New Content Update – April 25, 2017

Introduction

In a small and surprising update, we received new Reincarnated Evolutions for several popular cards. For the most part, reincarnating a card is the best thing to do as they are bumped up to 1,000 weighted stats, additional awakenings, and triple typing. As such, you should be pursuing them almost all the time and the only real exception at the moment is Haku .

This article will provide a brief summary/thoughts on each of the featured cards in this content update. As a side note, you should be using 0-stamina Normals to abuse Legendary Earth for endless monster experience to level up all of these cards.

New evolutions

New evolutions are some of the most exciting aspects of Puzzle and Dragons as it breathes new life into old cards and hopefully revitalizes their viability.

Set

Like the other Egyptian 2 cards, Set gained a split evolution that removed all of this TPA to gain dual 7 combo awakenings as well as changing his sub attribute to Light from Wood. From a purely damage perspective, dual 7 combo awakenings are more potent when achieving 7 or more combos, but ruin more mindless-farming builds that rely on minimal comboing. Voltron Collab Egg Machine Review and Analysis

Introduction

The Voltron Collab is an exclusive series coming to North America and this is the first time NA will be receiving cards that JP does not. This is a tremendous step in the right direction as it grants us the chance to acquire unique cards or at the very least, a re-skin of a Collab we would never be able to have.

Collaborations in Puzzle and Dragons are a costly process as GungHo has to secure licensing, hire artists, and design the cards from scratch. This is partially the reason why NA/EU does not gain access to all the exclusive JP Collabs as the costs would not justify the potential income.

Therefore, having Voltron gives us the chance to show GungHo how much support NA can muster as well as hopefully granting us the ability to fill in the Monster gaps.

Introduction

GungHo is releasing a new style of Director’s Carnival and is swapping out the Valkyries to make room for the Gala Exclusives. Normally the Gala Exclusives (Gemstones + Legendary Heroes) are restricted to their respective colour Gala/Carnival and having them all available at once is unique and interesting. However, how ideal is this Carnival when there is no complimentary Godfest and nothing else being featured at bolstered rates?

Pantheon & GFE Tier List – April 20, 2017

Introduction

I have essentially finished redoing all of my icons to include mouse over text to better help you reference each card without having to actually click them to open PADx. If any icon is incorrectly labelled, please let me know and I will make the changes accordingly.

It is my hope that this list will become a quick reference source for players who are newer to the game as they can quickly see where their new cards rank/place. Part of my desire to do this is from my starting journey in Fire Emblem Heroes and constantly referencing their respective tier list.

These opinions are my own and take into consideration the card’s value as a leader, sub, inherit, and possibly any niche role they fulfill. In order to rank in the highest tier, the card has to excel in their respective role and cannot feasibly be replaced by anyone else. This can also be thought of as a Best in Slot card and tends to have applications on the top tier teams. If a card has a split evolution path, I simply evaluate the best option possible.

The best of the best. These cards compromise a best in slot role on top tier teams. They are largely irreplaceable and tend to offer something unique that cannot be easily replicated. The Puzzle and Dragons community covers a wide range of platforms to inform, entertain, and educate the player base. All the subsequently mentioned resources are well worth a look as they provide content or points of view that differ from mine.

I plan on continuously updating this list every few months to keep you up to speed on the latest resources in the PAD community. I have also duplicated this post in my drop down menu at the top under Classic Help Guides. Let me know if I missed anyone and I will edit accordingly.

The ordering within each category is in no particular order; however, I place new additions to the list at the top to better help drive traffic to them. Furthermore, I try to categorize community members by their most notable platform, even if they have other mediums.

Discord

Discord is a text and voice chat platform that tends to be utilized by gamers. However, they are far more powerful than a simple chat room as they can help facilitate matchmaking, possess in-depth strategy guides, and help bring the community together. If you have not already, I highly encourage you to download and install Discord on your mobile device and/or desktop.

Awoken Liu Bei Server New

Liu Bei has quickly emerged to become the premier farming leader for the average player. Unfortunately, his relevancy is reliant on coop and you will actually have to find a partner and the ALB Discord Server is the best place to find them. Not only do they post strategy guides for all relevant dungeons, but you can quickly find a like-minded individual and button to your heart’s content. Challenge 8-10 Reincarnated Sakuya Clears

Introduction

Reincarnated Sakuya is live in North America and while she may be a frustrating leader to play, she still feels rewarding when you are able to trigger her full multiplier on a consistent basis. Below are my clears for Challenge 8-10. I used the same team for all of them as the subs itself are not that important and it is better to simply bring the required utility and time extends.

Conclusion

Reincarnated Sakuya does feel rewarding when you are able to hit her maximum potential, but her lack of consistency is her main downfall when combined with her rainbow activation.

