All I Want for Christmas is…a Snow Globe?

I can’t believe this will be my third Puzzle and Dragons Christmas and every year it gets bigger and better! Gung-Ho has consistently been stepping up their game in terms of the number events, content being released, and magic stone/tamadras/pii give-aways. Tomorrow, we get the revamped Christmas Dungeon with the top difficulty being amusingly named SuperBlessed. I dearly hope the dungeon features festive music (I still do not understand people who play with the sound off) as that helped me get into the Christmas spirit and combined my favourite time of year with my love for PAD. One Step Closer to my Dream Team

The previous Player’s Choice Godfest, I managed to roll a Susano Baby Susano in my 14 rolls for Mantastic. He competes with my hypermaxed Kush Baby Kush and Dark Izanami Diza as a shielding option. However, Awoken Susano Susano outclasses both of them because of his bind-immunity and covering both red and green for my Awoken Sakuya Sakuya team. Having both Susano and Sakuya being bind-immune allows me to activate my leader skill even if the boss tries to bind every monster on my team. This will save me at some point or another and I am looking forward to trying a new Sakuya team roster. Continue reading One Step Closer to my Dream Team

Umi Yami vs Hera Rush Video

Today I managed to record my Fantastic account’s screen and made a quick clear of Hera Rush via the coin dungeon. This was essentially my first recording and hopefully the sound and screen capture was reasonably clear. Recording my screen is a work in progress and would love any feedback the community has. I also want to know if my (Mantastic) voice is soothing to hear and if the commentary is helpful.

Awoken Shiva Team Building and Discussion

Shiva Awoken Shiva is the hottest fire lead in the game and was the reason fire teams are viable in the current meta. Fire teams were historically row-based Fire Row and the row playstyle was limiting due to the heavy reliance on fire-orb makers, the orb manipulation required to create a horizontal line of 6, and the lack of time extends available. Those factors pushed rows out of the meta and the game became more fixated around two-prong attacks (TPA) TPA .  TPA are much easier to match and require less orbs to deal damage. This also allows you to create more off-colour combos, and each match adds an additional 25% damage. Shiva has a similar feel and playstyle to Awoken Bastet Bastet in that they are both combo-based leaders who utilize TPA . Shiva ‘s active skill has been buffed in his awoken form, but it is still a bit lackluster as you bring two into the descend, and it is slightly redundant to have two cards with a damage enhancing active. Awoken I&I Released

I&I I am a bit disappointed we did not get I&I for Halloween as their artwork is amazing and completely embraces the spooky theme. That withstanding, they should be one of the first  awoken Norse Gods to hit North America along with the strangely dressed Thor . The awoken form of all the Norse Gods adds significant power through four awakenings and now allows I&I to be either a row or TPA-based sub. The addition of two Skill Lock Resist helps your teams achieve 100% resistance with greater ease. The new active skill gives me somewhat mixed feelings. I spent a small lifetime skilling up my I&I 2 and the thought of having that go to waste is a little soul crushing. Normally I am all Gung-Ho for an awoken form with a revamped active skill, but the I&I active is perhaps a side upgrade. I say this because the awoken form raises the minimum cooldown to 12 turns compared to 9. It increases the damage multiplier to 2x from 1.5x, so that is very welcomed as it could ensure a clean kill. Extending the damage to dark type monsters is relatively pointless as you are most certainly using I&I as a mono team lead or sub. Continue reading Awoken I&I Released

The voting for this year’s Player’s Choice Godfest (PCGF) is very well done compared to previous years where there was more hostility between the newer and veteran players wanting different gods. With the advent of more clearly defined powerhouse leaders and the MP Dragons, players are given more direction Continue reading Player’s Choice Godfest Anticipation 11/29-12/01

Dark Metatron, Back in the Meta?

dtron Arbiter of Judgement, Metatron, aka Dark Metatron or dtron is one of the oldest Godfest Exclusive (GFE) gods in PAD along with the Odin pantheon. She rose to hyper-luxury REM status when awakenings were first introduced as she was unbindable and had two dark row enhances Dark row . However, she quickly lost popularity as team building restricted you to using only dark attacker subs. Eventually, dtron was given her current Dark-Blue evolution and updated active skill to provide a shield along with dark orb enhancement. The evolution was nice because it opened up sub pools to gods as well, but still could not viably build a team as the introduction of preemptive abilities made it near impossible to stay below 80% health as there was no health boost from her leader skill. Challenge 16 – Level 10 Cleared

This morning I put the Puzzle back into Puzzle and Dragons =)

My only REM shield monster is Kush and she is great for the one turn of 75% damage reduction, but for this Level 10, it would be inadequate as the boss has a 50% resolve. This presented a problem to my team building because I would not have been able to stall a turn or two with a lesser shield (such as Diza ) and a lower leveled team. Almost every clear that I have seen used either Indra  or Susano to grind out the boss to under 50% hp safely. Another problem that would arise from taking both Diza  and Kush  is having two sub slots for a shield. Kush has to be taken because the bosses preemptive of 25,556 needs to be dealt with and a 35% shield from Diza would be insufficient. Indigo Cleared

Indigo Indigo Descended went live at 6pm and I cleard both Mythical and Legendary within ~10 minutes on Mantastic after doing Legendary on Fantastic. It was a lot easier than I made it out to be in my previous posting . Only had stamina to try legendary with my U&Y for Fantastic and elected to use my underplussed Awoken Yomi team for Mantastic.

Less developed, but should be easy to activate in 7x6
Less developed, but should be easy to activate in 7×6

It was a relative breeze to consistently proc my Awoken Yomi and the oodles of time extend allowed me to easily match the 5-orbs with one enhanced along with 7+ combos. Continue reading Indigo Cleared
