[First Impressions] Massive QoL, Thank-You Festival, New 7* GFE, new GFE/Pantheon Evolutions, plus 200 Free Magic Stones

Introduction

JP just finished their massive PAD stream in which they announced/released countless new content. As part of my YT YouTube channel, I try my best to deliver First Impression videos fo the new content to better prepare my North American audience for things to come.

Generally speaking, NA is 2-3 months behind JP but this can vary based on events so nothing is guaranteed.

My thoughts have been split into two separate videos as each one features a hefty amount of content.

Video commentary

QoL & Thank-You Event

Notable highlights include UI improvements with the ability to see inherits on a team including with stats/awakenings, new cosmetic Orb skins, Super Godfest, ability to gain one of three new 7* GFE, and 200 Magic Stones.

If intending to roll in the Godfest, do not acquire your free 7* GFE until after to avoid rolling a duplicate.

New 7* GFE, Mega Evolutions, and Reincarnated forms for Pantheons cards

Notable highlights include the new 7* GFE, Baldin + Sherias Roots Mega forms, Reincarnated Lucifer (not Archangel), and buffs for Uriel and Gabriel.

Conclusion

The news coming in from JP is incredibly exciting as it will help usher PAD into a new era with QoL improvements along with the ability to acquire a powerful card for free.

Generally speaking, NA gains JP content 2-3 months later but maybe something exciting will be teased on the NA stream on Friday evening.

Let me know which of these features you find most exciting along with how you plan to prepare your Monster Box moving forward.

[First Impressions] Full Metal Alchemist Return with Buffs & Assist Evolutions

Introduction

On my YT YouTube channel, I often do First Impression videos of new content being released in JP in hopes of informing the NA player base to help us make better decisions moving forward.

Generally speaking, we are 2-3 months behind JP for most events and being able to see into the future can help us make an informed decision as what to do with our Magic Stones and resources.

As such, the Full Metal Alchemist is returning and we should be able to expect the same thing in the future as we did enjoy the Collab in the past. Furthermore, players will be able to utilize the Monster Exchange system to acquire and 6-star card.

Video commentary

In essence, all cards received the ability to be Limit Broken and Super Awoken which dramatically improves their weighted stats and viability in solo mode. Unfortunately, this will mostly only apply to the top rarity cards who also received sizable buffs and a Weapon Assist form.

Through their Weapon Assist forms, each gains more value as a duplicate and gives players more options if lacking key Monster Hunter inherits.

In regards to buffs, the most noticeable one is to Edward  who is able to gain a third 7 Combo 45 as a Super Awakening along with buffing his Leader Skill from 144x ATK to 196x. This is a massive jump in both personal damage and team damage and should help bring him back up to speed with current top tier leaders.

Conclusion

The Full Metal Alchemist revival grants sizable buffs to the top rarity cards along with being able to acquire them via the Monster Exchange. The main appeal of Edward is his team building flexibility as he can use any card while having a powerful damage reduction component.

A more formalized review will occur when the cards are being released in North America.

Let me know what you think of the buffs and changes in the comments below.

[Video/Brief Overview] Halloween Rare Egg Machine

Introduction

The Halloween event comes as a small surprise as we will be receiving it alongside JP at the appropriate time. This is wonderful as we are able to jump on the hype train as it departs the station along with potentially having a stronger card 2-3 months before we normally would.

With that being said, the Halloween REM follows the trend of most 5-stone Collab and Seasonals: lackluster for almost all of the rolls except for 1-2 at the very top. This heavily promotes the usage of the Monster Exchange system in order to acquire the top prizes instead of vainly wasting Magic Stones to roll terrible low rarity cards.

Due to my own hectic schedule this weekend along with personal/health issues, I am not able to produce a full fledged review but my thoughts are summarized in the following video and written recap.

Video commentary

Video summary

The general gist of the video is that the new Cotton is an amazing card as she features triple 7 Combo 45 plus double TPA TPA (along with FUA )which makes her have 18x personal damage. Furthermore, her Leader Skill grants her 144x ATK / 68.36% damage reduction when hitting 7 or more Combos along with Light and Dark combos. 7 Stone Super Godfest is Here and you Should Probably Roll

Introduction

The highly anticipated Lucky 7’s Super Godfest (SGF) has finally arrived in North America! This will most likely be the the best event for the rest of 2018 aside from the return of Dragonbound & Dragon Caller REM (DBDC, coming soon). As such, this imposes a small conundrum for players: spend Magic Stones here or in the revamped DBDC event.

While there is no perfect/universal answer that is applicable to every player, a reasonable word of advice would be roll SGF if one already has a good chunk of DBDC cards (most notably the 5-stars) and roll in DBDC if missing the valuable 5-stars.

Of course, your individual goals, Monster Box, and needs will vary so take that piece of advice with a grain of salt.

Regardless, this is a fantastic place to spend your hard-earned Magic Stones and the following article will explain why this event is better than a regular Godfest despite the 7-stone cost per roll.

Official announcement can be found HERE.

MAKE SURE YOU ACTUALLY PRESS THE SGF MACHINE AND NOT THE REGULAR REM WHEN ROLLING

Rolling video

SGF vs vanilla Godfests

The past several months have given us a general idea of what to expect from regular Godfests: disappointing rates with only approximately 10-11% chance of rolling a 6 or 7-star Godfest Exclusive (GFE) due to the fact that only 17 are featured at a time. Xiang Mei Ranking Dungeon Score Tracking

What is this?

I plan to pin the current daily NA Ranking Dungeon chart compiled by pandaa for the duration of the Ranking Tournament. Due to the fact that I am usually not awake at Midnight, it may take some time for the new current day to be added.

