Coop/multiplayer dungeons were part of the newest update and allow players to team up with their friends to take on some new dungeons along with some of the most challenging descends. I spent a great deal of time playing with my best friend (donutdust) and Mom (MOMtastic) last night and it was the most fun I had in PAD in a long time. It helped that they both came to visit me and the room was filled with lots of laughter, cries of joy, and wonderful drops. Furthermore, with the advent of 3 minute stamina recharge and reduced stamina cost for entering dungeons in coop, we were able to play for a very long time. This had to be one of the most frustrating challenge 9‘s of late due to the no awoken skills restriction. I guess as compensation, we get to play on a 7×6 board, but without the lovely time extends, it is difficult to take full advantage. Thus I was left with a bit of a conundrum as how to safely approach and clear this dungeon. My usual Sakuya team may struggle to make sufficient combos along with not having access to my actives for many turns and the final 2 floors reducing light damage by 50%. The third ranking dungeon, Cauchemar Tournament, will debut after the Wednesday maintenance and will provide players another chance to test their puzzling skills for various rewards. However, what is perhaps the most appealing the top 1% of players will receive a crown beside their names. I have varied from top 1.2-2.3% for Zeus and Izanami without investing many runs as I was satisfied with the top 10% rewards. However, I want to achieve top 1% and wish to share my tentative strategies and pre-release thoughts.

Saria paired with Awoken Thor forms the powerful 2x HP / 14.06x ATK / 2.5x RCV tank team that is capable of clearing end game content. Mono-colour tank teams have made a resurgence in popularity because they are capable of absorbing massive attacks and thus not need to bring any form of damage mitigation, able to recover large amount of health due to the 2.5x recovery multiplier, and able to deal lethal damage by stacking row enhance awakenings along with built in damage enhancement. You will not see the spectacularly high numbers every turn that rainbow teams can produce, but instead are able to consciously control your damage as you are active reliant for damage output. Do note that just because your starting multiplier is only 14.06x, you can still burst like other high end leads because you are able to stack a single colour for damage along with specific actives and awakenings.

Coin dungeons now grant the opportunity to farm for the Latent Resist Tamadras in the 5×4 descend dungeons. Latent awakenings are a new type of awakening that is independent of your monster’s normal awakenings. Each monster can have a total of 5 latent awakenings that can be customized to your liking. They can either buff your monster’s HP (1.5%) , ATK (1%) , RCV (4%) , auto recovery (3% of RCV) , time extension (0.05s) , or 1% damage reduction for a specific colour . Granted the bonuses are small, but when your team is fully hypermaxed, any additional buff is welcomed. The 1% damage reduction latents cost 20k Monster Points and being able to farm them from 5×4 coin descends is a blessing.
After the frenzy that we had with 10x descends, farming plus eggs during 5x feels a bit sad. Don’t get me wrong, this is still a viable way to farm plus eggs, it mostly feels underwhelming due to the expectations that every drop will be a plus. Furthermore, we only have Zeus Mercury and Guan Yinping as viable descends to run this event as I would estimate the plus egg rate hovers at just under 50% based on the runs I have done in coin Hera-Sowilo.
Another patch of Godfest Exclusives (GFE) is being released and features the highly anticipated Eschamali , Scheat , and Australis . In all honesty, the GFE pantheon is becoming too crowded and making it much harder to acquire the ones you actually want. Godfests are now 2 day affairs and splits the GFE evenly between the 2 days. This can make it challenging to roll for your ideal godfest as the GFE cards you want may not be featured with the regular pantheons you are aiming for. Rambling aside, , , and are 3 new and powerful additions who actually feel worthy of the GFE title due to their amazing awakenings and heavily powercreeped actives that combine an enhanced skyfall mechanic with a double orb changer (as well as jammer and poison orbs) to their primary colour. Their viability as leads will be slow to start as we do not have access to enough machine cards and this post will mostly be focusing on their sub potential.
