Team Building for Blue Sonia

Introduction

Blue Sonia  is the first of what is presumed to be Mega Awoken evolutions for 6-star Godfest Exclusives (GFE). While most meta leaders tend to recycle the same pool of subs, Blue Sonia utlizes a completely different set of cards along with a interesting twist on Tank-oriented teams.

This article will summarize my thoughts and rationale for building a Blue Sonia team. However, team building is more about countering the dungeon mechanics and somewhat removes the notion of “perfect set ups.” As such, I find it best to understand how each sub functions as well as Blue Sonia’s strengths and weaknesses.

Super Godfest Descends

Introduction

North America will be gaining their first ever Super Godfest that will significantly change up the format. For this Godfest, players will be able to spend 6 Magic Stones for a guaranteed 6-star card. However, the available roster will not be exclusive to 6-star base cards and it will be possible to roll evolved 5-stars.

As such, it may not actually be as amazing as you may be led to believe. On the bright side, we are able to view JP’s line up as well as rolling rates and while we may not receive the exact same roster, it should be a general indication as to what we can expect.

The main drawback of this Godfest is that it comes on the heels of two 10-stone events.

Official announcement can be found HERE.

JP Rates

One side effect of being 2-3 months behind JP in terms of content is that we are able to “see into the future” to better plan our game play. This includes various evolutions, Monthly Quests, and various REM events. As such, we are able to see what JP had for their Super Godfest. Continue reading Super Godfest Descends

North America has finally gained access to the exciting Egg MachineDra. This event runs from Monday, April 23 until Sunday, April 29 and has two types of rewards: personal and server-wide.

However, as these are invades, their appearance is not guaranteed so one may have to attempt the same dungeon numerous times until one spawns.

This article will tell you everything you need to know about the Egg MachineDra Chalenge in order to not miss out on all of the Fantastic rewards available.

Official GHNA post can be found HERE.

Cotton Wins the MP Shop Survey! Do’s & Don’ts

Do not nuke your box for MP

Introduction

The Monster Point Shop Survey has come to a wonderful conclusion with Cotton  being the most voted card in NA! This if Fantastic as she is one of the most valuable and flexible cards in the game and there is no real downside in owning duplicates. By comparison, cards like Fujin  and Yog  are powerful, but are less valuable in duplicates or if owning a different Fujin-style active. Thus, Cotton is arguably the best card to have won the survey as players would not be disappointed when rolling more of her in the future.

This article will summarize Cotton’s power along with helping you decide which evolution is best for you and your Monster Box.

Unfortunately, Cotton will cost 1,000,000 MP to purchase which may place her out of reach for the average player and you should not nuke your box for MP. As such, this article will also help you decide who you can safely sell if you are close to the 1 million threshold. Just be aware that Cotton will only be available to purchase for a limited time.

1,000,000 Monster Points

Up to this point, the most expensive card for purchase from the MP shop was 750,000 and while this may seem daunting, older players will have probably acquired well over a million from just login bonuses. As such, there will be many players who are nearing the million MP cutoff and may be interested in purchasing Cotton. Continue reading Cotton Wins the MP Shop Survey! Do’s & Don’ts

Dragonbound & Dragon Caller REM Review and Analysis – April 2018

Introduction

Monday, April 23rd marks the exciting return of the highly coveted Dragonbound & Dragon Caller (DBDC) REM. DBDC is arguably the strongest event in Puzzle and Dragons due to it’s stellar line up and amazing value at the bottom rarity.

Most Seasonal events/Collabs have a few chase cards but tend to have middling value at the bottom. As such, there is often little collateral benefit in rolling those events. However, with DBDC, you actually want many of the Gold eggs which in turn makes it the ideal  place to spend your Magic Stones. If you have absolutely no cards from the REM you should be heavily rolling here as it will grant you cards that cannot be replicated anywhere else.

In addition to three new cards being added to the rolling roster, most of the older cards now gain the ability to Limit Break and gain Super Awakenings or stat improvements for the Weapon Assists.

These changes help ensure the machine stays exciting with the Super Awakenings giving the older cards significantly more value and versatility.

Despite having a wonderful roster, each roll will cost 10 Magic Stones but everything will sell for at least 15,000 Monster Points.

This article will summarize each card’s strengths and weaknesses in the current meta to help you determine if it is worth rolling in.

[PSA] Dragonbound & Dragon Caller REM Returns Monday, April 23

Title is somewhat self explanatory and official post can be found HERE. This is important because Dragonbound & Dragon Caller (DBDC) is arguably the best event in Puzzle and Dragons as it contains incredible value at the 5* rarity and having 2 of each is still reasonable overall. Furthermore, all the older cards gain Limit Breaking and Super Awakenings.

This would be the ideal  event to roll in for the vast majority of players and is worth saving stones for.

I will being work on my review tomorrow and should finish sometime on Sunday as it is a very time consuming process (a good estimate is if it took 1 minute for you to read it, it took an hour to write). If eager for more information, you can read about my older review HERE.

