GungHo Collab REM Review and Analysis – September 2018

Introduction

Monday marks the debut of the GungHo Collab Rare Egg Machine along with part 2 of the event. As a whole, the GH REM is reasonable, but not necisarily game breaking along with costing 6 Magic Stones per roll.

On the bright side, rolling rates for 6/7* are quite promising (total of 32% in JP) which is partially attributed to the sheer number of cards available. Finally, players will be able to utilize the Monster Exchange System to trade in for a 7* card of their choice.

This article will summarize each card’s strengths and weaknesses to help you make a more informed decision of whether or not to roll.

September 15 – 16 Godfest Review Plus Saline Debut Commentary

Godfest Basics

The format for Godfests has been dramatically changed through their REM Renewal along with Full Disclosure of Rolling Rates. These changes dramatically improve your chances of rolling a specific card as the pool of available monsters is significantly smaller as only a portion of the all possible monsters are featured at a given time. This is great news for players as you are better able to focus your Magic Stones on key cards.

Godfests no longer advertise “rate increases” and instead Highlighted specific cards along with 6/7* Godfest Exclusives being available. As such, these events are the best time to roll the REM as the current meta is heavily favouring these rare and elusive monsters.

Rolling rates may change or vary with each Godfest event and some 6/7* GFE may have higher rolling rates. Always check the rolling rates before proceeding.

Introduction

Saturday  marks the return of our bi-monthly Godfests and features the debut of the highly anticipated Saline . Saline is a brand new 7* Godfest Exclusive and will be a top prize card for many players as she is able to boost rank experience gained by 1.8x. While this may look strange on paper, it is invaluable for higher ranking players or those who wish to chain rank ups more easily.

Unfortunately, Saline will be arriaving in a lackluster Godfest that only features 17 GFE. This has become the norm and makes current Godfests significantly worse compared to a few months ago simply because the number of featured GFE is smaller. As such, it may be best to skip this Godfest and wait for an event where GFE are better featured.

Furthermore, JP just had a massive Dragonbound & Dragon Caller (DBDC) renewal that introduced new cards and significant buffs to existing cards. For the most part, DBDC is one of the best special REMs to roll in as it features the strongest line up of lowest rarity cards and is only rivaled by Monster Hunter. This event should be coming to NA in about 2 months time along with heavy speculation of a 7-star Super Godfest beforehand.

This article will summerize the featured line up along with providing a review of Saline.

Official announcement can be found HERE.

Godfest overview

Unlike Godfests of the past, only some 6/7* GFE will be featured. If they are listed as unavailable, you will be unable to roll them during the event.

September 15 – September 16 Godfest
6/7* GFE available

    3370 3236
3268

6/7* GFE not available

         3233
  2991

You ideally wish to line up a Godfest that overlaps with several key targets to improve your overall chances of success. Thus, it may be advantageous to wait for a more opportune Godfest if the current one does not feature enough key targets.

Based on the revealed rolling rates of previous Godfests, 6* GFE will have 0.6% hit rate whereas the 7* had 0.5%. With that being said, some GFE may feature an increased rate and you simply have to check the displayed rolling rates each time.

Looking at the past few Godfests, it appears that the trend is now to include two 7* and fifteen 6* GFE which is significantly lower compared to before. We used to have twenty 6* and one 7* which makes the overall rolling rates for hitting any 6/7* GFE lower.

Dark Kali , Kami , Fenrir Viz , Green Sonia , and Blue Sonia  have not been featured for the second time in a row. Continue reading September 15 – 16 Godfest Review Plus Saline Debut Commentary

GungHo Pal Egg Machine – Why You Should Roll

Introduction

The revamped GungHo Pal Egg Machine (PEM) is now live in North America and is a wonderful place to spend your Pal Points.

By comparison to the Rare Egg Machine, the PEM is a “free” way to acquire valuable cards. Players are able to acquire Pal Points much faster than Magic Stones and can farm them through Best Friends or special events. As such, it would be wise to utilize Pal Points in this event to acquire the new cards as they can provide value for most Monster Boxes.

This article will highlight the more ideal rolls and what players should be aiming for.

Pal Point farming/usage

Pal Points are generated every day for just logging in along with being granted after using a friend in a dungeon. There is a limit of 99 Pulls that can be stored at a given time, but one can also save Pal Points in their Mailboxes for 60 days. Continue reading GungHo Pal Egg Machine – Why You Should Roll

[First Impressions] DBDC Buffs + New Cards & Sonia, Ney, Cotton, and More Buffs

Introduction

On my YT YouTube channel, I often release First Impression Videos that summarize my initial thoughts on new content being released in JP if it is significant/meaningful overall.

