Gremory & Ronove Overview and Sample Team Building

Introduction

The Island Luau Godfest comes in tandem with the release of two new Godfest Exclusives: Gremory Gremory and Ronove Ronove. Both these leaders bring a new twist to the heart-cross patterns and are capable of clearing end game content. The purpose of this post is to quickly summarize and theory craft teams for these two new top tier leaders.

Just keep in mind that the heart cross shield/additional multiplier carries over on a floor sweep. This means it will protect you from preemptive strikes but also retains the additional multiplier if there is no preemptive of any kind.

Beach Myr – Worth the 500,000 Monster Points? Review and Analysis

Introduction

GH Boss: “We need to increase revenue, think of an idea!”

GH Peon: “Recolour Myr,  make her prettier, less Lolli, and 500K MP?”

GH Boss: “What a Myraculous idea! 5 magic stone pay raise, go roll yourself a new silver egg!”

Perhaps this played out differently than my imagination, but it is akin to the trend of making an Eschamali in every colour. It has already been well established that Light Myr Miru is one of the top tier leads and is capable of clearing any dungeon Puzzle and Dragons has to offer (you can see my Arena 3 clear/video HERE). 49x ATK may not sound that impressive; however, when paired with a 75% damage reduction shield and the ability to stack row enhances, you are capable of delivering lethal damage while benefiting from 4x HP/RCV when forming a heart cross.

Unfortuantely, Beach Myr Beach Myr is an 8-star Collab roll or 500,000 Monster Points and is a colour swap of the 100% farmable Light Myr. With such a steep price tag for what essentially amounts to something you can acquire through a lot of hard work and dedication, is it really worth the cost? If you wish to read more about Light Myr, feel free to check out my discussion HERE. If you wish to read my full PAD Island review, please check out my next article HERE.

  • Damage and shield carry over on a sweep and persist if no preemptive
  • You can touch and hold a heart orb after using Myr’s active to cancel the change the world effect without triggering an enemy’s turn

Sample gameplay

Beach Myr has a unique playstyle and is one of the few leaders to utilize the heart-cross formation to deal damage. Furthermore, the extensive additional time to move orbs allows you to fully set up your board. Light Miru has been heavily utilized by the Japanese player base and Beach Myr is also capable of Myraculous clears.

Kaede – New Top Tier Leader: Monster Review and Analysis

Introduction

Don’t go breaking my heart. I couldn’t if I tried. Honey if I get restless. Baby you’re not that kind. I should probably stick to guide writing instead of singing songs that only a few would know. Regardless, Kaede will never break your heart, in fact, she is able to manufacture additional heart orbs along with utilizing heart crosses for additional damage and shielding. Furthermore, this new evolution for Kaede has propelled them into the top tier ranks on the various JP lists. This is because you are able to deal spectacular damage, have 75% damage reduction, and form a system-like team.

Awoken Liu Bei – Review and Analysis

Introduction

Awoken Liu Bei A Liu Bei has been released in North America and has caused quite the storm with his arrival. However, his true power is not as apparent as other top tier leaders and I want to explore why Liu Bei is relevant and how you go about making a successful team for him.

Sample gameplay

Awoken Liu Bei would normally be a lackluster leader due to the active clause for additional healing and recovery. Granted you would probably be needing an active to match 9 wood orbs, but we have seen from before that skill delays (or in the case of skill binds due to no SBR Skill Lock Resist) can ruin these types of leaders. However, with the introduction of coop, we now have the actives from 10 different monsters as well as their awakenings. As such, Awoken Liu Bei teams are able to form a push button team to farm some of the most challenging content available.

But seriously, Miru Miru is perhaps the first monster who actually gets younger with each evolution. How is this possible? The Four Gentlemen Series: A Comparison and Analysis

Introduction

With the release of the Xiu Min Xiu Min, North American players now have a total of ten, 300,000 Monster Point cards to choose from. The first six are relatively well-known and how they fit in the current meta. However, The Four Gentlemen are still relatively new and many players are wondering who is best the best to purchase. Xiu Min – 300k MP Monster Review and Analysis

Introduction

Xiu Min is the final card of the Four Gentlemen series (300,000 MP monster) and is another glass-cannon oriented leader. They are capable of achieving 110.25x ATK on a light row Light Row based team and should obliterate essentially any obstacle foolish enough to stand in your way. Xiu Min has a reasonable active skill and their 10-turn cooldown makes them less appealing as a base for Skill Inheritance. Thankfully, you do not have to use numerous Xiu Min’s to form an effective team which is a relief after Xiang Mei Xiang Mei. However, with the advent of numerous other glass-cannon leaders and the future released heart-cross cards, how viable is Xiu Min?

The above chart shows how your multiplier works with the various possible combinations; however, the multiplier is not as straightforward as you may think as you are better off making a connected 10 light orbs instead of a 3 + 7 match. At 11 orbs, it is more favourable to make a 3 + 8 match as that will yield a higher multiplier:

Xiu Min lacks dual typing and does not have a sub attribute. This seems bizarre for a 300k MP Monster; however, his leadership power brings fourth an impressive amount of burst damage when forming light rows. You Yu vs Sarasvati: A Comparison and Analysis

*Sarasvati’s full guide can be found HERE*

Introduction

You Yu You Yu has been released in North America, but his debut was somewhat marred by the announcement of Uuevo Sarasvati 3069.  Both leads focus around matching numerous water combos along with either a 5o1e or row to trigger their full multiplier. Both are capable of achieving spectacular levels of damage but suffer from fragilty and a certain degree of orb-hungriness. The purpose of this article is to compare and contrast the two leaders while highlighting their weaknesses and strengths.

Overview

You Yu and Sarasvati can be best categorized as glass-cannons. This means that they are able to deal a amazing amount of damage at the cost of no HP/RCV multiplier. Thus, they are at the mercy of dungeon mechanics when they are unable to sweep the floor/activate. The lack of HP can be compensated through coop and that does help address that weakness. However, you will still need to find a way to heal up after an attack or bring some sort of sub dedicated to utility to compensate.

You Yu – 300k MP Monster Review and Analysis

Introduction

You Yu, or Bamboo, is the third released card of the Four Gentlemen series (300,000 MP monster) and pushes the boundaries on the next level of powercreep in terms of damage output. Capping out at 156.25x ATK on a mono colour team allows you to deal spectacular damage with the ability to control your output through a scaling multiplier. You will need to use Skill Inheritance to help address fragility and somewhat orb hungry nature, but that is the price to pay for explosive damage. Thankfully, you do not have to use numerous You Yu’s to form an effective team which is a nice change of pace from Xiang Mei Xiang Mei. However, the real question is: do you really need to purchase You Yu?