Amen, Mut, & Khonsu Review and Analysis – New 750,000 MP Cards

Introduction

Three new and somewhat exciting cards have been added into the Monster Point shop: Amen , Mut , and Khonsu . All three of them will cost 750,000 Monster Points and will be a sizable investment for the average player. As such, it is wise to make sure you can actually benefit from them and avoid buyer’s remorse. However, all 3 will have a unique Weapon Assist evolution which enables them to contribute awakenings if assisted.

With that being said, GungHo NA will be announcing the winner of the MP Shop Survey will be revealed on Friday, April 20th during their official Twitch stream. The winner will cost 1,000,000 Monster Points and will only be available for a limited time. Thus, it may be best to wait until you see what the winner is as it may influence your purchasing decision.

This article will summarize Amen, Mut, and Khonsu’s viability and how you can make the most out of their presence.

750,000 MP

Heroine REM Review and Analysis – April 2018

Introduction

This coming Monday marks the triumphant return of the immensely popular Heroine REM. However, to mark the celebration of it’s third inception, three new cards will be added along with all the older cards receiving Limit Break and Super Awakenings.

These changes help ensure the machine stays exciting with the Super Awakenings giving the older cards significantly more value and versatility.

It is my belief that Collabs/Seasonal REMs should have value at their lowest rarity to help ensure there is enough collateral benefits to rolling. As such, it is vital that the 5* cards make for strong consolation prizes.

Despite having a wonderful roster, each roll will cost 10 Magic Stones but everything will sell for at least 15,000 Monster Points.

This article will summarize each card’s strengths and weaknesses in the current meta to help you determine if it is worth rolling in.

[Small PSA] Reminder on how Limit Breaking and Super Awakenings Work

Introduction

GungHo NA ha released a massive amount of content last night that includes numerous changes to existing monsters that include new evolutions, Limit Breaking, and Super Awakenings.

This post is meant to be a gentle refresher on how Limit Breaking and Super Awakenings work. However, you can also read my full detailed guide HERE.

Video commentary

New content

Full details of the new content released can be found through the following GHNA Facebook links:

Super Awakenings/Limit Breaking

New Evolutions

Limit Breaking

Limit breaking is the process of raising a monster’s level beyond 99 can is accomplished by fusing a Super Snow Globe. However, only certain monsters qualify for Limit Breaking and is indicated by their Max Lvl text being blue:

From the above image, Goemon on the left cannot be Limit Broken but Yamato (right) can.

Thus, if you fuse a Super Snow Globe into Yamato, you will allow him to push beyond level 99. Just be aware that the experience required to bring a card to level 110 is exceptionally expensive from a monster experience point of view.

Super Awakenings

Super awakenings are a special process that enables a card to gain an additional awakening. This can dramatically improve a monster’s viability and is worth pursuing provided you mean the following criteria:

  • Must be Limit Broken (does not need to be level 110)
    • Not all cards can be Limit Broken
      • Not all Limit Broken cards can receive a Super Awakening
  • Already be +297
  • Sacrifice a +297 for a random Super Awakening
    • Can be any combination of pluses as long as it adds up to 297
  • Works only in solo mode

Provided you have already Limit Broken a card, you should see a [?] box beside the monster’s original awakenings. If this is present, you will be able to fuse a +297 to unlock one of three Super Awakenings.

Conclusion

Limit Breaking and Super Awakenings are an expensive investment but can enable you to push further into end game content. However, always make sure a card qualifies for either mechanic before investing resources.

On a side note, Heroine REM Review will be released this weekend.

Happy Puzzling!

April 14-15 Godfest Overview

 Godfest Basics

The format for Godfests has been dramatically changed through their REM Renewal along with Full Disclosure of Rolling Rates. These changes dramatically improve your chances of rolling a specific card as the pool of available monsters is significantly smaller as only a portion of the all possible monsters are featured at a given time. This is great news for players as you are better able to focus your Magic Stones on key cards.

Godfests no longer advertise “rate increases” and instead Highlighted specific cards along with 6* Godfest Exclusives being available. As such, these events are the best time to roll the REM as the current meta is heavily favouring these rare and elusive monsters.

Rolling rates may change or vary with each Godfest event and some 6* GFE may have higher rolling rates.

Introduction

The upcoming Godfest begins on April 14 and runs until April 15 and will once again feature twenty 6-star Godfest Exclusives. While the overall roster is reasonable overall, the GHNA Facebook page annoucned that Heroine REM will return this coming Monday.

With this in mind, it is better to hold off rolling in this Godfest and instead spend your Magic Stones on Heroine as it does hold numerous key and powerful cards. Just remember that Godfests will always be here and this current roster is average overall.

On a different note, the Twitch Stream will also announce the winner of the MP Survey which may also influence the decision to roll in future Godfests. On a somewhat side note, if you are desperate for MP, Heroine has a better ratio of MP to Stone consumption if selling off rolls.

As with any Godfest, the decision of whether to roll or not will be dependent on your own Monster Box and individual needs.

You can read the most recent Godfest review HERE. Continue reading April 14-15 Godfest Overview
