Brave 2 and Wisedragon Series Review and Analysis

Introduction

As part of the REM overhaul, 10 new monsters have been added to the pool while simultaneously removing the less than desirable Late Bloomers, Elementals, and Fruit Dragons. This will at least cut down on the excessive silver/troll gold fodder while giving players the opportunity to pull new and exciting cards. At this point in time, the Late Bloomers and Fruit Dragons are often part of various gift dungeons but the elementals are now currently unobtainable.

This article will review both the Brave 2 and Wisedragon Pantheons along with advice and suggestion on how to use them.

Rankings

I will be following my S, A, B, C, D ranking scale with +/- as required. I will also incoperate these the next Godfest review charts. The order they appear in is irrelevant as only the difference in tiers should give you a general baseline to go off of.

One last point to keep in mind is that all 10 of these cards will be available at any time unlike Gala exclusives.

New Evolutions and Upgrades Review for Version 11.1 – June 7, 2017

Introduction

As part of the Version 11.1 patch (full review can be found HERE), new evolutions and balance changes/buffs are now live for some of your favourite monsters.

This article will highlight the strengths and benefits of each new evolution while providing advice as to which path you should pursue along with providing commentary on all the new changes on each monster

New evolutions

While most awoken/reincarnated forms tend to be strict upgrades, the ones that were released today are not so clear cut. Granted they do gain either an improved active/enhanced stats/more awakenings/etc, but some of these dramatically change what the card is known for and you should exercise careful planning if you lack duplicates. I will be referring to the official FB post HERE. Continue reading New Evolutions and Upgrades Review for Version 11.1 – June 7, 2017

Version 11.1 Update and 3-Player Coop Review

Introduction

Puzzle and Dragons was updated to Version 11.1 and with it comes new evolutions, quality of life improvements and a brand new gameplay mode. This article will not focus on the new evolutions (that article can be found HERE) and instead will be reviewing the other changes with particular focus on 3-player coop and the strategies used to approach it.

Bonus/Follow Up Attack Awakening

Completing what I call the holy trinity of powerful awakenings is Bonus/Follow Up Attack  (Guard Break  and 7 Combo 45 are the other two). Bonus/Follow Up Attack is often referred to as the Resolve Killer awakening as it provides you with 1 additional point of damage AFTER your matched orb damage is triggered.

Bosses with Resolve will survive with 1 HP after all your regular damaging abilities and this Follow Up Attack will deal the final blow before they can cast their 1% ability. As a result, Resolve Bosses will no longer be a threat to most teams as you can simply combo away on a 5×5 board and no longer need to worry about damage control, delays, gravities, or execution abilities. [Videos] Solo Challenge Dungeon 41: Level 8-10

Introduction

I managed to plan out my stamina reasonably well to have excessive amounts to play through the new Challenge Dungeons that came out today in solo mode. For the most part, they are interesting in terms of some of the mechanics that are introduced, but we also have amazingly powerful teams to someone naturally counter them.

I am also in the process of redoing OBS (program used to stream/record) and I wanted feedback in terms of the current layout and the larger camera (and forehead).

Challenge 8 – Anubis

No RCV means you have a much easier time with combo-oriented leaders as I believe I always had at least an 8 combo board each turn.

Challenge 9 – Meridionalis

Meridionalis continues to prove her worth in these types of dungeons provided you can naturally survive any preemptive. Her new evolution provides even more damage so spawns with 10+ million health are simply washed away with a row of water. She is still my go-to girl for Colosseum farming.

No inherits does make managing skill delays more challenging if you do not have SDR Skill delay resist latents. Thus, I would recommend using a leader with a high RCV multiplier to stall out the delays.

Challenge 10 – Dark Metatron

Dark Metatron is probably my current favourite leader to use as she combines ease of access, orb/health management, no skyfalls, and high skill cap all into one leader. While maintaining <80% HP can be annoying, it is certainly manageable compared to her previous incarnations and having perfect damage control is amazing through no Skyfalls clause.

Furthermore, having a mixture of 7 combo 45, rows Dark row, and TPA TPA allows for interesting team compositions as well as playstyles.

Conclusion

New Challenge Dungeons are fun as it does introduce new encounters/spawn patterns, but I am dearly hoping 3 Player Coop comes out in the next patch.

I Want Your Feedback

Introduction

Over the past several days I have been reinstalling my entire desktop due to a hacker infiltrating this website stealing 3 months of ad revenue by putting their PayPal email address over mine. I have repeatedly changed the passwords, email address used, and even reinstalled everything on my desktop to try and keep them out.

The whole process has left me somewhat depressed as every single penny I earn goes to funding my medical expenses and not something that is actually fun or entertaining. I have a physical disability that leaves me in constant pain along with a potentially cancerous lump in my right eye (can read more about it HERE) and I created this website to share my passion for Puzzle and Dragons as well as helping others. I never expected to surpass 3.7 million views since starting in October 2015, but here I am averaging over 11,000 views per day in 2017.

Regardless, I want to take this opportunity to find out why you come to my website as well as helping guide me/make suggestion for future content while I finish putting everything back together on my computer.

Reasons why you come to here

Everyone has different reasons for coming to my website and while the vast majority of referrers are search engines (with Google occupying 98% of them), there are a good chunk who have bookmarked this site. While I can see what are the more popular articles, I would also like to know the whys behind them.

