How to Cascade Better: A Mantastic Guide

Introduction

Many people have asked me to make a combo/orb matching guide and your voices have been heard! Perhaps this will be the first in a series of videos dedicated to orb matching techniques. I am well aware that other notable community members have created helpful videos and I wish to try and something different by incorporating both a written and video guide to help convey my thoughts.

Just keep in mind that every player has their own orb matching playstyle and my techniques are based from my own experience and opinions. There are many ways to tackle a board and I simply wish to share my own knowledge to hopefully improve your own puzzling skills.

Video guide

As this is a guide on how to improve your matching skills, a large component will be done via video format but I will do my best to incorporate screenshots below for the various techniques I wish to highlight.

What are Cascades?

Cascade is a term used to describe a type of orb match in which you remove a different set of orbs to cause others to fall into place to trigger an additional combo. This differs from Skyfalls as these are planned matches that you manufacture from careful planning. Skyfalls occur by luck (although you can “help” them along) as new orb(s) fall into place to trigger additional combo(s). I categorize Cascades into three categories:

  • Line
  • Staircase
  • Elevator

A skilled player will utilize these formations to varying degrees and although you may not be able to use all of them every turn, it is wise to at least be aware of how they work and incorporate them as needed.

These will take time to master and you may wish to spend time in Endless Corridors practicing until they become second nature.

Why are Cascades important?

Cascades are used to help form matches that Continue reading How to Cascade Better: A Mantastic Guide

[Video] Liberty Geist Snow Globe Challenge featuring Sarasvati

Introduction

GungHo has been spoiling us with unique challenges these past few days with the currently active +297 Zeus Dungeon (my strategy and post can be found HERE) and now the Liberty Geist Snowglobe Challenge. In order to complete this challenge, you must use the Snowglobe Rouge you received in the mail (do not fuse away) and have him be a sub on your team (cannot be leader). Full rules are stated below:

Liberty quest

TLDR: Do not fuse that Snow Globe, use him on your team as a sub, complete in solo mode with no continues on either difficulty.

My team looks very unusual, but at least showcases ways to overcome the various mechanics. Outside of a flubbed combo on the boss, the run went relatively well.

Team roster

I used the exact same team for both Mantastic and Fantastic and only forgot to inherit an active onto Fantastic’s Snow Globe.

[Video] +297 Zeus Dungeon Clear and Strategies Guide

Introduction

North America has finally received the +297 Zeus “Gift” Dungeon today and it presents a unique challenge for players to overcome. I am well aware that there are many different teams that can clear this, but I wish to showcase how I have successfully cleared with my Dark Metatron dtron team along with my strategies and checklist of utility. Do note that this dungeon must be completed in solo mode.

Video clear

Team used

I decided to go with my Dark Metatron team due to the colour advantage, ease in which to activate her multiplier, and ample Skill Boosts Skill Boost to allow for the much needed Skill Inheritance actives being ready in time. For reference, Dark Metatron forms a 2.25x HP / 36x ATK team when under 50% HP. I also used the +5% Attack Imp ATKAwoken Badge as it was the one that provided the most benefit. My subs were mostly chosen for their synergy with each other through Skill Inheritance as well as being my strongest options.

Dungeon mechanics

+297 Zeus is a reasonably tricky dungeon as it has numerous mechanics that can trip up the average team and careful planning is critical to avoid failure. Universally, every team requires: Continue reading [Video] +297 Zeus Dungeon Clear and Strategies Guide

[Videos] Fighting Radar Dragons

Introduction

I play a lot of Arena 3 and try my best to always record my Radar Dragon encounters as there is very little documentation available as very few players are able to successfully clear on a repeated basis. In addition, I also try to stream while making my Arena attempts so you should check out my Twitch Twitch page every Monday and Thursday at 6pm PST. Please refer to my Arena 3 Guide I posted earlier for a full breakdown of the fight.

Videos

Hephaestus Dragon

By far the most magical thing I have ever done in my entire PAD career. Just WOW
—

Zeus Dragon

Arguably one of the easiest dragons to face and is the most universally approachable for the various leaders that can clear Arena 3.

Conclusion

Arena 3 is a special place. Anything can happen and you will witness many Myracles if you continue to follow my website!