As such, I decided to chime in my thoughts on the new Dragonbound & Dragon Caller cards along with significant buffs to existing cards. While this video can be educational, it is also an indication that DBDC will be coming back to North America in 2-3 months. As such, it may be wise to save your Magic Stones as it is arguably the highest value event in Puzzle and Dragons.

Video

I forgot to mention that players can use the Monster Exchange to acquire 7* DBDC cards by trading in 5 rare Collab cards (7*+). This is an outrageously high cost and will not be applicable for the vast majority of the player base. With that being said, it can help those who have either been lucky or rolled excessively clean out their unwanted rare cards for something truly valuable.

Conclusion

Dragonbound & Dragon Caller should be coming back to North America in 2-3 months time so one may wish to start saving Magic Stones for this exciting event.

Let me know what you think about the new cards along with sizable buffs to Sonia, Ney, and Cotton.

Happy Puzzling!

Sunken Serpent Labyrinth Clear Videos

Introduction

Sunken Serpent Labyrinth is an old challenge dungeon set that has come back for the second time and will give players the chance to acquire 10 Magic Stones along with various other rewards for each floor cleared.

While the each floor is still challenging, it has become much easier due to the introduction of new and powerful leaders. As such, players should be able to clear more this time around.

This post will include my various clears from both events to help provide some insight on how one can approach these dungeons.

The dungeon tab says GIFT but that is misleading and the GIFT is to signify that it can only be cleared once and can only be done in solo mode

Floor 9
Floor 8
Level 7

Conclusion

Sunken Serpent Labyrith is an exciting event that has lucrative rewards across all levels. It is worth trying to clear as many floors as possible as each one yields a Magic Stone along with another prize.

Let me know what you think about these dungeons and what teams you used in the comments below.

Happy Puzzling!

GungHo Collab Arrives in NA – MP Cards, Monster Exchange, & Dungeon Review

Introduction

GungHo is a large company that makes numerous games outside of Puzzle and Dragons with this event celebrating all their titles for the next 2 months. As such, the content will be released in a staggered format that will try to bring excitement for the next 60 days.

There will be 2 new MP cards, 2 new cards in the Monster Exchange (with the REM cards also being available at a later date), numerous Pal Egg Machine buffs/additions, special dungeons, and an exclusive Rare Egg Machine. Just note that not all of these will be available right away as they will be released in a staggered manner.

This article will summarize all of the new content coming out this Saturday with the PEM and REM being covered in separate posts as they will be released at a later date. With that being said, one should start saving their Pal Points as some of the cards are quite valuable.

750,000 MP cards

During the GungHo Collab, players will be able to spend 750,000 Monster Points to gain a new card util October 31st. This price tags puts them on par with Dark Athena  and Amen  so it would not be a far stretch to hope these new cards would be able to add at least a similar level of power to your Monster Box. Rolling rates may change or vary with each Godfest event and some 6/7* GFE may have higher rolling rates. Always check the rolling rates before proceeding.

Introduction

Friday marks the return of our bi-monthly Godfests and the upcoming one is average at best. This is because it does not feature exceptionally boosted rates along with only 17 featured 6/7* GFE. This appears to be the new norm for Godfests moving forward which is a step back from the 21-22 featured ones from a couple of months ago. In addition to my regular review, I will also be including my previous Madoo  /  commentary for those who missed it.

Another reason to avoid this Godfest is the potential for an upcoming 7-themed Super Godfest that was not tied to a specific date/anniversary. This means there is a strong likelihood NA will receive something similar in 2 months (no confirmation, just speculation). As such, it would be wise to skip this Godfest in favour of saving Stones for more promising events.

You Yu Tournament Strategies

Introduction

The You Yu Tournament is another Ranking Dungeon where players will be able to use a fixed team in pursuit of obtaining a Crown (3%) and You Yu  prize (20%).

The notion of using a fixed team is always exciting as it puts players on an even footing as there is not Monster Box advantage. With that being said, fixed teams can also be frustrating as skyfalls can play a major role along with potentially utilizing an unfamiliar play style. In the case of the You Yu Tournament, the only foreign matching pattern is the 3×3 Heart Box matched on the final floor to trigger FUA2 . Unfortunately, the dungeon is riddled with RNG/luck hurdles and can be quite frustrating to play.

This article will outline strategies for achieving a high score along with tips and tricks for the dungeon at hand.
