Monster Point Dragons: Analysis and Comparisons

The topic of which Monster Point Dragon to buy is on the forefront of many player’s minds as it is a large investment. Furthermore, as the game progresses and we accumulate more duplicates to sell, new players will be reaching the elusive 300k MP needed to make their first purchase. However, one should not be rash in decimating their monster box as these powerful dragons need the right subs to function properly. If you are having second thoughts or doubts about selling a particular monster, the answer is probably no and you must exercise patience and simply wait. Furthermore, your MP Dragon team does need an investment in levels, skill ups, and pluses to be truly powerful. Lastly, they require 10 million experience to max level, 99 team cost, and have challenging evolution materials.

I have omitted any farmable subs as those can be acquired over time. If you are missing many key subs required to run their team effectively, it may be wise to to delay purchasing as you may be running a sub-par line up otherwise. For a more expansive list that includes farmable monsters, refer HERE.

jjjjjjjjjjjjjjj  Shiva D
SHIVA DRAGON
About  Shiva D is perhaps the king of farming leads as he offers an unconditional 25x multiplier to fire gods. Shiva D can either focus on rows Fire Row or two prong attacks TPA to quickly mow down bosses. However, he somewhat falters in the highest level content due to a less dynamic sub pool, no bind immunity, and a weak active that places heavy emphasis on strong subs. Lastly, Shiva D is an easy way to score in the top 10% (or even 1%) of ranking dungeons.
Pros
  • Fastest farming lead in the game
  • Unconditional 25x ATK multiplier for fire gods
  • 2.25x RCV for fire gods
  • Capable of scoring in the top 10% of ranking tournaments with ease
Cons
  • 2-turn haste active places higher demand on ideal subs
  • Subs should almost always be orb changers as you effectively only have 4 actives
  • Can be bound (which is becoming more of an issue with pre-emptive leader binds)
  • Very REM dependent
Key Subs to Own Yamato Uriel Red Valk Set Ares Ares Ares Antares Ame Sanada Urd

Fire rows Fire Row are critical for large burst and the 3 Ares Ares are not a typo as you can run up to 3 with success.

Thoth & Sopdet 5×4 Latent Resist Farming Strategies

Now that the weekend has passed and with it my favourite descends to farm on 10x, I have turned my morning stamina to playing Thoth & Sopdet 5×4 from the coin dungeons in hopes of acquiring the 1% light resist Tamadra Light Resist . 5×4 descends are much more challenging than their regular counterparts as you face the same bosses/mechanics, but on a smaller board. This automatically cuts down on viable leaders to use, but you can find a handy reference list I created HERE of strong 5×4 leads.

Aside from the invading Light Resist , the major hurdle of this descend is a 5-combo shield put up by Sopdet. Normally 5 combos should not be an issue, but in a 5×4 dungeon, it can be quite challenging Continue reading Thoth & Sopdet 5×4 Latent Resist Farming Strategies

PAD is love, Plus Eggs are Life

PAD playtime

10x descends is quite hectic and I may be going a little overboard at the moment. I am actually closing my eyes and seeing the plus egg drop and that wonderful *ding* noise along with using different fingers to prevent fatigue. Perhaps it is the sign of madness, but I have also farmed ~1,000 plus eggs across both accounts over the course of these 2 days. After the weekend, things will begin to slow down again as my 2 favourite dungeons, Kanetsugu Desc Kanetsugu and Hera Sowilo Hera-Sowilo, end their rotation (however, Hera Sowilo does return next Sunday).

I chose to play Kanetsugu Desc and Hera Sowilo because they offer a wonderful amount of rank exp along with 5-6 plus eggs on average per run. I prefer this over Almight God Zeus or the other push button farm dungeons because I lack a push button team and it feels more wasteful due to less plus eggs and no collateral benefits. For more information, feel free to check out my chart detailing plus egg rates and exp/stamina in the more popular descends HERE.

Hopefully everyone still has their sanity and is reaching their plus egg goals/target.

U&Y vs Scarlet Descended

Scarlet Descended is still the scariest descend available and for good reason. She grants hardly any monster experience due less floors than other rogue descends as well as each floor giving less levels. This results in your team being severely underleveled by the time you reach the 7 million health boss. This is where plus eggs comes into play as they provide their full benefit regardless of monster level. Furthermore, the dungeon is very unforgiving as most things can execute you if you fail to deal enough damage along with very large health pools.

Scarlet Team
The winning team

I chose to go with my Umisachi Yamasachi U&Y team because the later floors become easier due to colour preference of water > red. However, this made floor 2 and 3 very difficult as you face high health green monsters and your team is very low level. My general strategy was: Continue reading U&Y vs Scarlet Descended

5×4 Latent Resist Farming Teams

Thoth & Sopdet 5×4 is one of the descends available through the coin dungeon shop that offers us the opportunity to farm the 1% light resist Latent Tamadra Light Resist . These Latent Tamadra become invaluable at higher levels of play as it grants the opportunity to survive attacks that would kill us otherwise. 1% resistances prevent death via 100% gravity attacks and it is worthwhile to have a monster with the full rainbow resistance to be immune to all 100% elemental attacks.

However, acquiring these can be tricky as most players do not have 20k Monster Points readily available and 5×4 boards can be challenging due to fighting the same challenging descend on a smaller board. The boss’s health and damage remain unchanged and many conventional teams will struggle with 20 orbs. Continue reading 5×4 Latent Resist Farming Teams

Noah Ranking Dungeon Top 5 Percent Scores

As a follow up to my previous POST discussing my initial strategies and team building for Noah Tournament, I wanted to share my first few successful attempts. I decided to go with Yomi Dragon Yomi Dragon on both accounts due to the lateness of the hour and ease in which I can play through the dungeon.

Mantastic speed

Lilith Lilith is critical to the success of the team because she is needed to counter the PreDRAs Fire PreDRA on floor 4 and is max skilled to 10 turn cooldown. As such, my team requires at least Continue reading Noah Ranking Dungeon Top 5 Percent Scores

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day is a time for love, kindness, affection, chocolate, flowers, etc. However, I want to take a step back from all the conventional societal standards and focus on something we all love and care for: Puzzle and Dragons as the only GF we need is 4x GFE ;). Everyone has a certain monster that they cannot live without; whether it be your starting roll, wonderful waifu, or hunky husbano, there is something enchanting about our favourite monster. Our love may be strongly tied to their art work as it is one of the strongest connections to our monster box. Unlike other video games, our monsters do not move or talk, but we still cherish them just the same.

For myself, I have an irrational love for Sakuya  Sakuya  Continue reading Happy Valentine’s Day!

Noah Tournament Ranking Dungeon Strategies

I thought we would have had more time to rest and relax after the last ranking dungeon, but the North American GungHo staff may have been affected by the 3 minute stamina buff and are firing out content left right and centre. Regardless, the Noah Tournament Ranking Dungeon is the fourth in the ranking dungeon series and has the No Dupes restriction. No Dupes has become easier to manage as the restrictions only apply to your own team and not your friend’s leader. This means you can still bring matching leaders and has eased team building and theory crafting. However, with ranking dungeons, we are not simply concerned with finishing the dungeon, but with scoring as high as possible. I failed to achieve the top 1% from the Cauchemar Tournament, but averaged top 2% over the course all 3 ranking dungeons to date. As such I wish to share my thoughts and strategies to help my fellow Puzzle and Dragoners in achieving a new personal best. Continue reading Noah Tournament Ranking Dungeon Strategies