[Videos] Myr VS Noah Dragon, Parvati, Vishnu, and Hera Dragon

Introduction

In my previous post, I go into detail of my strategies I use to clear Arena 3 along with my lack of luck with acquiring the Radar Dragons. However, that all changed tonight on my Twitch Twtich Stream (I go live every Monday and Thursday at 6pm PST) where I finally got Noah Dragon to drop! I guess all it took for the GungHo Gods to smile down upon me was to write a guide to help everyone else!

Videos

As a fair warning, there may be some inconsistent issues with sound as I am uploading from my Twitch Stream and there may be copyright issues.

Noah Dragon

I kindly skipped the 95 turns of stalling beforehand =)

Parvati & Vishnu

Helpful for those who are contemplating how to handle these absorbs

Hera Dragon

2 million absorb = 1 million light damage. Skyfalls are not my friend

Conclusion

I should stream Arena 3 runs more often! But in all seriousness, this was the first time a Radar Dragon has ever dropped and I am pretty happy about it. Hopefully these videos prove helpful for those venturing into the dangerous waters that are Arena 3.

Star Justice Cheese Team

Introduction

Justice, Demands Retribution! Well maybe Uther said it better, regardless, Star Justice Descended goes live tonight in Tandem with the official GungHo stream. To make this stream extra exciting, they have organized a special coop challenge that pits players against each other for Fantastic rewards.

A tale of Antonio and Mantastic

Tonight, I had the pleasure of being paired with the infamous Antonio and together, we managed to devise a strategy to tackle this challenging dungeon with minimal stress and skill. We do need to take a little gamble of only 80% skill bind resistance as neither of our teams are very invested or well developed. Antonio is severely lacking in skill ups and we had to use careful planning to ensure all of our actives would be ready in time. I still wish he dressed up as Lifeguard Odin.

Team roster

Antonio
A Liu Bei Cerebrus Rider Light Zhuge Liang Raphael Ult Zeus Dios

Mantastic
A Liu Bei Hera-Is Bankai Yamato Ult Zeus Dios Ult Zeus Dios

Many of the subs were chosen for their skill boosts to help Antonio have his actives ready in time and would otherwise not be included. Key components to successfully run Star Justice include:

  • 25%+ Gravity
  • Cerebrus Rider to kill Zeal on floor 3
  • Raphael (or Thanatos Thanatos) to survive the 1% execution on the final floor
Strategy

Below is a floor-by-floor breakdown of our active and turn usage to successfully clear Star Justice. We had to pray for the 80% SBR to work. Also, Antonio creates the room to allow us an extra turn.

[Video] Wadatsumi Top 2% Score

Introduction

I managed to record my top 2% ranking score by using Sumire Ult Sumire paired with You Yu You Yu. I am not sure if I will be able to achieve a top 1% score this time, but this was one of my first few attempts and do have room for improvement.

Video

I could min-max better, but this is still a solid performance:

Mantastic Wada

Points to improve upon

When using You Yu as either your friend or your own leader, you need to keep in mind his Balance Killer Balance killer awakening and how he will deal 3x damage to the final boss. Furthermore, you are forced to combo on Wadatsumi any way. Thus, you should be trying to hit the damage cap there instead of on floors with the fire bosses. As such, you can then sweep the easier floors with fewer combos/actives and improve your speed. I decided to swap out my plus-less Skuld for my +297 I&I I&I to provide 2x damage and assist in hitting the 40 million required.

Fantastic Score

I decided to use Yomi Dragon Yomi Dragon for Fantastic due to a less ideal Sumire / You Yu pairing. Furthermore, Fantastic has an Eschamali Eschamali and Goetia Goetia for the numerous dark orb enhances. 36x ATK is still respectable, but it requires more effort to hit the damage cap and I brought Oku Oku to ensure I could hit 40 million on the second floor as I lack a Haku Haku / Akechi Akechi combo.

Fantastic Wada

That was perhaps a bit too much damage and it did cost me additional time.

Conclusion

5 orb, 1 enhance reigns supreme in this ranking tournament due to the removal of Shiva Dragon Shiva D and the fire absorption. I am uncertain if I could achieve another crown this time around as the lack of consistency for both teams hinders my performance. Sometimes I wish I had bought You Yu just for easy ranking crowns.

Let me know what you are using and how well you are scoring.

