Creature Quest Beginner’s Guide

Foreword

To all my regular readers, this is not the latest Puzzle and Dragons update and I still plan on producing PAD related content. Creature Quest is another game I have begun to play which I greatly enjoy. I have seduced quite a few of my friends into playing and I realized I tend to repeat the same beginning advice over and over again. As such, why not formally write about it as that was partially one of the reasons to start creating content for Puzzle and Dragons.

If you are reading this, I do encourage you to at least try Creature Quest out as it is quite fun and addicting as it combines many aspects that I look for in a video game.

Introduction

Creature Quest is a relatively new mobile game that combines questing, collecting, and weekly PvP/PvE tournaments into one great adventure. Some of the key elements I look for in a game are continuous replay value as well as rewarding gameplay.

Creature Quest utilizes a Gatcha-collection system in that you can gamble Diamonds (premium currency) for creatures of varying value. In addition, you can also acquire rare and powerful creatures from the 3 distinct gameplay modes that are essential for success. While Creature Quest utilizes a Freemium structure (free to play, but option of In-App Purchases/IAP), it is not a Pay-to-Win game as everything is farmable to a certain extent. Furthermore, the PvP aspect relies on using creatures of varying sizes for success and you are unable to populate it with only Legendary cards.

The combat system is an elaborate rock paper scissors game in that each element is strong against one type while weak against another (often referred to the Colour Counter Flowchart). This prevents “optimal” teams as you will have to be flexible when team building to counter the dungeon at hand. This also means you should try to resist becoming overly attached to a single creature as they will have to be rotated in and out as required as you can only use 5 at a time.

I enjoy the fact that playing the game is tremendously rewarding as each gameplay mode offers incredible rewards and keeps me motivated to continuously play. The randomness through Questing or summoning new Creatures is exciting and having Guilds adds an extra layer of community within Creature Quest. In addition, the in game text/descriptions are quite punny and the animated characters, special effect noises, and soothing music all contribute to the overall positive experience.

This article will help guide newer player through all the different components of the game along with tips and tricks to fully optimize your game play.

Before I discuss the gameplay, it is important to understand the various currencies available in Creature Quest. All of these have different applications are important to manage wisely. Continue reading Creature Quest Beginner’s Guide

Linthia Descended – Dios Leader Farming Guide

Foreword:

Hello! I am Rawrzcookie AND (I don’t have an alt account) and today, I would like to introduce myself to all of you! If you do not know who I am, then no worries! I am a mod for Mantastic’s Twitch Stream, as well as an admin for Mantastic’s Discord! In terms of my PAD-life, I have been playing for 1200+ days and I am 100% NIAP. If you have any questions regarding my guides, don’t hesitate to shoot me a PM over in Discord and I will answer you ASAP!

Introduction:

Many people want to be able to obtain MP easily because let’s be honest; who DOESN’T want easy MP? However, the idea behind “MP Farming” is something most people feel they are unable to accomplish because they simply lack the leader capable of doing so.
This mainly revolves around Awoken Liu Bei, who can easily clear and farm many Rogue Descends. On the downside though, many people may not have been lucky enough to roll an Awoken Liu Bei, or any other farming leaders, and thus feel like they are missing a huge component of MP farming. Thus, I have come up with this idea behind Dios-Lead farming teams for those who are unlucky to never be able to roll a Liu Bei. I start with Linthia Descended as her dungeon is relatively straight-forward, and can be easily made with a fully farmable team (aside from one player owning and leading with Liu Bei). Extravagant Easter Godfest Review, Tier List, and Analysis

I have added mouse over text for all of the icons for the tier lists. Let me know if you find any errors =)

Godfest basics

When making the decision to roll or save your magic stones, you need to determine if the featured pantheons can benefit or complement your teams. Chasing for one specific monster is unwise as you will most likely be disappointed and should ideally have Godfests that overlap with many target cards. Remember all monsters that come out of the REM will qualify for Skill Inheritance so do not be too hasty when selling dupes. For a more detailed team building help, please refer to my Popular Leader’s and their Full Sub List Post which is in the process of being updated. Lastly, to find more information about a specific pantheon or monster, refer to my Master List to better refine your search. If you are considering to purchase any of the Monster Point cards, please refer to my updated Tier List for help and advice.

