What to do with all your Rainbow Event Medals

Introduction

With the REMDra Fever Ranking Dungeon coming to a close today, many players will be suddenly in possession of an additional 14 Rainbow Event Medals :eventmedal:. These medals are a limited currency used in the Monster Exchange System that does not stack. As such, they may be cluttering your Monster Box and the temptation to spend may be high.

At this point in time, Odysseus has been one of the best places to spend your Rainbow Event Medals but with the Monster Exchange Survey, players may have another medium to utilize these coins.

For the most part, I am inclined to only spend my Rainbow Event Medals on Odysseus due to the lower cost and sizable benefit as well as saving for future undetermined events.

Limit availability

Rainbow Event Medals are a limited currency within Puzzle and Dragons due to the fact that they cannot be repeatedly farmed through stamina usage like Plus Eggs. As such, players should be conservative with their spending as we do not know what kind of content will be released in the future. Continue reading What to do with all your Rainbow Event Medals

REMDra Fever Ranking Dungeon Strategies [Round 2 7×6]

Introduction

Do you still have REMDra Fever? Eager to grind away for another two days for a second Crown?  Then you are in luck as Part 2, 7×6 has just begun!

The REMDra Fever Ranking Dungeon is completely different compared to previous Ranking tournaments because Crowns are not just awarded to the top X% of players. Instead, we receive a score for every successful clear of the REMDra Fever Ranking Dungeon and this will be added to all other clears. This cumulative total will then be used to determine our rewards but the most important aspect is players will secure a Crown if they hit 999,999 points. This Crown is guaranteed regardless of how much of the player base achieves this score.

This concept of a “free” Crown sounds almost too good to be true and it somewhat is. We only have a very limited amount of time to play these dungeons and if you are busy for those few days, you will be out of luck. Furthermore, the 999,999 score cap will be difficult/impossible to achieve without ranking up or refilling stamina.

[1st REMDra Duration]: 4/11 (Thu), 12:00 AM – 4/12 (Fri), 11:59 PM (UTC-8)
[2nd REMDra Duration]: 4/13 (Sat), 12:00 AM – 4/14 (Sun), 11:59 PM (UTC-8)

This article will explain how the new rules for REMDra Fever work and how to maximize your score potential.

As a side note, Part 2 will be faster due to the 7×6 aspect as it will yield higher average scores per run. Furthermore, players may wish to farm the dungeon for the lucrative rewards and there is a swipe build available to hasten this process.

If you are interested in some 7×6 solving strategies, check out my previous article HERE.

REMDra Fever Ranking Dungeon Strategies [Round 1]

Introduction

Do you like Crowns? Do you like Grinding? Are you tired of only the top 3-7% getting Crowns? Do you enjoy painful time constraints? If you answered yes to all of the above then you will love the REMDra Fever Ranking Dungeon! In fact there are two parts which means players have the chance to earn two Crowns!

Original Cloud City’s Scarlet Blaze Clears

Introduction

Cloud City’s Scarlet Blaze makes a return to North America and is an exact repeat of its first inception. With this in mind, I have decided to simply repost my original clears with older and less ideal teams here. The main point of this is to showcase how one can go about these dungeons as they do have troublesome mechanics despite us having better cards at our disposal.

Most of the commentary found below was from my initial impressions of the dungeon and it is actually quite interesting to see how team building has evolved over time.

Challenge 10

Challenge 10 was surprisingly straight forward and was actually done first try on both accounts.

Challenge 9

I realized from extensive testing on Fantastic that the poison skyfalls could easily ruin a promising run.

Challenge 8

Avoiding light and dark teams made Machine Hera easy to deal with as you ignore her 2 turns of light and dark absorb. Continue reading Original Cloud City’s Scarlet Blaze Clears

Rex, Sara, & Luna Trading Advice with Spring Fest Medal

Introduction

Starting on Wednesday, April 10, North American Players will be given 1 Spring Fest Medal to trade via the Monster Exchange system to acquire one new 7* Godfest Exclusive (GFE). For this event, Wandering Ancient Dragon Knight – Rex , Crimson Lotus Warrior, Echidna – Sara , and Dark Blade Divine Queen, Hera – Luna will all be available but only 1 may be acquired via the Spring Fest Medal.

This is quite exciting as players will be able to choose the best card for their Monster Box; however, all three of these new cards will be available in the upcoming Super Godfest. Furthermore, with the inclusion of a special IAP bundle, players are also able to acquire a random 7* GFE.

With this in mind, players who plan on purchasing the IAP bundle or roll in the upcoming Super Godfest should wait to exchange after all has been done. This is to avoid rolling a duplicate after trading as cards tend to have significantly more value if it is the only copy you own.

This article will summarize each card’s strengths and weaknesses to help players determine which is the best GFE to choose.

Monster Exchange

Starting Wednesday, April 10, players will be able to trade in a free Spring Fest Medal for one of the three new Fest Monsters via the Monster Exchange system. This is a one time trade and cannot be reversed, thus it is best to wait until after rolling in the Super Godfest or if purchasing the special IAP bundle to ensure one does not acquire a dupe card. Monster Exchange Survey Advice

Introduction

On Monday’s GungHo NA stream, it was announced that the Monster Exchange Survey will be available to North American players.

This event allows players to vote for a Godest Exclusive (GFE) to be featured in the Monster Exchange System and gives us the opportunity to potentially acquire a valuable card.

Unfortunately, the trading ratio was quite unfavourable in Japan and resulted in few players actually being able to take advantage of it.