[Video] Myr VS Arena 3, Floors 17+

Introduction

Following up on my first Arena 3 clear this morning, I decided to record my subsequent playthrough and boy was it Myraculous. Myr Miru is my current favourite team to play and I feel a strong attachment in my heart, although that could be the heart crosses talking. Regardless, Myr has 49x ATK and a 75% damage reduction shield when matching a heart cross and can stack either TPA TPA or Light Rows Light Row while heavily benefiting from numerous enhanced light orb +light orb awakenings. Sidenote, have you ever seen a more Mantastic face before?

Video

This had to be one of the most challenging end floor spawns I have ever encountered and it was quite Myracle I am still alive to tell the tale. Despite the long playtime, it is actually quite exciting to watch and I hope it is both entertaining as well as informative:

Noteworthy Screenshots

I guess a too long, didn’t watch version. They kind of spoil the excitement of the video. Continue reading [Video] Myr VS Arena 3, Floors 17+

[Video] Mythic Plus Linthia VS Liu Bei/Australis

Introduction

Push-Button teams have become all the rage lately due to their speed and efficiency when clearing content. They have mostly been regulated to farming Tamadra or PreDRA Infestation as a means to squeeze in as many runs as possible within a small time frame; however, with the introduction of Awoken Liu Bei A Liu Bei, Push-Button teams are now able to tackle some Mythic Plus content with the right set up and planning. If you have not already, I encourage you to read my Awoken Liu Bei Analysis article for more information.

Video

Clear times are significantly faster when I am not explaining myself etc. If you are using a less than ideal team like mine, be sure to experiment and test to ensure you deal enough damage.

The fact I have to combo on the first few floors is simply outrageous.

My team

Mantastic has had quite lackluster luck with the REM (even after spending 210 stones on the most recend 5x GFE event) and is lacking a Liu Bei to form the ideal 64x team. As such, I decided to pair my Australis Australis with Fantastic’s Liu Bei to form a 32x ATK (40x ATK on Australis) team.

Lintha team

As you can see, my team is quite underdeveloped outside of the max-skilled Zeus Dios Ult Zeus Dios as the monster levels do not matter in Rouge Descends due to everyone starting at level 1.

[Videos] 55 Million Downloads Godfest Pulls

Background

As promised tonight on my Twitch Stream, here are the video records from my 55 Million Downloads 5x GFE Godfest. I had to split it into 2 videos as my stream decided to take a break and restart and the highlight cropping feature needs a live stream to work. Despite my rolls, I still have my Pretty Pancaaake

Videos

Part 2

My rolls

As many of you may be reading on your commute or in non-wifi zones, here is a compilation of my rolls prior to selling/evolving.

Mantastic, 42 rolls:

GF rolls combined

What I am happy about:
  • Gadius Gadius if I did not already own 2 (4 now) as he is a great assistant for Miru Miru
  • Vitra Vritra who will be my first step towards a push-button team
  • Ryune Ryune x2 is not something I should complain about as it is a very powerful SI card or 50k MP (I already have a penta-max one so this makes 3…)
  • Typhon Typhon is my 8th lifetime 6-star and is new for me so that is something to be happy about. If his special Cross evolution comes to North America, he may gain more uses; however, I still do not own Akechi so my options are still limited.
  • Ult Sumire Sumire #3 allows me to complete the haste system if I chose to run him over Myr Miru as Fantastic also managed to roll their first Sumire
  • Zeta Hydra Zeta-Hydra is the best silver egg I could ever hope for as they provide 5 turns of delay on a 20-turn cooldown. Potential for Skill Inheritance
  • Balboa Balboa is a sometimes desired sub on Awoken Liu Bei A Liu Bei team (another card I do not have) for his 100% damage void. I may find a way to use him as an inherit or if I run my Australis Australis with Liu Bei from Fantastic. Niche at best
  • Sun Quan Sun Quan is another potential delay I could inherit as prior to this Godfest I was lacking any
  • Sherias Sherias may not be Sherias Roots Sherias Roots; however, it is another Light Kali Kali style delay that may give me more options for SI.
  • Urd Verd Urd & Verdandi complete my Norn collection and they are also amazing assistants for Inheritance.
  • Saria Saria is perhaps the ONLY card I will be using for my Myr team (as the third best option for board changer behind my non-existant Wedding Gadius W Gadius and Apocalypse Uevo Apoc) and at least helps round out my team better. I have already Penta-maxed her with HP latents.