Introduction

The Extravagant Easter Godfest descends this weekend and features 3x rates for featured Pantheons along with 4x for GFE. In addition, all rolls out of the Rare Egg Machine will come with +50 to a random stat. Finally, non-featured Godfest Exclusives will not appear from the Rare Egg Machine.

Following the trend of my previous Godfest reviews, I will include a tier list of both the pantheons, GFE, and a list that combines both for each day. Furthermore, I will include a fully updated Pantheon tier list to help showcase where all your cards fit in.

If you wish to read a more thorough analysis of the Three Kingdoms 2 pantheon, please refer to my previous post HERE. A full review of Fujin and Raijin can be found HERE.

Ranking the cards – Pantheons & GFE

As part of my new format for Godfest posts, I will try my best to rank the featured pantheon cards along with GFE and then combine the two to showcase how strong of a day it is to roll. These opinions are my own and take into consideration the card’s value as a leader, sub, inherit, and possibly any niche role they fulfill. In order to rank in the highest tier, the card has to excel in their respective role and cannot feasibly be replaced by anyone else. This can also be thought of as a Best in Slot card and tends to have applications on the top tier teams.

Despite my best to remain neutral, there is always the potential for bias and you need to be able to examine a card and determine if it can benefit your unique Monster Box. Continue reading Extravagant Easter Godfest Review, Tier List, and Analysis

New Content Update – Evolutions & Buffs Overview

Introduction

An amazing amount of content was released last night and it is almost overwhelming trying to keep abreast with what is hip to the hop and worth pursuing. This article will try to help provide some clarity to the new cards and which ones you should prioritize if resources are limited.

In addition, I will also be briefly touching upon the notable buffs and eventually begin work on a farmable monster tier list from an inherit and leader/sub point of view.

New evolutions

If you refer to the official GungHo Facebook Page, there is an incredible amount of content to scroll through and the reincarnation process is resource intensive as each cards requires 16 million experience to level up. As such, you should resist the urge to reincarnate things you are using if you are unable to re-max level them.

Naturally, who you prioritize with your resources will be based upon your individual box needs and you should take my recommendations with a grain of salt.

 Amon & Baal

The main problem with Belial, Amon, and Baal was that they had low value actives and desperately needed this Awoken evolution to revamp them. Now, they did lose some “signature” awakenings, AKA Amon’s Machine Killer Machine Killer and Baal’s Coop Boost Multiplayer Bonus and bind immunity, but these were replaced with dual TPA TPA. While Machine Killer is quite unique, it has situational value at best with the access to the new Killer latents and the fact that most water cards are Physical and thus qualify to use them (which I use on my Meridionalis 3276 team).

On the other hand, Baal’s Coop Boost tends to be hazardous as it would cause him to hit significantly harder than the rest of the team. In addition, the loss of bind immunity is not appetizing. Continue reading New Content Update – Evolutions & Buffs Overview

0 Stamina Normals + 4x EXP Descends: What to Expect & how to Maximize your Experience

Challenge Mode Magic Stone clears are resetting soon so do them all now. You should also stock up on coins to purchase Tamadra Infestation as a Stamina dump

Introduction

0 Stamina Normals and 4x EXP Descends are coming to Puzzle and Dragons this month (I do not know the exact date, but it is soon) and this will be a first for NA/EU. Like 4x Technicals, this upcoming Extravagant Easter Event will be a fun filled adventure as we will now effectively have unlimited stamina in to play around with.

This is Fantastic and perhaps the main limiting factor will be how much time you have to dedicate to Puzzle and Dragons during these events.

This article will help provide my thoughts on 0 stamina normals, 4x EXP Descends, suggestions as to where you can spend your stamina as well as various team compositions for tackling Legendary Earth.

One thing I want you to keep in the back of your mind is the dangers of blindly farming rank experience. You can read about that in a different article HERE.

To Ganesha or not to Ganesha

Before I jump into the events specifically, I want to address the idea of using Ganesha 3071 during these periods of enhanced rewards. Ganesha is the only leader who can increase the rank experience gained when completing a dungeon. This has tremendous applications as you are now able to when you rank up as you are able to modify your experience gains by 1x, 1.5x, or 2.25x based on the number of Ganesha leads you bring. 150/250 Memorial Rolls + One-Shot Challenge Clear Videos

Introduction

A few things are currently happening in PAD, but the 4x Descend EXP is a little melodramatic due to the fact that there is no 10x Plus Eggs occurring simultaneously. I am still in the midst of writing about 0-Stamina Normals, but here is a couple videos from my YouTube channel to hopefully tie you over.