With that being said, there are certainly things I enjoy writing about more than others, but I want to know what your reasons for coming here are.

Thus, I will try to use the poll function in WordPress to quickly gather data. You can vote multiple times, but may only submit once. I don’t know how I will see the results but I can figure it out along the way. Feel free to elaborate in the comments below.

Where you consume and how you consume?

Weird question, but I want to know where you access my website along with what electronic device you use:

Length and detail of each article

What style of postings do you prefer? I would like to maximize time spent to the amount of people it could help as some articles can take days to write.

Conclusion

Thank you for providing your feedback as it is important to me as well as future content creation moving forward. The polls should work, but the comment section is always a great place to leave your thoughts.

Dealing with Duplicate Monsters

Introduction

Player’s Choice Godfest is in full swing and with it comes a flurry of questions fixated around duplicate monsters. Some cards have tremendous value even after pulling 2-3 of them, but some may feel a bit out of place and pulling an excessive amount of the same card can be disheartening.

This article will focus on how to approach duplicate monsters and how to make the best decision for your Monster Box.

Your first time acquiring a card

I do not care if it is a silver or a 6-star GFE you think is lackluster, you should NEVER sell/fuse away a card if it is the very first time you have acquired it. Continue reading Dealing with Duplicate Monsters

[Videos] Player’s Choice Godfest Rolling Results

I had to split up the video into two parts due to the sheer size of each one and the fear that OBS was about to crash. I also have a running tab alongside to showcase each roll as they come in so you have the option to skip ahead etc.

Thoughts on Player’s Choice Godfest Results – May 2017

Introduction

Player’s Choice Godfest (PCGF) voting has come to a close with the results revealed in the latest GungHo NA stream. While PCGF can be an exciting time, it also has the opportunity for dissapointment due to poor voting choices of excessive 6-star GFE and even missing some key pantheon cards due to the votes not being made public. This was most notable last PCGF when we had eleven 6-star GFE (full post can be found HERE) and the surprising absence of Ganesha 3071.

Voting in too many 6-star GFE is problematic as it dilutes the pool of desired monsters as they have depressingly low roll rates but it was honestly bad timing in terms of what was current in the meta. Thankfully, the meta is shifting away from 6-star supremecy and Pantheon cards are now the key cards for many top tier teams.

This post will go over my thoughts and commentary for each voted card along with notable cards along with those who I felt should have made it in.

To sweeten the deal, all players above rank 50 will receive 1 free pull. Official announcement can be found HERE.

If you wish to watch the rolling videos, please check out my subsequent post HERE.

The results

Keeping the trend of hiding the votes (and not even disclosing the actual numbers) removes the chance for strategic voting as you run the risk of a popular card not making it in if you simply assume everyone will vote for them. This probably made many votes go to waste on already shoe-in winners.

Winners are in order from left to right:

Player’s Choice Godfest May 2017
1-5  3414
6-10 Indra Dark Kali 3385  3071
11-15 A Liu Bei 3386 3416 Bankai Andro Isis
16-20 Lumiel Eschamali 3233
21-25 3236 3273 3202

By comparison to the last PCGF, we only have six 6-star GFE as opposed to eleven. along with no 5-star GFE. However, there are Continue reading Thoughts on Player’s Choice Godfest Results – May 2017

Thoughts on 7 Combo, Guard Break, Follow-up Attack, and new Awakenings

Introduction

This past month, we have been given a taste of the next wave of Powercreep for awakenings: 7 Combo 45 and Guard Break  while also being teased by the Follow-up Attack  mechanic. In addition, there are going to be minor shifts/changes to existing awakenings and latent awakenings.

All of these add tremendous potential and diversification to your teams and this article will take a look and examine how to make the most of them.

Video commentary

—video goes here—

Powercreep awakenings

Powercreep is a healthy aspect of any long standing game as it is what drives content forward as you need newer toys to tackle harder dungeons. However, one of the best aspects of PAD is that older cards become revitalized through new evolutions/buffs that can incorporate these new awakenings. This is great because you are not always chasing new cards and may have some hidden sleepers lying around in your Monster Box.

Since some of these awakenings are new, it will take time for more cards to acquire them and may feel restrictive as you can only use a few cards in the mean time.

7 combo awakening

The 7 Combo 45 is perhaps the most powerful awakening to be released as is provides 2x damage for that card when achieving 7 or more combos. While 2x for a single card may feel okay at best, you have to remember that you have the potential to run a whole team of 7 combo cards which effectively grants you a total 2x multiplier that is controllable. Continue reading Thoughts on 7 Combo, Guard Break, Follow-up Attack, and new Awakenings

Just for Fun – Strange Arena 1 Clear

Introduction

I have been a part of the PAD community for several years and in this time I have met countless players of varying progression and skill levels. Some of these players possess amazing knowledge and insight for the game and their points of view/expertise are always refreshing to listen to.

Today, I wish to focus on one of the most bizarre Arena 1 by my friend Virtual who has a special fondness for the Plessie-bean and using interesting teams. They have been playing PAD for 960+ days while also surpassing rank 940 and acquiring every single ranking dungeon crown.

Arena 1 clears

At this point in time, Arena 1 has been turned more into a farming dungeon in that a wide variety of teams are capable of clearing it as it is over a year old. However, very few people wish to utilize the glorious Plessie-bean in challenging content. Continue reading Just for Fun – Strange Arena 1 Clear