Generally speaking, NA tends to start significantly higher than JP on non-fixed teams as we are able to see the top strategies right away. This leads to much higher scores but also a faster plateau as players hit their maximum potential. With that being said, NA should be able to score higher on non-fixed teams due to the fact that we have more time to prepare and have the winning strategies already made.

On the other hand, being 2-3 months behind JP provides little benefit for Fixed Teams as the strategy is to usually just puzzle your way through.

Use these charts as a rough guideline for your own scores and possible rewards.

Current day NA cutoff for Crown: 152,646
JP Crown: 153,060

Current day NA cutoff for Rainbow Event Medal & Xiang Mei: 138,258
JP Event Medal: 140,039

Corresponding article detailing teams and strategies can be found HERE.

Xiang Mei Ranking Dungeon Strategies

Introduction

The Xiang Mei Ranking Dungeon is now live and will last from Thursday October 18-23 while featuring a No Skyfall Fixed Team.

This is not the first time that we have experienced this type of tournament and the main hurdle will be having sufficient combos present across the 5 floors. As such, each combo made is worth a sizable amount of points and is worth pursuing on each match.

Due to the fact that this is a Fixed Team with No Skyfalls, it is a pretty straightforward dungeon as the strategy is to essentially combo and pray for favourable boards.

Top 3% will receive a Crown while the top 20% will be awarded a Rainbow Event Medal :eventmedal: and Xiang Mei .

Score breakdown

In Ranking Dungeons, players are scored based on the following:

  • Each Combo is worth 5,000 points
  • Each second remaining is worth 500 points
  • Hitting 40 Million damage is 10,000 points
  • Each active used to kill a floor (no combo made) is -5,000 points

PAD Island REMDra Descended Arrives!

Introduction

Starting on Monday, October 8, the North American server will enjoy a beach-themed Gatcha-Dragon event in which players can participate for lucrative individual and server-wide rewards.

The event lasts for a week and comes in two difficulties with each one having a chance for an Egg MachineDra to spawn. Each successful clear with an Egg MachineDra appearance will count towards your personal progression as well as the server total and once certain thresholds have been met, rewards will be distributed.

This is a wonderful event as it gives players of various levels of progression the chance to grind towards something meaningful.

With that being said, there is the chance that players will receive 2 free pull in the Beach REM which means one should hold off on using the Monster Exchange system in case fortune smiles upon you.

Just be aware that the dungeon follows a Limited Time Dungeon (LTD) format so one must check each day to see their play times.

How it works

The Beach/PAD Island REMDra Descended functions like the previous REMDra event North America had last April in that players have the opportunity to play for both personal and server-wide rewards. Continue reading PAD Island REMDra Descended Arrives!

[JP] Coin Dungeons / Challenge Mode Disappearing Plus Egyptian 2 + Cthuga Evolutions

Introduction

On my YT YouTube channel, I often release First Impression Videos that summarize my initial thoughts on new content being released in JP and plan to make a stronger effort on my part to bring this information out on a regular basis.

The main key point of this video is that the Coin Dungeon and Challenge Mode will be disappearing in October for JP (so 3-4 months time for NA). This means any uncleared level will be a lost Magic Stone. This is done to make room for new content but that content has yet to be determined.

TLDR clear your Coin Dungeons and Challenge Modes.

Video

Conclusion

Dragonbound & Dragon Caller should be coming back to North America in 2-3 months time so one may wish to start saving Magic Stones for this exciting event.

Let me know what you think about the new evolutions along with how many Coin Dungeons and Challenge Modes you still have to do.

[Videos] October Monthly Quests: Level 8-10 Solo

Introduction

October is upon us and with it comes a new round of monthly quests. These dungeons are always interesting as it showcases different spawn combinations that can prove lethal if unprepared.

Clearing all of the quests will yield 2 Rainbow Event Medals :eventmedal: along with a Beach Valkyrie B Claire.

Level 10

The hardest part of Level 10 is resisting the urge to kill Floor 2 before your Leader has been swapped back. Failing to do so will result in Floor 3 doing their 99% gravity followed by a large attack which will end most runs unless some form of damage reduction is present.

Level 9

Level 9 features a Rogue-style system in that all your cards start at level 1. This means you will have significantly lower HP and may be in danger from DQ Hera preemptive of 46,238 along with invalidating any Super Awakenings if your card does not reach level 100. This can make your Super Awoken FUA  not work against Hino on floor 5.

Level 8

Level 8 features a terrifying Fixed Team that has a poor ATK multiplier and awakenings. Furthermore, players will only have 6 seconds to move orbs which can place constraints on your total combo count. Playing in coop grants additional HP which can make the dungeon potentially more forgiving along with access to a second board changer. For my run, I entered via coop and disconnected to save myself 40 stamina.

Conclusion

The October Monthly quests provide a fun play experience as it features an interesting Fixed Team along with unique spawn combinations that may prove challenging to the unprepared.

Let me know how you tackled these dungeons in the comments below.

Beach REM Review and Analysis – October 2018

Introduction

Ready for some fun in the sun? Ready to hit the beach with your new swim suit? I for one am personally forsaking the idea of having a beach body as it is nearly October and I cannot leave the house without a sweater. Regardless, the Beach REM returns to North America and comes with some new buffs/evolutions along with two brand new 8-star cards including Yog in a bikini!

Unfortunately, this event is horribly top heavy which may make players think twice before spending Magic Stones. With that being said, Beach Valkyrie B Claire has now become the October Quest monthly prize along with the 8-stars being available through the Monster Exchange system.

This article will summarize each card’s strengths and weaknesses to give you a better understanding of what is in store within this event.