Voting can be done HERE.

JP results

Due to the fact that the JP server is 2 months ahead of North America, we are able to see what events/goodies are being released a head of time to better plan our PAD future.

Thankfully, this included the Monster Exchange Survey where Zela was the number one voted card. The reason for Zela winning is largely due to her incredible sub potential as she is arguably the strongest wood card in the game due to her incredible kit. Furthermore, duplicates are used for luxury farming teams along with leader we do not have in NA (JP-exclusive Collabs).

With this in mind, I do not foresee Zela winning our survey as she has less applications for NA players. Continue reading Monster Exchange Survey Advice

NA Stream Recap +100 Free Stones and Where to Spend them

Introduction

Yesterday’s GungHo North American Stream was jam-packed with variuos goodies and surprises and i want to take this time to address all of the upcoming content.

Firstly, all North American players will be receiving 100 Magic Stones for just logging in. This is wonderful and will give players more flexibility in rolling and improving their Monster Box. With that being said, there are more “optimal” ways to spend your Magic Stones and I will be providing my perspective and where I plan to spend them.

In addition to this, numerous new evolutions were released along with buffs to existing cards as well as announcements for future Collabs. Furthermore, North America will enjoy various resets including Best Friends so try to use them before the next update (date is to be announced).

100 Magic Stones

In the past, we have received 200 Magic Stones spread across 2 months but there will still be players who are new to the game and this may be the most they have ever had at any given time.

With this in mind, I want to stress that one does not have to spend them all at once and these can be held for an ideal event as there is no cap on Magic Stone count. Continue reading NA Stream Recap +100 Free Stones and Where to Spend them

PadBox is Coming Soon

Introduction

Puzzle and Dragons is a game that is heavily reliant on third party resources/content creators due to the numerous mechanics, cards, and lack of disclosed information.

While this is approach works well in Japan where the player base and culture is bigger and more accepting of mobile gaming, North America sometimes struggles to have the required resources to play optimally.

With this in mind, Izenn has taken it upon himself to create PadBox to function as a successor for padherder.

In essence, PadBox will be used to help better manage and plan out your Monster Box and team building but will require some community support to keep it afloat.

Message from Izenn

The following is Izenn’s goals for this project along with how one can help:

PadBox is released in beta form on github and the program will take your json file to output a web page for you.

The sample output is here: http://padbox.izenn.net/

The code is available here: https://github.com/izenn/padbox

Currently it is just saved to your computer; however, I have started a gofundme to pay for 3 years of server costs: https://www.gofundme.com/padbox-server-upfront-costs

Once the web hosting has been purchased, phase 2 of the beta will start where people will be able to submit their json to a web page and the output will be available online.

The project is and will remain open source.

Issues should be opened on the github site here: https://github.com/izenn/padbox/issues

Web Developer help would be appreciated for phase 2, especially with creating a login framework.

Full Documentation on how to use will be released the week of April 8th, a quick howto will be released today (Apr 5) via the readme file at the github site

Conclusion

PadBox is a passion project made by Izenn where the goal is to become a successor to the original padherder. This community-driven venture has already broke ground and right now, Izenn requires funding for 3 years of server costs future Web Developer help during phase 2.

If you require more information, feel free to comment here or contact Izenn via Discord at Izenn#0173.

PAD Special Event Tournament Strategies

Introduction

Today marks the first day of the PAD Special Event Tournament and gives an interesting twist on team building as our Leaders are fixed but subs, inherits, and solo mode badge are up to the player. This gives some degree of freedom but will constrict scores due to the No Skyfall clause.

Any Ranking Dungeon with No Skyfalls will have a high density of scores near each cutoff as we are somewhat capped on how high our score can go. As such, even improving by 2 seconds (1,000 points) can result in a sizable difference in scores.

This article will outline the strategies I used for this Ranking Dungeon in hopes of improving your final score.

Video clear – 129,708

Score breakdown

In Ranking Dungeons, players are scored based on the following:

  • Each average Combo is worth 5,000 points
  • Each second remaining is worth 500 points
  • Hitting 40 Million damage is 10,000 points
  • Each active used to kill a floor (no combo made) is -5,000 points
  • Matching Bonuses
    • Activate specific awakenings to trigger varying bonus points
      • Some tournaments will increase the point value for certain awakenings

Question Time with Mantastic – April 2019

Introduction

The general gist of Question Time posts are for players to ask various PAD-related questions that do not have a simple/Google-able answer or related article on my website. I do play other games and have often found myself having specific/unique questions about it but have no where to go and can imagine this may hold true for some of my readers.

With that being said, there will be some restrictions on the types of questions I will be answering.

If planning on commenting on a regular basis, it is advantageous to create a WordPress account to both receive notifications as well as giving me a point of reference as to who I am responding to.

Do’s and Don’t

download For the most part, almost any question will be answered, even some non-invasive Off-Topic ones; however, it is best to ask questions that require explanation/why/my personal opinion. The following examples are Fantastic types of questions to ask:

  • Of these options, what is the best Yusuke team I can make for Arena 3?
  • What direction do you think GungHo will take with the 4x HP leads?
  • Can Heart Cross teams be revived and if so, how?

x The following types of questions will not be answered by me either because it has a simple Google-able answer or shows a lack of effort on the reader’s part:

  • Anything that Google/Padx can answer
  • A link to your entire Monster Box and saying “make me a team”

Conclusion

I hope my readers use this opportunity to ask questions that will hopefully improve their overall game play and progression.