Extravagant Easter Godfest Review, Tier List, and Analysis

Godfest basics

When making the decision to roll or save your magic stones, you need to determine if the featured pantheons can benefit or complement your teams. Chasing for one specific monster is unwise as you will most likely be disappointed and should ideally have Godfests that overlap with many target cards. Remember all monsters that come out of the REM will qualify for Skill Inheritance so do not be too hasty when selling dupes. For a more detailed team building help, please refer to my Popular Leader’s and their Full Sub List Post which is in the process of being updated. Lastly, to find more information about a specific pantheon or monster, refer to my Master List to better refine your search. If you are considering to purchase any of the Monster Point cards, please refer to my updated Tier List for help and advice.

Introduction

The Extravagant Easter Godfest descends this weekend and features 3x rates for featured Pantheons along with 4x for GFE. In addition, all rolls out of the Rare Egg Machine will come with +50 to a random stat. Finally, non-featured Godfest Exclusives will not appear from the Rare Egg Machine.

Following the trend of my previous Godfest reviews, I will include a tier list of both the pantheons, GFE, and a list that combines both for each day. Furthermore, I will include a fully updated Pantheon tier list to help showcase where all your cards fit in.

These opinions are my own and take into consideration the card’s value as a leader, sub, inherit, and possibly any niche role they fulfill. In order to rank in the highest tier, the card has to excel in their respective role and cannot feasibly be replaced by anyone else. This can also be thought of as a Best in Slot card and tends to have applications on the top tier teams.

New Content Updates

New Content Update – Evolutions & Buffs Overview

Introduction

An amazing amount of content was released last night and it is almost overwhelming trying to keep abreast with what is hip to the hop and worth pursuing. This article will try to help provide some clarity to the new cards and which ones you should prioritize if resources are limited.

In addition, I will also be briefly touching upon the notable buffs and eventually begin work on a farmable monster tier list from an inherit and leader/sub point of view.

New evolutions

If you refer to the official GungHo Facebook Page, there is an incredible amount of content to scroll through and the reincarnation process is resource intensive as each cards requires 16 million experience to level up. As such, you should resist the urge to reincarnate things you are using if you are unable to re-max level them.

Naturally, who you prioritize with your resources will be based upon your individual box needs and you should take my recommendations with a grain of salt.

Amon & Baal

The main problem with Belial, Amon, and Baal was that they had low value actives and desperately needed this Awoken evolution to revamp them. Now, they did lose some “signature” awakenings, AKA Amon’s Machine Killer and Baal’s Coop Boost and bind immunity, but these were replaced with dual TPA . While Machine Killer is quite unique, it has situational value at best with the access to the new Killer latents and the fact that most water cards are Physical and thus qualify to use them (which I use on my Meridionalis team).

On the other hand, Baal’s Coop Boost tends to be hazardous as it would cause him to hit significantly harder than the rest of the team. In addition, the loss of bind immunity is not appetizing. Continue reading New Content Update – Evolutions & Buffs Overview →

Introduction

0 Stamina Normals and 4x EXP Descends are coming to Puzzle and Dragons this month (I do not know the exact date, but it is soon) and this will be a first for NA/EU. Like 4x Technicals, this upcoming Extravagant Easter Event will be a fun filled adventure as we will now effectively have unlimited stamina in to play around with.

This is Fantastic and perhaps the main limiting factor will be how much time you have to dedicate to Puzzle and Dragons during these events.

This article will help provide my thoughts on 0 stamina normals, 4x EXP Descends, suggestions as to where you can spend your stamina as well as various team compositions for tackling Legendary Earth.

To Ganesha or not to Ganesha

Before I jump into the events specifically, I want to address the idea of using Ganesha during these periods of enhanced rewards. Ganesha is the only leader who can increase the rank experience gained when completing a dungeon. This has tremendous applications as you are now able to when you rank up as you are able to modify your experience gains by 1x, 1.5x, or 2.25x based on the number of Ganesha leads you bring. Introduction

A few things are currently happening in PAD, but the 4x Descend EXP is a little melodramatic due to the fact that there is no 10x Plus Eggs occurring simultaneously. I am still in the midst of writing about 0-Stamina Normals, but here is a couple videos from my YouTube channel to hopefully tie you over.

One Shot Challenge – Zeus Dragon

Both of my accounts including my Mom had Zeus Dragon (I still do not know how it is chosen as we are different starter dragon colours or different letter groups) so I only recorded a single playthrough with Meridionalis . This was my first attempt and was done “blind” in the sense that I did not know which Radar Dragon I was facing so I brought all the counters possible for each spawn.