150/250 Memorial Roll Reset

You cannot complain about free rolls and I document my rolls as they come in during the video so feel free to jump around.

One Shot Challenge – Zeus Dragon

Both of my accounts including my Mom had Zeus Dragon (I still do not know how it is chosen as we are different starter dragon colours or different letter groups) so I only recorded a single playthrough with Meridionalis 3276. This was my first attempt and was done “blind” in the sense that I did not know which Radar Dragon I was facing so I brought all the counters possible for each spawn.

Conclusion

Let me know what you rolled from the 150/250 Memorial REM as well as how you tackled the One-Shot Challenge this time around.

Pantheon & GFE Tier List – April 4, 2017

Introduction

I have begun to utilize my own tier list for both the featured Pantheon Gods and GFE every Godfest and I felt it would be appropriate to have a master list available at all times. This list will be updated through a new post as buffs/evos are announced or as I do a subsequent Godfest review that has me change the rankings.

It is my hope that this list will become a quick reference source for players who are newer to the game as they can quickly see where their new cards rank/place. Part of my desire to do this is from my starting journey in Fire Emblem Heroes and constantly referencing their respective tier list.

If a card has a split evolution path, I simply evaluate the best option possible.

If you are thinking about purchasing a Monster Point card, please refer to my tier list and review HERE.

The best of the best. These cards compromise a best in slot role on top tier teams. They are largely irreplaceable and tend to offer something unique that cannot be easily replicated. Was Myr a Bad Idea & My Hopes for the next Farmable Monster

Introduction

Myr Miru has been live in NA/EU for many months now and took the PAD meta by storm. Not only was she the most powerful farmable monster released to date (from a leadership perspective), she was also capable of clearing all of the current content with relative ease. Her debut granted her an effective 4x HP / 49x ATK / 4x RCV that was later buffed to 59x ATK from a later JP stream has set the bar incredibly high in what it takes to become an end game leader as she combined both offensive and defensive capabilities.

While Myr was a blessing for a large portion of the Puzzle and Dragons population, she was also met with harsh criticism as she somewhat invalidated many polished/well developed teams overnight. While it is a frustrating experience to see months of hard work swept aside due to giant leaps in Powercreep, we have to remember that two new and unique aspects occurred at the same time: the heart cross meta and an actually viable farmable card.

What I hope to accomplish with this article is both a review of Myr’s history and current situation along with my hopes for farmable cards moving forward.

Best Friend Resets and Raffling off my Tokens

Introduction

This coming Wednesday will bring the return of the Rank 150/250 REM rolls along with Present and Best Friend Resets. This means you must use these benefits before Wednesday (April 5) evening.

For myself, I have not used my Best Friend token on Mantastic and plan to raffle it off through my Twitch Twitch stream and Revlo.

How to participate

To participate, you simply need to have your twitch account watching my stream to passively generate 1 Myracle Stone every 3 minutes (like stamina) and then using 5 Myracle Stones for a raffle ticket.

There is no limit on the number of tickets you can purchase and will have until part way through my Tuesday stream when I plan to draw the winners.

You can enter by typing in Twitch Chat:

!ticket X

Where X = the number of tickets you wish to purchase. This can be done repeatedly and as often as you wish.

“Fine” print

I have 3 planned Twitch streams (Saturday 2pm, Monday 6pm, and Tuesday 4pm PST) so there is plenty of time to participate. You do not even have to be present to generate the Myracle Stones as having my window open will credit you accordingly.

You can also purchase tickets offline via this link HERE if you were unable to type in the Twitch chat.

Three winners

There will be three winners in total: 2 for Mantastic and 1 for Fantastic’s Best Friends token.

The first winner will get to go first in which account they wish to be best friended by. However, at least 1 winner for Mantastic’s account has to be present in the Tuesday Stream as it has to be done before the reset. The other two winners can be best friended any time after the reset.

Conclusion

Make sure you use all your Presents and Best Friend tokens along with 150/250 rolls before this Friday.

Looking forward to see you in my Twitch Stream these next few days.

Happy Puzzling!
