiculous dungeon that is heavily reliant on research, planning, puzzling skills, and luck. I plan to continuously play Alt. Arena along with streaming my adventures moving forward.

Let me know if you have attempted Arena 4 and how successful you were in the comments below.

Full Metal Alchemist Collab Review and Analysis – March 2018

Introduction

The Full Metal Alchemist Collab is one of the most highly anticipated events to come to North America as it features the game changing Edward . Unfortunately, the rest of the Collab is mediocre as a whole since most of the other cards have niche or situational value at best.

This leads to an unfortunate conundrum as one of the best cards in the game can be acquired here but you also run the large risk of rolling numerous fodder cards instead. Comparing Full Metal Alchemist to events such as Heroine, Dragon Bound & Dragon Caller, and Monster Hunter, the lack of value at the bottom (and even the top excluding Edward) may make it challenging for many players to spend their Magic Stones. Granted Full Metal Alchemist is only priced at 5 Magic Stones per roll, it may just result in you being disappointed twice as often.

As such, the decision of whether to roll or not to roll will still come down to individual preference and how much you value the cards outside of general usability.

February 28 – March 1 Godfest Overview Plus New Sonia Ultimate Preview

 Godfest Basics

The format for Godfests has been dramatically changed through their REM Renewal along with Full Disclosure of Rolling Rates. These changes dramatically improve your chances of rolling a specific card as the pool of available monsters is significantly smaller as only a portion of the all possible monsters are featured at a given time. This is great news for players as you are better able to focus your Magic Stones on key cards.

Godfests no longer advertise “rate increases” and instead Highlighted specific cards along with 6* Godfest Exclusives being available. As such, these events are the best time to roll the REM as the current meta is heavily favouring these rare and elusive monsters.

Rolling rates may change or vary with each Godfest event.

Introduction

The upcoming Godfest begins on February 28th (last day to complete February Quests) and ends on March 1st. However, unlike the previous one two weeks ago, it has a significantly weaker roster overall. This is because it includes several weaker 6* GFE and fewer top tier ones.

This cyclic pattern of Godfests is not unusual and for the most part, a card will be featured almost every other time at the very least. Furthermore, Godfests tend to occur twice a month so you do not have to wait terribly long before trying your luck again.

As with any Godfest, the decision of whether to roll or not will be dependent on your own Monster Box and individual needs. Continue reading February 28 – March 1 Godfest Overview Plus New Sonia Ultimate Preview

Version 12.6.1 Update – Super Awakenings

Introduction

Version 12.6.1 comes with the highly anticipated Super Awakenings mechanic. These awakenings are a new way to add additional power onto some of your favourite monsters. However, you must first Limit Break your card, sacrifice a +297, and these special Awakenings only works in solo mode.

This article will explain the process, when to use it, and which awakenings tend to be more favourable.

As a forewarning, not every card can be Limit Broken and not every Limit Broken card can receive a Super Awakening.

Video commentary

–video coming soon–

Requirements

Super Awakenings will only be available to certain cards and those particular monsters must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be Limit Broken (does not need to be level 110)
    • Not all cards can be Limit Broken
      • Not all Limit Broken cards can receive a Super Awakening
  • Already be +297
  • Sacrifice a +297 for a random Super Awakening
    • Can be any combination of pluses as long as it adds up to 297
  • Works only in solo mode

Celtic Series Overview

Introduction

The Celtic Series is the newest Pantheon to be added into the Rare Egg Machine. This means they will be rotated throughout the REM but will be Highlighted upon their initial debut until the next Godfest.

With the Rare Egg Machine Renewal, all Pantheon cards, former 5* GFE, and miscellaneous junk will rotate on a regular basis but will Highlight specific cards during non-Godfest events. However, the Celtic Series are all 6* base cards which means they will have middling rolling rates during Godfests as they will lose their Highlighted status.

Despite boasting 1.4% rolling rates right now, it is not worth pursuing them at this point in time and it will be better to wait for a Godfest to have the chance of acquiring 6* GFE alongside of the Celtic Series.

Unlike some 6* Pantheon cards, the Celtic Series do not possess an Awoken Evolution and retain their active skill. Thus, it is advantageous to evolve them.

Super Ultimate Norse Rush – Farming with Glavenus Hunter

Introduction

Skill Delay Resist Tamadras Skill delay resist are appearing as a 100% invade in Super Ultimate Norse Rush and this type of event is the best time to acquire these valuable Latents.

I try my best to build efficient teams but naturally am limited by my Monster Boxes so take my templates with a grain of salt. They are not the most efficient available, but are still potent enough to get the job done. As such, I encourage you to use my template as a starting point for your own Monster Box and farming practices.

I put 2 SDR by default on each card to protect against the two turn delay from Jord and the Tamadra. I also used Healer Killers Healer Killer to ensure I could kill the first floor as Valkryie is not a God.

Super Ultimate Norse Rush is a fantastic dungeon to farm right now as it offers beefy rank experience, gold, and Skill Delay Resist Tamadras.

New Year REM Review and Analysis – February 2018

Introduction

The New Year’s REM returns just in time for the Lunar New Year and features three new cards while also removing three silver cards. However, there will still be two silvers available along with this Collab being average at best.

With the REM Renewal and disclosed rolling rates, Collabs and Seasonal events have gained increased value due to GungHo not wishing to showcase abysmal rates. Thus, it should be easier to roll the top prizes, but you must also be prepared for the bottom rarity fodder.

As such, the decision of whether to roll or pass should be done based upon your individual box needs, desire to roll the cute artwork, and whether or not the lower rarity cards have merit for you.

As a whole, most of the NY Event is outdated as most of the older cards did not receive any buffs and were already mediocre last year.

Introduction

Another Godfest with no name will be debuting on February 10 that has a pretty solid roster overall. Like the previous Godfest, only 20 6* GFE will be featured which also means that many will be missing. As a result, it may or may not be an ideal time to spend your Magic Stones based on your individual Monster Box requirements. However, this roster looks far more appealing compared to last time.

This article will summarize what is currently available (as well as what is missing) to help you make an informed decision as well as reposting a review of Macha  and Morrigu  in case you missed it last time. Continue reading February 10-11 Godfest Overview

Introduction

Meme – an element of a culture or system of behavior that may be considered to be passed from one individual to another by nongenetic means, especially imitation.
